I am concerned that I have some names down for bronze coins that are also part of an ordering group. My hope (i'm not sure how the pay pal stuff works) is that everyone on this list will have first ordering privledges.

 

WYlostinMA is working on finalizing the ordering thru pay pal. The design should also be forthcoming.

This is so awesome. At this rate the Wyoming geocoin will be prepaid by everybody on the list before anybody even sees the artwork. Then, when the artwork is finally released sometime in the next decade, it will probably look horrible and everybody will want to back out of their orders.

 

I didn't place an "order" for a Wyoming coin for two reasons. One...no artwork. Two...never confirmed if the coins would be GC.com trackable or not. The lack of information and organization is staggering.

 

Take note folks, this is not the way you want to handle the organization and sale of your own state coin. If you want to see a good example of geocoin organization, then check out the EU, Alaska or Maryland geocoins. Those people did it right.

I relly don't see it as a complaint...I see it as a concern...the same concern that made me get out of the coin club I was in...they buy anything that comes out...it's very simple if you think about it...1k coins spoken for and still no art work...they may not be ready to be paid for yet but why would anyone let that many people put their name on a waiting list without at the very least a hand drawing of what the coin might look like...this is just not a good way to do it...

 

I'm getting ready to have some coins made myself but I will post the art work at the same time I announce the coins...just my 2cents

I'm still in for the coins I previously indicated. Take as much time as you need to come up with an outstanding coin. It isn't about how fast you do it; it's about how great it's going to be when you're done.

 

Look at it this way - If you had a coin for sale tomorrow in solid silver, with gold brading for $3 each, someone would complain 'why wasn't it done yesterday' and 'I place my order this morning - Why haven't I gotten it yet?'.

I understand the concerns expressed. But since WY is near my area and I could use WY coins as good FTF prizes or western NE items to leave when I get out there again, I already know I would take 4. So add me for that.
