Prairiepartners Posted January 16, 2006 Posted January 16, 2006 Of course if I win the lottery, all bets are off If we have any money left over to buy any tickets
Willden Wild-Bunch Posted January 16, 2006 Posted January 16, 2006 We loved the puzzle coin idea! We would like at least 2 sets. Happy caching y'all.
BackBrakeBilly Posted January 16, 2006 Author Posted January 16, 2006 Wow you all are really churning out the coins.....this one is pretty cool I would buy a set for sure!! But you better watch out you might get your links removed by the geocoin mods for being too commercial like neilsenc and cachehunters42 did. Ya'll have quite the little coin business going on. No coin business for us, we still think of this as a hobby and are having a blast being able to see some of our ideas come to life. Thanks for all the great comments on our ideas!
ParentsofSAM Posted January 16, 2006 Posted January 16, 2006 what qualifies it as a business? Release 3 coins a month? 2 coins? There are lots of people making coins and profiting without a "business" name. I can see this series is going to be poular, maybe minting 500-1000 "sets"... do you think Groundspeak will say no to $1.50 per tracking number/coin on that one? A business is defined as profiting more than $600 in any given fiscal quarter of the calendar year through the sale of a product (coins here) or service. Even if it is just a fun hobby to you it is a business to the IRS if the sales fall within these limits. (Can you tell it is tax time of the year? I am in the that frame of mind ... ) BTW -- I think it is great that ya'll are making all these really nice, creative coins. I also think it is great that I can buy them to add to my collection. I meant no harm by my comments I hope no one took it the wrong way.
Ladycacher Posted January 16, 2006 Posted January 16, 2006 I would like one set please (I am sure this is not a order thread, but what the heck).
GeoTub Posted January 16, 2006 Posted January 16, 2006 Excellnet idea! I am trying to stop spending $$$ on GeoCoins, you are making my mission difficult. Count me in GeoTub
DiskDevil Posted January 16, 2006 Posted January 16, 2006 Billy you are killing my budget! two sets please!!
rufnredy Posted January 16, 2006 Posted January 16, 2006 If this really is an order thread, count me in for a set too ... awesome idea and design ...
BackBrakeBilly Posted January 16, 2006 Author Posted January 16, 2006 Don't worry, this is only a "Sneak Preview" of the coins. We are looking at a early February release for these. We will post more details as time goes on but the artwork has been sent to the coin folks so the die art can be started. As we say, more info coming soon so stay tuned!
Damenace Posted January 16, 2006 Posted January 16, 2006 We are looking at a early February release for these. Just in time to get my taxes back so I can buy more coins
graylling Posted January 16, 2006 Posted January 16, 2006 I'll definitely be in for a couple of sets. I love the concept. Mind you the urge to store them pieced together will be overwhelming and I'm not sure how I would accomplish that. hmmmmmm have to think on it.
Dani Du & the Muttley Crew Posted January 16, 2006 Posted January 16, 2006 Put me down for one also-cool idea
Rusty O Junk Posted January 16, 2006 Posted January 16, 2006 I'd like a set if I can buy them all together. If I have to burn up my f5 key and race to get in on a 40 second sale I'll pass. Wouldn't want to buy three then end up at ebay paying $50.00 for the last one.
Tigerz Posted January 16, 2006 Posted January 16, 2006 We'd also like at least 2 sets ... great coin!

Wouldn't want to buy three then end up at ebay paying $50.00 for the last one. I agree with this statement. I wouldn't pay $50.00 on E-*** for the last one. I'd just end up selling the ones I did get on E-*** for $50.00 each. CF30
frivlas Posted January 16, 2006 Posted January 16, 2006 Darn, I don't think I will be able to resist..I'm gonna have to get 2 sets when they come out!
mjp303 Posted January 16, 2006 Posted January 16, 2006 I was sitting at my desk this morning while Outlook started up. Gazing absent mindedly at the screen, I thought to myself, 'Hey, where have I seen that logo before?' Yup, right here. The coin shapes and color scheme (minus the GC logo images) is identical to the one for Outlook 2000.
Blue J Wenatchee Posted January 16, 2006 Posted January 16, 2006 Count me in Billy. It has been a pleasure working with you on your other coins. You got some great ideas. Keep them coming. But only like every other month or so so that I can afford to eat lunch.
uprcut Posted January 17, 2006 Posted January 17, 2006 Very nice! When they are ready give me a yell!!! uprcut
islander1988 Posted January 17, 2006 Posted January 17, 2006 (edited) I'd be in for a set of these too. It'd be cool to start them off in a set of 4 new puzzle caches. Edited January 17, 2006 by islander1988
sillygirl & jrr Posted January 17, 2006 Posted January 17, 2006 Very cool idea. We will need 2 sets, at least.
hydnsek Posted January 17, 2006 Posted January 17, 2006 I'd be in for a set of these too. It'd be cool to start them off in a set of 4 new puzzle caches. Absolutely, my thoughts exactly! Sign me up for 2 sets!
Team Professor X Posted January 17, 2006 Posted January 17, 2006 I'am puzzeled . Great idea, but an expensive deal to get another icon . Make it more difficult to sell the pieces apart of each other every 3 months, but please, not in the middle of the night her in Europe .
Blue iis Posted January 17, 2006 Posted January 17, 2006 Probably one of the coolest ideas I've seen. One I'll have to get!
AtlantaGal Posted January 17, 2006 Posted January 17, 2006 Has Groundspeak approved the artwork? Or are you still waiting to hear from them?
BackBrakeBilly Posted January 17, 2006 Author Posted January 17, 2006 Has Groundspeak approved the artwork? Or are you still waiting to hear from them? I talked to Bryan on the phone about it and he approved the idea and told me to send him the artwork which has been done. He still has to email me back but like I say, he gave me his ok over the phone so we will see......
Maxilainen Posted January 17, 2006 Posted January 17, 2006 (edited) Interested in one set!!!!! Very nice!!! Edited January 17, 2006 by Maxilainen
Pentagram Posted January 17, 2006 Posted January 17, 2006 Following this thread with more than normal interest. Hope they can become our first own foreign coins.
Marky Posted January 17, 2006 Posted January 17, 2006 Has Groundspeak approved the artwork? Or are you still waiting to hear from them? I talked to Bryan on the phone about it and he approved the idea and told me to send him the artwork which has been done. He still has to email me back but like I say, he gave me his ok over the phone so we will see...... That's cool. I hope it gets approved. Here's the answer I got: All Groundspeak Geocaching logos are to be used "as they appear" and are not to be cut up or resized or altered. I didn't press my idea further since that sounded like a no to me. I like yours better than mine anyway. --Marky
Not So Lost Puppies Posted January 17, 2006 Posted January 17, 2006 That's cool. I hope it gets approved. Or else that was added after you grabbed it. (that was copied from Eartha's message in the recent copyright issues thread that is now locked)

(that was copied from Eartha's message in the recent copyright issues thread that is now locked) All this is really a mute point, I am working with Groundspeak on this and you folks are beating a dead horse. This thread was not started to debate the usage of the Groundspeak logo, it was simply started to preview a project that we are currently working on. If you feel the need to discuss the if's and's and but's then please start another thread. Thanks.
BackBrakeBilly Posted January 17, 2006 Author Posted January 17, 2006 We now have Groundspeaks approval for the Puzzle Coin(s)! Like I said earlier in this thread look for more info along the way and stay tuned here for the details about where and when! Thanks for all the great comments so far!
TheAlabamaRambler Posted January 17, 2006 Posted January 17, 2006 Sign me up for two sets, Billy! Best coin idea I have seen! Ed
Westwood Goods Posted January 17, 2006 Posted January 17, 2006 (edited) I definetly want "at least" 1 set (prefer 2 but depends on cost) Edited January 17, 2006 by Westwood Goods
The_Proffens Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 That is a really nice set of coins!!! Bravo
Alice Band Posted January 19, 2006 Posted January 19, 2006 I've got to have one for some puzzle caches I'm planning. Count me in for one set
martinp13 Posted January 19, 2006 Posted January 19, 2006 This Sneak Preview thread has taken on the appearance of a get-on-the-list thread. I want one set, but expect that the real thread will come soon?
BackBrakeBilly Posted January 20, 2006 Author Posted January 20, 2006 (edited) No this isn't a preorder thread but we are watching it to see how much of an interest there is in the coin(s). The coins will be presold in early February and will be done as in the past with us. I will announce a Presale thread here and give everyone notice here. Thanks and as always, keep checking back for more details! Edited January 20, 2006 by BackBrakeBilly
guinea gal Posted January 20, 2006 Posted January 20, 2006 Well, if this is not a pre-order thread but a gauge of interest, then I am DEFINITELY interested in at least 1 set! When I read the subject line, I thought you meant Puzzle cache coin as in... the puzzle to a cache is ON this coin (isn't there a Moun10bike coin like that?) I like this idea better! ~gg
geos of the jungle Posted January 20, 2006 Posted January 20, 2006 Would be interested in at least two of these.
