(it's h*ll gettin' old....can't remember where you put stuff....then when you do find it, can't remember why you were lookin' for it ......) now, where did I put that cache........
+jamesbe2759 Posted May 2, 2005 Posted May 2, 2005 Wife = 69 Me = 68 I'd be interested in seeing the average when survey is complete.
uber_bike_geek Posted May 2, 2005 Posted May 2, 2005 16... (and I thought *I* was old... NOT!!) Happy Caching Jeff
+blazerfan Posted May 2, 2005 Posted May 2, 2005 (edited) 27... with 391 caches I will be the youngest cacher in the Rogue Valley to reach 1000 and I have about 30 years to do it Edited May 2, 2005 by blazerfan
+wewalksfar Posted May 2, 2005 Posted May 2, 2005 Me, 30, my husband is 37, geoCJ is 5 yrs old and Isis our Geopup is 5 months.
bug and snake Posted May 2, 2005 Posted May 2, 2005 (edited) 58 goin' on 22 - what's it to ya? HUH? An' Bugsie is a little less, 55 Edited May 2, 2005 by bug and snake
+carleenp Posted May 2, 2005 Posted May 2, 2005 I have a feeling I might be hunted down this month if she shows up at Geo-Woodstock
MagicMeeko Posted May 2, 2005 Posted May 2, 2005 XXII But this is not the question to ask. It should be "Why does GCing appeal to you?"
Colonel Mustard Posted May 2, 2005 Posted May 2, 2005 Oh ya, 41. Remember, it's not the age, it's the mileage... 48 and it's not the milage it's the maintenance
+Deliveryguy428 Posted May 2, 2005 Posted May 2, 2005 I have a feeling I might be hunted down this month if she shows up at Geo-Woodstock ::in hiding:: can you see me now
+Deliveryguy428 Posted May 2, 2005 Posted May 2, 2005 15. I feel so old after reading this. Ok the offical nuke cloud now belongs to you, go get him carlee
+mrmnjewel Posted May 2, 2005 Posted May 2, 2005 I'm 36 today, but by Wednesday I'll be 37 Well, happy birthday, AG!
+TheAlabamaRambler Posted May 2, 2005 Posted May 2, 2005 Lessee, geocached all day Saturday, sat in the stands for the NASCAR Aaron's 499 (It's still called the Talladega 500 down here and always will be!) all day Sunday, so today I feel, oh, 80. I'll sleep in today, wake feeling refreshed and, say, 41 My wife is 52 but looks 19, so if she gets that gleam in her eye I will feel 20, until after, when I'll feel 90. Then someone will call me to geocache, and I will suddenly feel 19 again. So, on average I feel 50, which is a good age to feel since I was born in '55!
+mrmnjewel Posted May 2, 2005 Posted May 2, 2005 I'm 35, on the downhill run to 36. Julia, the other half of the team is 34
+Miragee Posted May 2, 2005 Posted May 2, 2005 Wow... Only 3 or 4 people older than I am (57) have responded. That is startling. When I am out in the woods and I can smell the pine needles and the fresh dirt and maybe see a deer or a snake and wanting to go around just one more bend in the trail I am still 16 and full of wonder and anticipation . . . . Isn't that the truth! Amazing how Geocaching reverses chronological age so dramatically.
+greende Posted May 2, 2005 Posted May 2, 2005 Me? I'm going on 57. Wife is 39. Twins (one of each) 3. I think the average age is in our house!
+tompor1 Posted May 2, 2005 Posted May 2, 2005 After hanging kitchen cabinets all day sat and sun my arms are about 120 but my spirit is 30 (actual age 61 )
+Pablo Mac Posted May 2, 2005 Posted May 2, 2005 I'm 41, and thanks to geocaching I feel 21. My girl Cache Diva is 10 and my boy (still geonameless) is 5. This sport keeps me young for my kids!
+Prairie Dog Posted May 2, 2005 Posted May 2, 2005 28 year old single male seeks single female for caching adventure and maybe more. Have GPS will travel. Serious inquiries only, please. Whoops! Wrong message board.
+pghlooking Posted May 2, 2005 Posted May 2, 2005 35 and 34 for the most caches. Throw in the 3 and 2 year olds for the easier ones.
+CoastieGeorge Posted May 2, 2005 Posted May 2, 2005 I am 24 and all of my cacing buddies are a few years younger.
+DanOCan Posted May 2, 2005 Posted May 2, 2005 I'm 32 and my wife is XX. (Age removed to save my life is she were ever to read these forums.)
+NevaP Posted May 2, 2005 Posted May 2, 2005 Still 70 until July, heading for Alaska mid May for two weeks of strenuous off in the boonies birding and then, accompanied by Carleenp's dad (73), some geocaching in the more civilized parts of the state. NevaP, aka Carleen's mom, still trying to decide what she wants to be when she grows up.
+BigHank Posted May 2, 2005 Posted May 2, 2005 Monday mornings I tend to be around 90, but by the middle of the week I'm back to my usual 59.
+Marietta Moose Posted May 2, 2005 Posted May 2, 2005 My wife of 37 years says I'm about 15 while caching but I'm physically 60. She is 2 years younger (she doesn't read the forums). My son got me caching (addicted) and he's 27, my daughter doesn't geocache so she is just plain 24. That's all fclks.
+Pepper Posted May 2, 2005 Posted May 2, 2005 This geogirl plans on keeping her age top secrete! Besides I've been 29 now for as long as I can remember. Pepper
dsandbro Posted May 2, 2005 Posted May 2, 2005 Old enough to know better, but young enough to do it anyway. Just turned 51. Do you want physical age or mental age?????
+corncat Posted May 2, 2005 Posted May 2, 2005 We're 53 and 56 year old rookies. Just started caching in Feb. 2005.
Jeremy Posted May 2, 2005 Posted May 2, 2005 There was some surveys done a few years back and the median age was around 38. Ancedotally we have noticed (mostly from photos) that it shifts to a younger demographic when you look at Europe. The average family who play together have kids between the ages of 6-12. And the primary web site user is male (not a huge shocker).
+Gretch_Mess Posted May 2, 2005 Posted May 2, 2005 I'm amazed that so many people (including myself) are motivated to share their age. I'm 38 with twin 5 year old boys! Wow, that felt good
+Gretch_Mess Posted May 2, 2005 Posted May 2, 2005 . . . and I'm male - you can call me "Joe Average"
+Savoy 6 Posted May 3, 2005 Posted May 3, 2005 49 next month. The great philosopher Jimmy Buffett says, "I'm gowing older, but not up". When you've been in the sandbox with folks almost 30 years your junior and are in better shape, age is not a factor. Alas, that is no longer the situation. Geocaching is my replacement for other long walks now that I'm fighting the Battle of the Bulge.
+W7WT Posted May 3, 2005 Posted May 3, 2005 They say you are really really OLD when you brag about it. I turned 80 on the 23rd of April. I have found 857 caches and hope to hit 1000 this year. I am a WWII veteran. I would be interested in how many WWII veterans are ACTIVE Geocachers. Dick, W7WT
+carleenp Posted May 3, 2005 Posted May 3, 2005 42 I am looking forward to 42. Then when asked my age I can just say "it is the answer."
