PCFrog Posted August 4, 2005 Posted August 4, 2005 Hello, I have read many posts about having and not having a coin trackable through GC.com. I would like to get a feeling for the majority here. For 3 days, I like to conduct a short poll about if you think a Geocoin should be trackable regardless of the $1.50 extra cost per coin. Saturday night 6pm I will count and post the total for those who whish to see. I think this is important issue, and would give those who are producing coins a better idea what the community would like. If you would please, only answer the question in this thread and keep answers to YES or NO for easy counting. Please don’t post anything else here except the Yes or No. Thanks, pcfrog GC.com = www.geocaching.com Question: Do you think a Geocoin should be trackable through GC..com? Yes or No
+Spencersb Posted August 4, 2005 Posted August 4, 2005 yes PS: We're running the same poll on our local forums regarding our 2006 coin, and the vote is running 11 to 2 in favor of GC tracking.
+Maingray Posted August 4, 2005 Posted August 4, 2005 (edited) No*. (*If you mean that *every* geocoin should be trackable for free by gc.com) -- Yes* (*if you mean that a certain geocoin should made trackable on gc.com for $1.50, I'd pay the extra cost) Edited August 4, 2005 by maingray
+Renegade Knight Posted August 4, 2005 Posted August 4, 2005 No. Tracking at GC.com or any other site is entirely a waste of space on a coin that could be replaced by art that represents the group or person making the coin. The coin is less attractive (Even the Alaska ones that have the best solution I've seen for tracking #'s on the coin) and less representative of those who made it. (That's the long way to say "no").
+welch Posted August 5, 2005 Posted August 5, 2005 No Wonderful option to have, but it seems many geocoins don't do much traveling...
+TeamZebra Posted August 5, 2005 Posted August 5, 2005 Yeppers True, not all coins travel as bugs, but many people use their favorite/local coin as a personal travel bug. Can't do that without gc.com tracking... and there's the icon collectors too.
PCFrog Posted August 6, 2005 Author Posted August 6, 2005 22 Yes 23 No Man that horrible... Not enough people voted to make a definite difference. Anyhow read it how you would like. Thanks for your time.
