  4. Hi guys, sorry I didn't answer my email. I rarely check my geocaching email anymore (guess I should). I actually did renew the league but didn't have the time to peruse the new setup (busy with the start of tax season and the new NASCAR season just crept up on me). Let me know if you want to use my league or the new one you setup. Thanks!
  5. I just ordered some of the buddy tags from Geoswag. If you buy at least ten, they're 99 cents each + shipping. http://www.geoswag.com/swag/other/swag-travel-bug-buddy-al.html I keep a list of my geocoins that are in my collection and also that I sent out traveling. Out of the 436 I've sent out traveling, at least 389 of them have gone missing. I used to send out emails to those cachers who've held them for a long period of time and once in a while, someone would respond with an apology and a promise to set them free. But a very large majority never respond and I mark the geocoin as missing. I've never sent out a replacement or proxy because if I find a proxy myself, I'm disappointed it's not the real thing. But I respect everyone's own way of doing this hobby of ours.
  6. Yes, congratulations to PARacers for winning the championship! It was a close race but she pulled it out. And yes, congrats to Joey too but I'll be honest, he was the last one I wanted to win. Not a fan of his. Was hoping Martin would pull out the back-to-back championships. Thanks to everyone for participating and hopefully we can get a few more entrants next year. Only three months till the Daytona 500!
  7. I reread the rules and the NASCAR league only runs 26 weeks and doesn't include the playoffs so I searched for another league and found this one: https://fantasyracingcheatsheet.com/fantasy-nascar/games If anyone wants to join, sign up, click on Join League -> Private League -> search for geocoin and you should find our 2018 Fantasy NASCAR Geocoin League. Password is 2018geocoin Entry fee is one unactivated geocoin. Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks!
  8. Taking entrants into the 2018 Fantasy Auto Racing Geocoin League Yahoo shut down their fantasy auto racing site for 2018 so I looked into alternatives and the only free one I found was from NASCAR itself so I set up a league. They changed their rules for 2018 to make it more similar to Yahoo. There are also bonus points you can earn each week, like picking the pole-winner, winning manufacturer, etc. Let me know if you want to play and I can send the info. If you want to be eligible for the geocoin prizes, the buy-in is one unactivated geocoin. Thanks!
  9. Yep, Yahoo shut down their fantasy auto racing (as well as golf, which I also play). I guess they're focusing their resources on their more popular fantasy sports, like football. I looked into alternatives and the only free one I found was from NASCAR itself so I set up a league. Thanks!
  10. Hello everyone, just a quick update regarding the buy-in coins. I've received coins from the following: Crazy Canuk, Kiss of Death, hotwheels, and Mattycakes I still need coins from Raycer X, Kensay, and JGR20Fan. Does anyone know who Raycer X is? I can't contact him/her through Yahoo as there's no contact info there. PM if you need my mailing address, thanks!
  11. The 2017 NASCAR season is closely approaching and the Fantasy Auto Racing Coiners League is back! Once again, this year we'll be in the Yahoo Fantasy Auto Racing leagues, one unactivated trackable geocoin as a buy-in, Lucky dog drops your worst week per segment. Geocoin payout depends on the number of entrants. Will email everyone a mailing address once the season starts. Here's the league ID: 4662 (2017 Coiners League) Password is 2017geocoin Please let me know if you have any questions and good luck!
  12. I'll start up the league soon as I've been seeing Daytona commercials which was a good reminder. I'll start a new thread as well. Thanks! I thought there might be a way to renew the league but it looks like I have to set up a new one and then re-invite the owners. Here's the league ID: 4662 (2017 Coiners League) Password is 2017geocoin I'll set up a new thread soon.
  13. Glad everything got there safe and sound! Nice story about how this geocoin league got you back into watching NASCAR. This league is the reason I started watching NASCAR in the first place. Here in Hawaii, I'd say very few people actually watch NASCAR so I grew up not watching it. But now with the league, it sure is fun to watch every weekend and root for your drivers. When I get the renewal email sometime in February I'll send the renewal email to you all. Hopefully we can get a few more "drivers" for our league. Congrats again to PaRacers! f
  14. Congrats to PaRacerKim for winning the championship this year. It was close the last few races which made every race exciting. I finally got to watch the final Chase race live this year, as I had been on trips the past two years. Exciting stuff! PaRacerKim, could you email me your shipping address and I'll get the coins out to you ASAP.
  15. Got my little travel racer today, thanks! Good luck to everyone during the Chase! Should be exciting!
  16. I just created a league if anyone wants to join. Group ID #11177 Password: geocoin How about the usual one unactivated geocoin buy-in. Lucky Dog drops worst week per segment.
  17. I'm definitely interested in playing again. I look forward to this league every year. That being said, I think I might owe one of the winners a coin from last season. I'm not certain if I sent a coin or not at the beginning of the year so I sent rick an email after the season ended asking if I owed a coin but I didn't get a response.
  18. Even though this is an old thread, I figured I'd let you know my experiences geocaching in Japan earlier this month, in case others traveling to Japan in the future might have questions. I geocached in Japan using my Explorist GC as well as my iPhone 5s. After the first couple of days using the Explorist GC, I switched to using my iPhone since that was one less thing I'd have to carry around. Before going to Japan, I researched sim cards for my iPhone and found that getting a data-only Sim card was the way to go. IIRC, either the voice cards were very expensive or they don't offer voice cards to visitors. I ended up getting this one: http://www.bmobile.ne.jp/english/product.html It cost around $33 USD and is good for 14 days. I had them (I ordered 3, since there were 3 of us with iPhones) delivered to the first hotel we stayed at in Japan. When I checked in, the front desk employee told me I had a delivery and gave me the packages with the cards. I switched the Sim card and followed the instructions on the website to set up an APN profile. I set up the APN profile while I was still at home but found out that by doing so, cellular data wouldn't work. So I deleted the APN profile and when I got to Japan, set it up again. I had no problems with the card at all during the 12 days we were in Japan. I used it for everything from geocaching, munzee, mapping, etc. I received a signal almost everywhere, even in the subways, etc. We found multiple geocaches in Osaka, Hiroshima, Kyoto, Tokyo, etc. using our iPhones and had no problem doing so.

  20. Received from Pingos today, thanks!
  21. Geocoin Fantasy Baseball is back! Entry fee is one unactivated geocoin. Send me an email if interested, thanks!
  22. Some of those geocoins were nontrackable as I have two of them that I use as Christmas ornaments.
  23. No, I was able to join a few groups on Facebook that are buying/selling/trading coins, though. Hope you are feeling better. Hey Ron, did you get my email reply to your international shipping question? BTW, I've sold a lot of the bulk of my geocoin collection. I had boxes and containers of geocoins just collecting dust. So I started selling some of it a couple of years ago to fund my new(est) collection. =)
