+Pharisee Posted March 7, 2006 Posted March 7, 2006 Leading on from a comment I made in another thread.... Who are the oldest and youngest geocachers among us.... that are allowed out geocaching on their own? I'm sure as hell not the youngest and I know I'm not the oldest but I'll start the ball rolling at 60!! Quote
+purple_pineapple Posted March 7, 2006 Posted March 7, 2006 well since I was making sarcastic comments on that other thread, I'll follow up! A mere half your age Pharisee - or should that be gramps?! Having said that, either thats a very old avatar, or ur looking pretty nifty for a 60 year old! Dave Quote
+Woody's Wanderers Posted March 7, 2006 Posted March 7, 2006 Me 35, Annette 29, Woody, all of 8 months! Ah, bless (and he found 'Bashful' for us!) Quote
+Moote Posted March 7, 2006 Posted March 7, 2006 Fact I am 43, I used to be allowed to cache on my own but now I have to take that Old Man Mongoose39UK along Quote
+HazelS Posted March 7, 2006 Posted March 7, 2006 I'm 32, feel 23!! I know who the youngest Cachers are - but they are not allowed out on their own... they are Pinga and Roo - Skippy and Pingus unborn twins who already have their own log in!!! Quote
+Stuey Posted March 7, 2006 Posted March 7, 2006 I know a 70 year old (or nearly 70?) who has done a few 5/5's this year already! Quote
+John Stead Posted March 7, 2006 Posted March 7, 2006 I know a 70 year old (or nearly 70?) who has done a few 5/5's this year already! That is not me - but I will be 70 before the year is out! Quote
+walkergeoff and wife Posted March 7, 2006 Posted March 7, 2006 The best I can do is offer my grandson (aged 6) who comes out with me whenever he visits, and enjoys reading the numbers on signposts, or counting various things, for multi-caches. Quote
+Alboy Posted March 7, 2006 Posted March 7, 2006 I'm 36. Charlie my youngest has come out once or twice and he's 18 months old Quote
Andys101 & Redfrock Posted March 7, 2006 Posted March 7, 2006 HUBBY IS 32 ....VERY VERY NEARLY 33 AND I'M 30 AND SENT A TB OUT THE DAY IT HAPPENED oops. 'scuse the capitals - i wasn't shouting - honest Quote
+allieballie Posted March 7, 2006 Posted March 7, 2006 (edited) I'm sure as hell not the youngest and I know I'm not the oldest but I'll start the ball rolling at 60!! Surely that's not your age Pharisee? You certainly don't look anything like that! No point me contributing my age (38) to this thread as I will be in the middle somewhere. Can't even put forward wee man (aged 6) as I know there is a much younger geocacher in Fife - a fully fledged member of "third generation" who is a toddler! Edited March 7, 2006 by allieballie Quote
+Kitty Hawk Posted March 7, 2006 Posted March 7, 2006 I'm 37. Finn * is 7, but is getting towards 100 caches and started when he was just 4. Zak doesn't have his own ID, but he's just turned three and started before he was 3 months old, although he didn't become useful until he was 18 months and could crawl under gorse bushes. alistair_uk Posted March 7, 2006 Posted March 7, 2006 21 (again). Well okay, I am actually 32, but don’ tell anyone. Quote
+Hillhappy1 Posted March 7, 2006 Posted March 7, 2006 I am 48 but feel like a 19yr old. Only another 17yrs until full time caching. Quote

+Yorkypudding Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 I am 36 although since my birthday last year in August and one day last week I have been saying and popping down that I am 37? I behave like a 15 year old but my body is like a very unfit 50 year old. We cant say that 50,60 or older is old anymore there are some very fit older people out there who are an inspiration to me. They make me realise its not too late to sort yourself out. So I now have plenty of time to do that lol. Yorkypuddingx Quote
+Woodbury Walker Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 I know a 70 year old (or nearly 70?) who has done a few 5/5's this year already! OK Stuey, I'll own up, I was 70 yesterday!!! I really enjoy caching and appreciate the fact that skate introduced me to it in December 2003. I have been to places I would have never visited if it hadn't been for caching. Enjoy it while you can? +Pharisee Posted March 8, 2006 Author Posted March 8, 2006 Surely that's not your age Pharisee? You certainly don't look anything like that! That's very sweet of you to say so.... but yes, I'll be 60 in less that two weeks time. Quote

+Mr Nibbler Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 I'm 48 and my son, Mcd1, who caches on his own is 16 today. Excellent news as I can now send him out to get me a packet of fags when he's staying with me Quote
+Old B Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 I am oficially 61 but as I have only one ambition in life " I wish to grow old before I grow up" I think that makes me a lot younger. Gordon Quote

So Jim is the oldest cacher so far?! 70 years old and he's still knocking off 5/5's from the hitlist. If I am as active as you are when I am your age, I will be a happy man! Happy birthday for yesterday! Quote
