+Skate and Jane
Just for fun, i thought it would be interesting to find out how far away the nearest "yet to find" cache is from your home co-ords. At present mine is 0.3 miles (beat that!). Although i suspect keen cachers will have a little further to travel!! Quote Link to comment
Leoness
When I was living in N Yorks, my nearest unfound cache to home was over 30 miles away. Now that I've moved to a new area, my nearest unfound cache is only about 8 miles away as I've yet to get out there and find them all ! Quote Link to comment
+Boneychest & Catsuey
7.6 miles. It's been found twice so far and we really must get on and do it! Quote Link to comment
+Brenin Tegeingl
my nearest is 8 miles away, and I can actually see the general location from home, but after checking with auto route its a 35.6 mile journey each way . Dave Quote Link to comment
+steviep
13miles,an event cache so i can't do it till the 18th Quote Link to comment
markandlynn
15.7 miles North east is our closest unfound cache. So that's us in the lead Quote Link to comment
+The Hokesters
Our nearest is 2.2 miles but our nearest unfound is only 3.3 miles. We DNF'd this one when we first started caching earlier in the year because a locked five bar gate blocked the way (illegally it turns out). We just haven't got round to going back yet. Moss Trooper
I logged this one in the early days of caching.. If I remember rightly it worked out at 28 feet LOL LOL B'stards had hid it behind me wheely bin. Closest yet to find is 3.44mi. Edited December 15, 2004 by Moss Trooper Quote Link to comment
+Pooter
16.0 miles. But this is on the Isle of Bute which involves a 30 minute ferry journey, so probably takes at least an hour (+£25 fare for car and driver). Still, I'm off to Bute this weekend to tidy up loose ends. If you ignore the island ones, it's 42.7 miles. Quote Link to comment
+The Spokes
Into second spot with 1.9 I don't think there will be many less tham .3 if any. Quote Link to comment
Remote Part
My nearest unfounds are a couple of webcam caches, both about 2km of me. I will get around to finding them sometime, when I can arrange for someone to be at a computer while I go there. There's also a multi cache which starts 2km away, but will involve walking at least 10km. I'm tempted to go for it in the next couple of days. I've just checked, and there's a total of 20 caches within 2 miles of my home coordinates. Quote Link to comment
+dunos
My nearest according to the closest cache page is 267ft, although actually this is the coordinates for a parking space and not the actual cache. The next nearest is 413ft but this is just the start of a multi. My nearest 'real' cache is 1.3miles away. Edited December 15, 2004 by dunos Quote Link to comment
+Alibags
My nearest unfound cache is about 600 feet away from home, but as I set it, I am unlikely to ever find it! The nearest unfound apart from that is 2.6 miles. We are in the middle of cache rich territory round my way anyway. I expect the figures to drastically change when several more escape from the starting traps this weekend! Quote Link to comment
+Naefearjustbeer
The nearest cache to my house is 3.1 miles and it belongs to me. The nearest unfound cache is 16.3 miles away. And as a matter of interest there are 29 caches in the surrounding 20 miles hidden by 7 different cachers. My I did not realise how many cachers had hidden round my home area Edited December 15, 2004 by Naefearjustbeer Quote Link to comment
+MarkGPX
16.8 mi to my nearest unfound thanks to The Hokesters. I knew I shouldn't have told Si that I'd done every cache within a 17mi radius! MarkGPX Quote Link to comment

+Simply Paul
367(!) caches in the surrounding 20 miles hidden by 63 different cachers! The closest I've yet to do, apart from my own, starts 1.1 miles away. I'm leaving it for a rainy day SP, suddenly feeling very blessed. Spoilt even. Quote Link to comment
+Molinnis
Only 2 caches within a 20 mile radius unfound by myself. The closest is 13.2 miles, then 18.4 miles after that its over 25 miles. Quote Link to comment

+allieballie
5.9 miles to nearest unfound - only because you have to pass through a cow field to get there - I am waiting for the real winter weather to arrive in the hope that the farmer will take the beasts in and I can walk to the cache site safe in the knowledge that my cow phobia will not be tested out!! +Paul G0TLG
According to the nearest cache page, my nearest is 8 miles: However, that's to the start of a multi and I've done all except the last bit, which is much further away (and I believe it may be missing). Next nearest is about 9 miles and involves wading a river, so that can wait for the warmer weather! Quote Link to comment

+jjn too
33.5 miles That's in London too so unlikely to get there for a while. There doesn't seem to have been much activity around the Cambridge area for a while When I first found out about caching I put my home coordinates in and got 0.4 miles, which was quite cool. (Obviously that's not 'new' any more There's now one a bit closer at 0.1 miles - but that's one I've set! Edited December 17, 2004 by jjn too Quote Link to comment

Daz n Jane
There are 2 caches both 0.4 miles away from us which we're yet to 'do'. Unfortunately, they're not in the nicest part of town so I'm not gushing with enthusiasm for them. We have only placed one cache so far - 6 miles from home. Quote Link to comment
