  1. Thanks for your suggestions, I am at work at the moment, obviously not busy! so have not checked today yet, however I do remember it had said Never ran last night. I have now gone in to sign the agreement bit and have just checked my PQ and there is now a date against the one with a day selected and the one without, so when I get home I can check my email again and see if I have now received them. Fingers crossed! watch this space. Thanks again for all your help and suggestions
  2. Now waiting 1 day for PQs with and without a day selected.
  3. Have you 'ticked' the boxes on what day you want the PQ's to run ? I did'nt initially but have since tried with a day checked and this did not work either. Thanks for the quick reply.
  4. Having just registered for premium membership, I have tried to use PQ but without much success. It will produce a list of my nearest caches which I can preview and it says it will email me the .gpx file containing the details. I have yet to receive anything. Is there a problem with the system or is it me? Anyone else having similar problems? Thanks
  5. The muggled Boston one was one of our caches, we didn't replace it as the area where it was hidden was very exposed (very few hedges/trees) to be found! There are more caches in Lincolnshire further inland and closer to our home. It has improved, when we started caching there was hardly any in Lincolnshire at all. The problem with the area near Boston/ Kirton is that it is very exposed farming land, therefore more tricky to safely make a hide.
  6. Have just heard from the insurance that we were not covered, have now updated our cover!
  7. Well still haven't heard from Norwich Union , however...on the same day as Hubby's new Legend Cx turned up (having decided to bite the bullet and treat himself to a new one anyway) a letter dropped through the door from an elderly gentleman's daughter, saying that her father had found a gps in the village but not knowing what it was, asked for their advice. They worked out what it was and how to turn it on. Thankfully my hubby had taken the time to update the ownership details with our new address and the couple were able to contact us. To cut a long story short our old gps turned up today safe and well. Needless to say we will not being claiming on the insurance but do want to know if we are covered for this type of thing. Top tip, do take the time to enter ownership details into your gps as you never know one day it might come in useful. It has restored our faith in human nature to see it safely returned and will refund the postage and give the elderly gent a reward for his honesty.
  8. We use the hint if we are really stuck or if it is in a muggle invested area. Tried to do one on holiday last week and decided to unscramble the clue as there were loads of muggles around and we did not want to draw attention to ourselves. When we had the clue we were still in the dark as it refered to a track on a certain album....as we were out in the middle of a field we had no idea what the answer was! Doh! In the end logged it as a failed to find and gave up...very frustrating.
  9. Have phoned them this morning and they say they will get back to me within the next two days to let me know if we can claim...fingers crossed! Thanks for all your replies!!!
  10. Don't think the insurance would cover it as it was not left in a secure place. Does anyone know of anybody that has managed to lose something and claim successfully for it?
  11. Yep! We have just done that...did a cache in Morcambe Bay on Friday. Stopped to have a celebration icecream and hubby put the gpsr on the seat to stop it falling out of his pocket. Yes, we got up and walked away without it! Didn't even think about where it was until we had driven about 20 miles back towards to where we were staying, decided to stop for a picnic and discovered the dreadful deed. Needless to say, we chucked the lunch boxes at the kids, told them to eat in the car and we raced back to Morecambe. As you can guess the gpsr had gone and had not been handed into any shops or police. All I can say is I am glad it was hubby that did it or I would never ever have heard the last of it. Now having to look for a replacement...have TB's and coins to place and more caches nearby to do! Can't decide at the moment whether to upgrade or buy the same as we lost. One very sad caching family here!
  12. Hi, Just about to buy a new gps as I had a mishap with the old legend that I had. I am thinking of upgrading to a legend CX, I currently use Mapsource version 5 roads and recreation Uk and am not sure whether it is compatible with the newer model. I don't really want to have to buy new software as well as a new gps so it might influence my decision as to whether I replace my legend with another one or go up market!
  13. We had one in one of our caches "The Final Raid"...however it seems to have gone walkabout (the camera that is not the cache). Seems strange as it was apparantly almost full!
  14. Well done! Very jealous, think it will take us a while to reach those dizzy heights!
  15. Has the bug been released? Hadn't seen the forums for a while. Elsa our cache hound in Lincolnshire is disappointed to have missed out, perhaps she could join in next time.
  16. Just been caching around the Lowestoft area and most of them there had plastic bags covering them. I hate the bags as you always end up wet and soggy trying to take the box out of them (not to mention the threat to wildlife etc). Mrs Lest
  17. Hope the leg gets better soon, at least you broke it doing something nice, our youngest broke his femur falling off the sofa! As for the police...we witnessed an accident when caching and thought that the ambulance might get there quicker with exact co-ords, no such luck, none of the services in Essex where the accident happened used them. Also tried to give them the grid reference as well but they didn't want that either!
  18. Thanks for your replies to our post, it is good to know we are not the only ones who feel this way. Happy Caching!
  19. I am a little confused. I thought the idea of travel bugs was that you place one in a cache, someone else comes along, picks it up and then places it in another cache, therefore moving the TB on gathering miles and moving them toward there owners goal! The reason I am confused is because one of our TBs, 'Freddy Frog' attended a cache meet on 18th Dec 04 and was logged in and out of the same cache (namely the event cache which was at a pub) several times by various cachers. At no one time was he picked up and taken to a NEW cache to gather miles. The idea of these meets are great and a way of getting to know fellow cachers from all over the country, but also a way of dropping off bugs in your inventory, so other cachers attending the meet can pick one or more up and take it back to a new area. At least that is what we thought and have done ourselves. To just pick it up, log it and put it back on the table is not the idea of the game or is it? Is it just a game of how many TBs you have seen in passing? Our TB 'Freddy Frog' is still shown listed as being in the event cache, now archived, which in fairness to the event organiser, she has been back to the pub to look for him and has asked some of the cachers who attended if they have him. So if you are reading this and you went to 'Dec 18th Christmas Drinkies (Herts/Beds/Bucks)' have a look in your cache bag and see if you have missed the poor little green frog trapped in the bottom and let us know if he will ever hop again or do we have to bury him in a TB Graveyard! Thanks
  20. Nearly 30 miles in all directions to our nearest ones! Boo Hoo!
  21. Sorry you weren,t successful. Hope you have managd to find somewhere else for the cache. A bit of a pain when you have spent time trying to find a great location.
  22. Hi, One of our micro caches is hidden on woodland trust land. I phoned the head office up and they then gave me the phone number of the local forrester in charge of woods. They said it was up to him, luckily he agreed!
  23. Fantastic! I'm not sure if our secondary school does the scheme, my eldest starts in September...but he is hoping it does!
  24. Well done Adrianjohn. Wow! treble figures, we have not made double yet, but working on it. We will be back to find your illusive Redhill cache soon! Lest44 and the Gang
