I have the same problem with my delaware. No activation code with.

 

I contact 2dolphin and he can't help me. I contact delaware association and the same thing hapen. No body can't help me to retrieve the activation code. They sell coin and after that nothing hapen if you need assistance.

i'm very disappointed

Mine all came with the Tracking/Activation Numbers printed on a sticker...attached to the coin sleeve. You should try entering the Tracking Number on the "Track Travel Bugs"....if it is already "activated" you will be taken to its page...if not, you will be told it has not been activated yet.

 

I think MikeOtt would be the one to ask if you are having problems. Are you sure that you don't have one of the pre-activated ones for release by the Delaware GeoCachers?

Sorry about that, looks like the server died. We have all the important data and are working to get it up.

We were able to get the Oakcoins server back on-line. The database to retrieve the codes is currently down but we still have all the data. It is being re-built and will be online soon.

:huh: Here is my sad story of a newbie exploring this new world of geocoin collecting: The first geocoin I purchased was a Canadian coin on e-bay. It indicated that it had not been activated which all I knew about that was I could lay claim to the coin and put it into circulation if I wanted. I received the coin and it was beautiful so I decided to just start my collection with it. After a couple months of reading the forums I found out that I would not be given credit for any coins unless I activated them. Much to my displeasure, I had placed the coin in an air-tite holder like one uses for silver dollars and therefore did not have the activation code any longer. I sent an e-mail to geocoin.ca to see if they could retrieve the code for me. After about 4 not very helpful e-mails, they finally told me that these coins were not trackable on geocaching.com. They also told me that only the 'original owner' could activate the coin and that I would have to contact them to have them 'transfer' ownership to me. Since I had purchased the coin several months ago, there is no way for me to contact this person. So I now have a coin that will never be activated which is fine but I just spent the last week bantering back and forth with a person who could care less about my problem. I for one will never own another Canadian geocoin of this type! :ph34r: Edited by Rubiconlwb

I'm begging ya! Please...someone help....My Deleware coins have no activation codes (nothing on the sleeve) -- does anyone have the list of coins to codes and can help me?

 

We have all the Delaware Geocoin codes and ID's. If you purchased a geocoin from the Delaware Geocaching club, I will be happy to retrieve your number.

 

We were against using any 2nd party place for code activation for a couple reasons.

 

1) These sites are not secure and are not guaranteed to be around for the life of the coins.

2) I see this as a conflict of interest, the people doing the code hosting have an agenda, they want to sell you more coins. Do you think it is free for them to setup your codes? If someone buys a coin from our club they should not be subjected to the whim of a coin seller to activate their coin?

 

We painstakingly labeled and matched every coin we shipped. Our club will handle all request for coin activation numbers, we will verify that the coin ID is assigned to the person who is requesting the code. (ALL the coins came with the activation code right on the package they came in.) If you sell or trade the coin, you need to make sure you have the activation codes (or get the codes from us) to give to YOUR customer, it is not our responsibility to provide service for your sales.

 

We don't want people who are not the owner of the coin doing an activation on that coin which will cause a devaluation of the coin. (We have some experience with this, it was not pretty.)

That's really wierd, I've never seen a web site do this before. I traded for 2 Yosemite coins. Both people I received the coins from were kind enbough to tape the activation web site, to wit:

If someone can figure where the heck to get an activation code for the Yosemite or Grand Canyon coins, please please please post a little help.

I just received an activation code for a UK coin, but when I tried to activating it, it said the TB was not in the system. I've checked and double checked the codes? Anyone have any advice?

 

First make sure you're not entering something wrong like 0 and O or something similar. If that doesn't work, email Alex. He should be able to check on it for you.

Need activation codes for the Tennesse Micro coin.

 

The Activation Code is printed on that little strip of paper in the pocket opposite the coin...I almost missed those myself.

 

Thanks 'Go JayBee' for the info. Just the coin number was showing and I thought is was a sticker. Never ocurred to me to pull it out and see the back side.

Howzabout the site for the activation of the Jeep'En Jumpers coin?

 

The sticker on the coin bag says: www.coincodes.com but I couldn´t find it on their website ???

 

The codes were originally on coincodes.com, however per his request Jeep'en Jumper will be handling the activations personally.

 

There were no problems or issues so please don't read anything into that, he thanked us for our help and decided that he would from this point handle the activations personally.

We are having technical difficulties trying to activate our 2006 Mississippi & 2006 Scotland geocoin.. Can someone please point us in the correct direction..

 

On the Mississippi coin we plugged in the MS# @ geocoinclub and received and error message..

 

On the Scotland coin, we went to CoinsAndPins.com and couldnt find anything about activation a coin..

Same thing here. I went to geocoinclub.com/code.php as it says on the coin packaging of the Mississippi coin. When I plugged in the code, I got a message that says the coin does not exist in their system.
