Mr.Yuck
Well, we gots the new stats tab, compliments of the bought out MyGeocachingProfile.com website. My Northernmost find, and furthest from home is This cache which had bogus coordinates in Arctic Canada. This cache is in reality, near St. Catharines, Ontario. Only 31 people found this long since archived cache, and I'll bet almost all of them have it as their Northernmost, and furthest from home. How do you suppose I would fix this? Is this an issue for writing to contact@Geocaching.com? And how do I know the other 30 finders even want this to be "fixed"? My issue aside, might as well have a thread. What is your Northernmost find, and furthest from home? Quote Link to comment

+edscott
It would seem that all locationless hides should be ignored when compiling statistics that involve locations, such as northernmost, furthest from home, states or countries visited etc... I've only done three of them and one shows up as my northernmost spot (and gave me an unearned souvenir until it mysteriously went away) The two others will probably each give me a state souvenir from a state that I've not cached in. I guess deleting the "found it" log would fix it. Quote Link to comment

+DragonsWest
I run my stats with GSAK - primarily because I can Lock details for certain caches. One, Corps of Discovery, which kept wandering around and placing me logging a cache in Alaska, New York or Missouri. Another has a fictitious placement date, which predates Geocaching by a few decades. I've made the necessary corrections, where I logged Corps of Discovery and actual publication date for the other, locking them so they won't be overwritten by subsequent loads of My Finds. I've got three finds in the Southern Hemisphere (in South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Tanzania) but I'd like to go Australia so that I can have a find on 5 different Continents. Heck, I'd like to go to Australia even if I don't find a cache. I saw that someone else posted their northern most find on a cache in Uppsala, Sweden. There's a conference I'd like to go to in Uppsala in March I think I might have a hard time convincing management to pay for it. I'm still hoping to get to South America in the next year or so. +Lime Candy
What's the farthest possible distance 'from home'? If the Earth is approx 24,000 miles in circumference I'd guess at 12,000 miles being the farthest, it's an 'as the crow flies' distance, after all. Anyone got a Farthest From Home over 12,000 miles? This question intrigued me. So I went to an antipod calcualtor. The closest cache to my antipod is Marion Island: Trypot Beach which is 11510 miles from me. Quote Link to comment
