  1. My finds get watched, until at least the next "Found it" log. (About half of my current list) Local caches that haven't been found for a while, if I find myself in that neighbourhood. DNF's that I could reasonably return to. Distant caches that I found interesting, or that I could check in on again in the future for maintenance. Puzzles I've solved, but haven't been able to get to.
  2. After looking at these, either I need to travel further, and/or make caching more of a priority when I do. But I suspect that saying "Sorry Mommy Padler and Little Girl Paddler, you had a nice run, but I need to improve my stats." wouldn't go over too well. 3. I have the IMG file for the October 7 version, usable on the Colorado/Oregon/Dakota series. I've uploaded it here, if anyone is looking for it while the main site is down. Ontario Trails Map (via dropbox) (I've renamed it for clarity, but I use the gmapsupp# format on my gps.)
  4. [quote ... a comb with several broken teeth. This comb with the broken teeth happens to align perfectly with this holey piece of wax paper, so now I have myself a kazoo! Since the ultrasonic vibrations of my new toy will suffice to keep the mosquitoes away, I no longer need the butt end of this fine Cuban cigar that I was smoking to deter them on the 20km hike to get here.
  5. It's usually a little slower on weekends. My first thought - but I'm GEless on the weekend, at least until I get around to fixing up my other laptop. - was that it looks like the west campgrounds at Sandbanks Provincial Park in Ontario. But unless they've very recently reversed the policy against geocaching in the parks, it can't be. I'll have a spin around the country tomorrow, if I can get away with it at work.
  6. And it's your turn now Stagrunner. But it looks like you just beat me to it.
  7. While there can't be many places in Canada where there is such a bend in the railway, there is a lot of Canada to look through, and a lot of track to follow. It is a good clear picture, so it's either surprisingly close to an urban area, or you've set your GE view to more detail. I'm having fun trying to trace it though.
  8. If it weren't for the description, it would seem like any other cache, and no-one would be the wiser. Now, if there were a souvenir for this one, that might be a different story.
  9. I can use these rusty nails, and see if my recent tetanus vaccination worked. (scratch) Oh no!! I didn't! Dying now, but I can use the whistle to call for help. (blows) Crap!! The whistle is broken. What have I done? I guess I'll leave my own lifeless corpse.
  10. I dropped a couple of coins in Ireland in mid-October, (one of my own, one on a mission), but the caches haven't been logged since then. It's only 6-7 weeks, but it would be nice to see either some movement or a confirmation that they are no longer alive. Is is too early to place them on the TB Rescue watchlist,? If so, what is considered a reasonable amount of time to wait? Can I post for the one that I don't own, or it that the owner's prerogative?
  11. I'm thinking it's along Quebec's North Shore, but I'm working from home and Google Earthless for the day so I can't compare the more particular areas I have in mind. Dam or waterfall, lake or reservoir, pylon corridors, rivers, smaller access road, so I would think it's some Quebec Hydro facility.
  12. Yellowknife's Northern Visitors Travel Bug Hotel and My World #3 are correct. Under the long established quiz rules, the next one is yours. -------------- I can't claim credit for this idea. The UK and Ireland forum has been running something similar for quite a while. Pup Patrol, I brought my myccr avatar here - I liked it, and it saved making a new one up. I really can't believe that anyone recognized it.
  13. Can anyone identify these geocaches?
  14. I think we've all given up on this one.
  15. I'm going to introduce all my bad ideas on Tuesdays from now on. How about a yard cache in a gated community? We can make it a PMO to keep the riffraff out.
  16. That marble will allow me to complete my 10,000 marble mosaic of the Mona Lisa! In exchange, I'll leave this old fax machine I found on the way here that I was going to CITO. But maybe the next person will have a car and be able to dispose of it properly. Hmm. Doesn't quite fit in the container, so I'll just leave it next to the cache.
  17. I don't bother heading out after TBs specifically. Too many caches list trackables, but they're long removed and not logged. I do track the ones that have been in my possession though, until they finally vanish though. I have 4 of my own TBs in inventory, but I may wait until spring to free them. Last month, I dropped three coins in Ireland - two of my own, and one traveller. One of mine was picked up from Slieve League, the others are in caches that haven't been logged since I was there. (Castle Leslie and Donegal's Stonehenge btw.)
  18. Wow, I can loan that brand new $1000 bill to my ex-son-in-law, he's always asking to borrow money. I am going to leave a piece of this rock that came from the moon!!!! It really really did, I went and got it myself when I went caching there last week. That looks like a moon rock!! (sniffs) It's green cheese! Perfect! A snack for my geomouse! I'll take the cheese, and leave some geomouse droppings.
  19. There are plenty of discussions on this in other areas of the forums, you can also look there for information. You have a few options. 1) Check the user ID. Did they log a surprising number of caches that day, or over a wide geographic area? Maybe a bot or a couch-cacher. Delete. 2) Does their online log say anything about the state of the physical log, or that they couldn't sign it for some reason? (I know I've found caches that I can't sign for some reason, but I say that online.) Delete at your discretion, depending how picky you want to be, since one of the few rules of this game is to sign the log. If they care, then they'll try to reclaim it, or send you a note. 2b) Some people like to find caches, but not bother signing them. Delete at your discretion. see above. 2c) Some people arrive at the cache area, look around unsuccessfully, then claim a find for getting there. 3) Remember that for some people, the numbers are the only thing that counts. Some of them do "cheat", but it's not as if anyone else is being penalized by their actions. If you think it's suspicious, then delete, and allow them to relog if they contact you and explain it. Most likely you'll never hear from them. Ultimately, it's your cache, and your rules.

  21. Just the right width to tighten some screws on my bike. I'll leave these Jack Chick tracts that some guy preaching at a street corner gave me.
