+simpjkee Posted February 27, 2010 Posted February 27, 2010 I didn't take this, I just found it on the net. Quote
+carolnbarney Posted February 28, 2010 Posted February 28, 2010 A sign sent to me via the Internet: 10-4!! Quote
+DazeDnFamily Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 First, I'll show you the sign, then I'll explain it..... What you don't see is the trail that follows the pond bank to the left. But, at the angle the sign is posted, it looks like there's only one known person that could use "foot traffic". We both doubled over in laughter when we saw this. Later! Quote
+brslk Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 A sign sent to me via the Internet: There is a lawsuit looking to be won. wow...it would be like my neighbour pointing out to crooks that I am not home and helping them steal stuff... Quote
Clan Riffster Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 There is a lawsuit looking to be won. I'm trying to determine if this silliness is funny as heck or simply foolish. The jury is still out. Quote
+Klatch Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 There is a lawsuit looking to be won. wow...it would be like my neighbour pointing out to crooks that I am not home and helping them steal stuff... Not home? How is that pointed out? Quote

+Viajero Perdido Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 It's not a road sign, but yes, this was on the way to a cache in Huehuetenango, Guatemala. (Yet another DNF.) The last point really means to say, Return the key and remote control to reception desk when checking out. Quote
+va griz Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 They meant that the doors are not to be used by customers, but I would think they could come up with better wording than "Not An Exit". Quote

+Doctroid Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 No picture but ran across a sign at a steep trail head the read: NO Wheelchairs Strollers Wagons Bikes Golf Carts Dogs or Other wheeled vehicles. dogs!!????!! Quote
Andronicus Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 So I was geocaching in New Brunswik last week. I saw several of these signs. (I didn't take this picture) Turns out that it is a fiddlehead sign. Not sure if that means there are fiddleheads near by to pick...? Quote
+hzoi Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 My internets are running veeeeerrrrrrry sloooooooowwwwwwwwwly at work today, so I'm just going to post a couple. This one's near Kloster Erbach, on the Rhein near Wiesbaden, but they're all over Germany. Frog crossing is actually pretty dangerous, they tend to slick up the roads during mating season if they're run over. So during mating season, the roads are lined with miles and miles (ok, kilometers and kilometers) of short fabric fences to block them from the roads. From a park near Blacksburg, Virginia. Quote
Tahosa and Sons Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 Look here for lots of funky and funny signs, there are probably some road signs in there someplace. Quote
+SmallsKC Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 Great one in Illinois. Very confusing. The other side. Quote
+Presence Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 I don't have a picture but my all time favorite sign that is quite common in Florida reads.. DO NOT MOLEST ALLIGATORS Quote
+Team Pixos Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 One in Waterton, AB was a lizard crossing sign In Vulcan, AB a sign in washroom said "all shoplifters would be vaporized" In Wayne, AB, please register camping spot at the saloon. Patrons of saloon do periodic spot checks. I'm not sure I'd want their patrons doing the checking. Quote
+frogcooke Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 I don't have a picture but my all time favorite sign that is quite common in Florida reads.. DO NOT MOLEST ALLIGATORS That reminds me of a sign I saw at a newish going to be rail trail and boat launch park area. Listed off things to do and not do includingg, DO NOT MOLEST ANIMALS. Apparently there is an issue with this? lol. Quote
+The_Incredibles_ Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 OK, nothing to do with caching, but my dad encountered this and many others signs like this in Malaysia... Quote

+CanadianRockies Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 One in Waterton, AB was a lizard crossing sign When I first saw that sign, I scratched my head. Did they really expect drivers to notice a salamander crossing the road and swerve/break to avoid running it over. Then I noticed that the "crossing" was a tunnel beneath the road. I guess the sign's purpose is simply to publicize the project. Here's a link that provides more details. The actual road sign only has a salamander silhouette -- no words. When we were visiting England and Wales, we were surprised to see Red Squirrel crossing signs. Red squirrels are a dime a dozen in Alberta, but it's a declining species in Great Britain. Quote
+ControlledInsanity Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 So I was geocaching in New Brunswik last week. I saw several of these signs. (I didn't take this picture) Turns out that it is a fiddlehead sign. Not sure if that means there are fiddleheads near by to pick...? I wouldn't be able to tell you why the sign has a fiddlehead on it, but I can tell you what it means. It indicates the River Valley Scenic Drive. The Scenic Drive follows the Trans-Canada hiwgway pretty closely in some parts, but as the name indicates it follows the river and the scenery is better Quote
knowschad Posted September 30, 2011 Posted September 30, 2011 Here's one from NH. Nice plug for New Hampshire. Quote

+Team Dennis Posted September 30, 2011 Posted September 30, 2011 I thought I'd posted this up years ago. I guess I didn't...at least not in this thread. I didn't actually see it while caching but it makes me laugh. Quote

+Roman! Posted October 1, 2011 Posted October 1, 2011 I wish I had a picture but it was near Deroche B.C., I passed it all the time on my way to go paragliding, this was about 10 years ago and it read: Discharge of firearms or molesting the geese is strictly prohibited. Quote

+WHAP Posted October 3, 2011 Posted October 3, 2011 (edited) Wish I had taken pictures, but there was construction and there was also driving to do. Just do a Google Image Search for "PennDOT Meadville, PA" and marvel at the sculpture garden/fence that is made entirely from roadsigns at the PennDOT facility there. It's over a 1/4 mile long, I believe. Every time you drive by you see new details. Edited October 3, 2011 by Dr_Gravity Quote
+Ry Dawg Posted October 30, 2011 Posted October 30, 2011 (edited) I've also found one that said "DUGWAY PROVING GROUNDS - NO TRESPASSING - USE OF DEADLY FORCE AUTHORIZED" but I didn't feel the need to hang around that one long... Edited October 30, 2011 by shotgun86 Quote
