+ZSandmann Posted July 13, 2006 Posted July 13, 2006 Well if you traded if they took it and left a Garmin they traded up, if a Magi - down. Right? Quote

ElementalJay Posted July 13, 2006 Posted July 13, 2006 I found a set of Oakley sunglasses in a remote cache once, but I DEFINITELY didn't have anything to trade even with, so I left them. The person who left them got them issued to them in Iraq and never used them. Quote
+The Leprechauns Posted July 13, 2006 Posted July 13, 2006 i found a dollordollar in one once !! The last day I went geocaching, I left a twenty dollar bill in the cache. Also, I am a Gold Member. Quote

+arpegio Posted July 13, 2006 Posted July 13, 2006 My girlfriend has been making custom-made earrings and dropping them in area caches -- the nice ones that aren't full of trash. Hopefully someone will appreciate them. Quote
+fishingdude720 Posted July 13, 2006 Posted July 13, 2006 the coolest thing i found in a cache was a brand new in the case pocketknife! Quote
+StarBrand Posted July 13, 2006 Posted July 13, 2006 Something like a $35 gift certificate for a local steakhouse is the best I have found. I left 4 coupons for a free sub sandwich and two $5's. Quote
+Coach Steve Posted July 13, 2006 Posted July 13, 2006 Best thing I found was a brand new Orvis fly rod, with case. I had to drive 70 miles on dirt roads to get this FTF. Quote
+cantuland Posted July 14, 2006 Posted July 14, 2006 I found a little radio in a cache. It came with earphones. It even had good batteries. I traded it for a working headset radio. Quote
+Lighteye Posted July 14, 2006 Posted July 14, 2006 (edited) my dollor is better That has to be one of the most......... oh, nevermind. I'm going back to the bar. I think that when you return to the bar, you might be rubbing elbows with him! Seriously though, for the OP, a nifty miniature multi-tool that I found in a cache in my first week, that now resides next to my compass in it's pouch. +jgreeno Posted July 14, 2006 Posted July 14, 2006 i found a dollor in one once !! Drive down to TN and follow TheStosh around, he routinely leaves his "Where's George" dollars in caches. Quote
+Team LaLonde Posted July 14, 2006 Posted July 14, 2006 One of the most unique things we've seen is a handmade chainmail keychain, made by VictoryMike. Quote
+Sparrowhawk Posted July 14, 2006 Posted July 14, 2006 (edited) My "Bug-eyed Sunglasses" Basically, they are gray, plastic sunglasses with big, round lenses that look like a fashion mistake from the 70's. I LOVE them for driving into the sunset light. I wore them once when my friend was driving. He told me they were dangerous for driving, take them off, please. I said, but I'm in the passenger seat, what are you talking about? Then he clarified... they were so rediculous-looking they interfered with other people's driving... one look at me with them on and they'd run off the road. Edited July 14, 2006 by Sparrowhawk Quote
Fiona Eliza & Florence Posted July 19, 2006 Posted July 19, 2006 The best thing I have had from a cache was a keyring....wooppee do! I know I have not had many finds but I am really dissapointed with the quality of stash. I always trade up just to try and improve the quality and to save myself the shame of someone knowing what $h1t I left. Quote
+TMAACA Posted July 19, 2006 Posted July 19, 2006 i found a dollordollar in one once !! The last day I went geocaching, I left a twenty dollar bill in the cache. Also, I am a Gold Member. Funny, I found a in a cache once Quote
+wildchld97 Posted July 20, 2006 Posted July 20, 2006 I found $10 in a cache once. Since I was almost out of gas and no couches to shake for spare change, my prayers to get home were answered. I had nothing in my geobag worth that much money so I just dumped all of my geo stuff in the ammo box and high tailed it to the gas station....thanking the geo gods the whole way. Quote
+Davispak Posted July 20, 2006 Posted July 20, 2006 I found a Hamster in one once......not sure what that meant? Quote
+wildchld97 Posted July 20, 2006 Posted July 20, 2006 I found a Hamster in one once......not sure what that meant? Dang..is that where I left him? I knew something was wrong when I brought back the TB that was supposed to go in there. Quote
+wimseyguy Posted July 20, 2006 Posted July 20, 2006 I have found a great big smile in every single cache I have ever found so far. ( and I have found a couple) I once found a rubber chicken keychain. It led to a rather substantial collection of unusual keychains, which led the the initial contents of my first hide. I still have a nice compass that I found in a cache once too. Quote
+PaperBlob Posted July 20, 2006 Posted July 20, 2006 Theater tickets! Pretty high face value too. At the play the cache owners surprised us by introducing themselves - they had a four-ticket subscription and used the other two tickets. Quote
+crunchberry Posted July 22, 2006 Posted July 22, 2006 Theatre tickets! That is too cool. After reading these forums - I am almost afraid of leaving the caches I have put together - but then I read this forum - and it gave me hope! Now if my dang GPS would just get here - UPS lost it! Or they are using it to get it here -dont know! Crunchberry Quote
+team travel pig Posted July 22, 2006 Posted July 22, 2006 A Texas geocoin... And a crisp, new dollar bill origami'd into a shirt... Quote

+readmore Posted August 1, 2006 Posted August 1, 2006 (edited) Pretty much everything I see in the caches in my area is junk. It's kind of sad, but I think the best thing I've seen so far is a ceramic figurine (didn't take it). Before my first geocache, I got the Idiot's Guide to Geocaching. I was getting excited reading the suggested items to trade--DVDs, computer software, games, etc. I was a little disappointed when I got into the field and saw that a lot of it was used dollar store stuff and party favor type games. Luckily my kids like that kind of stuff! For me the fun is just finding it and logging it anyway. Edited August 1, 2006 by readmore Quote
wandering360 Posted August 1, 2006 Posted August 1, 2006 The coolest thing I have found was a Vietnam Veterans coin from "The Wall" . I put it in a hard plastic coin case and still have it on my desk. Quote

+wesleykey Posted August 1, 2006 Posted August 1, 2006 I found a small child in a large cache once. Quote
+Thrak Posted August 1, 2006 Posted August 1, 2006 I found a totally awesome case of poison oak............. I've seen a $10 bill and a $5 certificate but I didn't have a good trade for them so I left them for the next cacher. I'm pretty fond of Indian Head Pennies though and I've found a few of those. Sure you can buy them for about $0.90 at a coin shop but it's not the monetary value I like. I just think they're cool. Quote
wheetree Posted August 2, 2006 Posted August 2, 2006 I found a small child in a large cache once. And I thought Hamstercaching was extreme. Do these go feral if not traded out soon? Quote
+nv4life Posted August 2, 2006 Posted August 2, 2006 We found a CORONA (warm) in one cache and at our next cache stop of the day, not far from the first...we found another warm corona...didn't take or drink them! Quote
+q22q17 Posted August 2, 2006 Posted August 2, 2006 My son won Chess Master at his school a year ago, and when we went caching in the summer, we found a chess set in a cache. He thought that was pretty cool. Also, I'm an avid Disney pin trader/collector, so I love to find Disney pins in caches. But I'm always on the look out for anything I can turn into a travel bug, a keychain, or even some McToys. That's how I give back or trade up. I put YOUR junk back into the game and just track it around the world with a TB tag and a unique number...... Quote
