  1. My goal is to place caches where the seeker comes away with more than just another number for their stats. very well said!
  2. it all depends on the cahce to me. if it was a quick cache and dash theres really nothing to say. if it was a crazy journey and you did alot to find the cache ect.. then usually there is a lot more to include in the log, like alabama says... Hide them the way you like to find them... thats why i make caches like the one above.
  3. It is really worth taking the time to place a really great cache and getting detailed logs of finders because the journey was great. it shure beats the once a day log "quick grab TFTC" i know not everyone likes an 11 mile bushwack but i love reading the logs when they come in for some of my harder caches. T-lakes desolate Journey edit: spelling
  4. Briansnat...I'm in love with your wife...
  5. I would say a lot of retired people and families geocache, but then there are people like me, im 21 and just love hiking and wandering in the woods, i geocache by myself just because i enjoy being outside and wandering around without any direction.
  6. hahah thats awesome! reminds me of something i would do...thx for the smile thepropers!
  7. do you hug the trees after counting them? when people stare at me and i'm trying to cache i just break out and hug a tree untill they look away...one time a guy asked me if i was a denderfeeliac....i just nodded with a smile
  8. sounds to me like colorado is becoming a police state like NY. screw them all!
  9. what are some of the stencils you guys use to identify your caches as caches. what do you make them from/ how do you make them? thx! pictures would help!
  10. I think it would be nice to see what everyones favorite geocaching related website is besides the main geocaching.com site. Weather its buying swag, merchandise, good reading...whatever it is, if its caching related share your favorite sites to sit and browse when you are bored/ feeling addicted. I have read threads where people have given out lots of websites for pen stamps, geo news and a bunch of other goodies, so please share!
  11. A picture from a recent cache and mountain hike... click picture...
  12. thats what sucks, if you have a really nice item you want to make into a bug, the nicer the item the better chance you have of never seeing it again...sigh...
  13. if someone tagged there name on my tb i would personally drive (if its possible) to there house and spraypaint my name on the side of it. then i would go to the door and kick there a**...hope that helps! well if someone just hung a tag i wouldnt mind but if they defaced it by writing there name on it then its on!
  14. i tok mine 7,000 miles in 2 weeks once, i'v rolled it over a few times atleast and i also use it for alot more things than geocaching
  15. Imo i don't think the log needs to be signed, for whatever reasons you have for not signing are fine with me. if a cacher questions my not signing i tell them to ask me questions about the cache that only a finder would know to clear up any confusion.
  16. yea it happens to the best of us you are not alone, i was carrying mine on a strap around my neck while hiking in the adirondacks last winter, I didnt realize it wasnt around my neck untill i got to the bottom of the peak. i wasnt about to hike back up 3 miles with an elevation change of over 3000 ft through 4 foot snow drifts. so i bought another one
  17. yea they say gas will be up to $3.50 in NY by the weekend....
  18. i found a cache one time that was in a softball, but the catch was it was a softball in a field of 1000 softballs. yea we had to search every last one and it was about the 3rd to last that had the cache in it lol.
  19. as long as you dont have to "dig" up a cache then i'm cool with it. if its in a hole and covered by some sticks and leaves thats just a good hiding spot but digging up a cache a couple feet underground is not cool.
  20. definitly country caches, no concrete jungle for me!!
  21. 9V cordless drill w/ bits and it worked! i was happy!
