There were a total of 1500 coins produced. 900 of those will be available in the "open" sale at 7pm on the 12th. The remaining 600 will be split between the Members-Only sale (for members of GONIL/CIGA/LEGS) and direct distribution to the 3 Illinois geo-groups. Edited January 11, 2006 by Stunod Quote
ParentsofSAM Posted January 12, 2006 Posted January 12, 2006 WHya is there 3 sale times for non-members. Does that mean we can come and buy at any one of those times? I am going to try to get one tonight at 8p est, but if I don't make it will I have another chance tomorrow morning? Quote
Parrolet Posted January 12, 2006 Posted January 12, 2006 Yes, that is what they are doing. Spreading the coins out for the different time zones. Quote

+teamcarramrod1 Posted January 12, 2006 Posted January 12, 2006 Those are awesome. I'm so glad we finally have our own coin. That reminds me, our team needs to join CIGA. To the above poster, I know where Carmi is, we built the Wal-Mart there. Quote

+Cornerstone4 Posted January 13, 2006 Posted January 13, 2006 Got some tonight! Good thing I checked early by my PC clock! Quote
+sawblade5 Posted January 13, 2006 Posted January 13, 2006 I had my Watch synchronized to that clock. So I got when it first came up. Quote
+MikeOtt Posted January 13, 2006 Posted January 13, 2006 What did I do wrong. I saw the hour glass, refreshed the sceeen and the coin was gone. How do you actually order the coin Quote
+Big JohnP Posted January 13, 2006 Posted January 13, 2006 I can't believe what happened. I was refreshing until it went on sale. The second I touched the thing, the whole thing disapeared. Someone tell me those coins cannot sell in about a second and a half. Did I do something wrong or what? Quote
+Marky Posted January 13, 2006 Posted January 13, 2006 I was in a few minutes before 5, saw them come up and they were gone by the time I clicked. Oh well. --Marky Quote
+Big JohnP Posted January 13, 2006 Posted January 13, 2006 I had my Watch synchronized to that clock. So I got when it first came up. I was also on the very second they were up for sale, but the minute you touch the screen. it disapeared. Quote
+Go JayBee Posted January 13, 2006 Posted January 13, 2006 What's up with this? Nobody sent me a code! This stinks...I am a member of the GCC and can't buy them? Quote
+WeatherednBoston Posted January 13, 2006 Posted January 13, 2006 I wanted to add that I think 3.50 for shipping one coin is a bit high. But I suppose that would cover the paypal fees...I will probably do the same thing when I come out with a coin so I shouldn't complain. Quote
+FunkoCachers Posted January 13, 2006 Posted January 13, 2006 i was in a t 3 minutes after and the only ones availabel was the members only. Booooooo hisssss Quote
+sawblade5 Posted January 13, 2006 Posted January 13, 2006 (edited) What's up with this? Nobody sent me a code! This stinks...I am a member of the GCC and can't buy them? The Geocoin Club wasn't the sponsoring club on this sale. Edited January 13, 2006 by sawblade5 Quote
+robert Posted January 13, 2006 Posted January 13, 2006 What's up with this? Nobody sent me a code! This stinks...I am a member of the GCC and can't buy them? The member sale was for Illinois club members, IIRC, not GCC. Got an extra one. Quote
+GeoBrowns Posted January 13, 2006 Posted January 13, 2006 (edited) I tried and couldn't proceed because of the access code thing. What's up with that? I thought it was open to non-members or did I read it wrong? Guess I did. Edited January 13, 2006 by GeoBrowns Quote
docdigit Posted January 13, 2006 Posted January 13, 2006 There were two sales. One for non-member and a members only. Doc Quote
+sawblade5 Posted January 13, 2006 Posted January 13, 2006 (edited) Remember if you missed this sale you have 2 more chances to get it. Look at the On Deck Que to see what times they come up. Also they may be cancelled order that might come up too (where someone doesn't complete thier Pay Pal process). I have seen this before with some other coin sales, I actually got in on one this way. +-SuMa- Posted January 13, 2006 Posted January 13, 2006 That was cracy! They started at 01:58 and ended at 02:01 with the free order. regards Marc Quote
+AtlantaGal Posted January 13, 2006 Posted January 13, 2006 I got in at about 7:56 EST for 4. Shipping was $1.79 w/a $2 handling fee. Not too bad. Glad I checked early! Quote
+GeoBrowns Posted January 13, 2006 Posted January 13, 2006 Hmmmm, 6 AM and 7 PM my time on a Friday, guess I'll be looking for a trade. Quote
+teamcarramrod1 Posted January 13, 2006 Posted January 13, 2006 Man, I didn't realize they would go that fast. Are there people that buy tons of these just for Ebay or something. I didn't get on until 7:08 and I was wayyyy to late. I guess I'll try tomorrow. I really need to get one since I do live in Illinois and all. Quote
+FlyinV Posted January 13, 2006 Posted January 13, 2006 We got one, but have a question. Why does it say $3.10 for S&H and we were charged $3.50? Did this happen to anyone else? Quote
docdigit Posted January 13, 2006 Posted January 13, 2006 uh guys..they are on sale RIGHT NOW!!! Doc Quote

docdigit Posted January 13, 2006 Posted January 13, 2006 (edited) Got me and the sale is over... (unless you are an Illinoisan) Doc Edited January 13, 2006 by docdigit Quote
+WeatherednBoston Posted January 13, 2006 Posted January 13, 2006 Im in Mass and I was charged 3.50. Surprised there are more coins available...perhaps alot of single coin buyers cancelled after seeing the price total after shipping. But hey 11.00 for one coin is reasonable...better than 35- on ebay. Quote
+teamcarramrod1 Posted January 13, 2006 Posted January 13, 2006 I'm kinda new to the geocoin thing so I have a question before I do this. Would it be bad geo-ettiquite for me to go back and get a few more for trade tomorrow on top of the ones I want to keep. I mean, if I don't get them they ebayers will, right? Quote
+sawblade5 Posted January 13, 2006 Posted January 13, 2006 NO, I don't think it would be a problem to buy more for trade. Quote
