Can't make it to Chicago but I'll have to try to get up there sometime to do the Bob's, it sounds like fun. We are from Sullivan, IL. It's nice to see another local cacher on here!

I don't see why there is even a discussion here. If you think it's allright to use a replica coin, then move it along if you see one. If you are like me and you think replicas are weaksauce, leave it in the cache.

Sent paypal for my coin today. Thanks!

Offer for trade sent. Fingers crossed.

I say go for it! I do like the idea of keeping it MOC for a few months then changing it to a regular cache. I recently signed up for a one year membership for the following reasons. A. Caches on a route - haven't used it yet but I'm sure it's awesome. B. Support the hobby - $30 isn't that much shine-ola and I'd like to see more growth in the hobby C. Members only caches - there are 0 MOC's with 50 miles of my house. I was hoping for a few more caches close to home but no dice.

I "found" My First Geocoin Tb!
teamcarramrod1 replied to Nomad and the Librarians's topic in Trackables
The first time I ever heard about geocoins was when I found an 05 Idaho coin on a TB. That got me started on buying them. Now I just need to find one to trade for to have for myself. -
Yeah, I'll bet the seller has gotten a ton of emails. I'm sure it was an honest mistake but let this be a lesson to all sellers that just because people on here know it's a pre-sale doesn't mean we are the only people who will buy. Surely ebay has some sort of group email to buyers? Again, I'm sure it was an honest mistake and I'm satisfied with waiting since they seem to have a good rep. on here. I think it's good that it was brought to attention on here so maybe it'll save some future sellers some headaches.

2 member of Teamcarramrod will be in attendance probably the 6th-9th. This will be our first time. Is there anything we should know? Is there anything we should bring besides camping gear, GPSr, etc...

^I concur. I'm in the same boat as you. I just started this thread to make sure I wasn't the only one that got that response. I didn't know if the seller is on here or not and ebayers aren't always honest.

Has anyone on here recieved TFTC coins that were on Ebay. I bought a couple and haven't gotten them while others left feedback shortly after. I emailed the seller and they "forgot" to put in the description that they didn't have them in hand at the time. They admitted that it may have been misleading so I let it fly. I don't want to accuse the seller but I'd like to have my coins that said ships in 2-9 days in the description. Nobody has left negative feedback on this issue so it makes me wonder what's up. On the same note, has anyone recieved Illinois coins? How long did it take to get USA coins?

I'm kinda new to the geocoin thing so I have a question before I do this. Would it be bad geo-ettiquite for me to go back and get a few more for trade tomorrow on top of the ones I want to keep. I mean, if I don't get them they ebayers will, right? -

Man, I didn't realize they would go that fast. Are there people that buy tons of these just for Ebay or something. I didn't get on until 7:08 and I was wayyyy to late. I guess I'll try tomorrow. I really need to get one since I do live in Illinois and all. -

Those are awesome. I'm so glad we finally have our own coin. That reminds me, our team needs to join CIGA. To the above poster, I know where Carmi is, we built the Wal-Mart there. -
This weekend I picked up a TB from a cache in Missouri. I logged that I got it and everything was fine. This was TB XXXX18. Now when I go to log caches it shows that I have the TB in addition to TBXXXX16. I have no idea where that one came from. Apparently it's owned by the same person but why is it showing that I have it? What can I do to amend it?

I agree with whoever said it up there, I don't think there is such a thing as a bad cache. Sometimes I like to find easy ones, sometimes I like easy terrain and a difficult find and sometimes I might want to sneak inside and area with armed guards like 007 to find a cache. I think that as long as it is rated correctly it's cool.
