+Team Grizzly
A couple of caching buddies and I were discussing today who would be the best fictional geocacher, meaning most creative, tenacious, physically able, etc.. We came up with no other alternative than Indiana Jones. Anyone disagree? Any others come to mind? Quote Link to comment
bnolan
I would have to nominate Superman: x-ray vision to find those hidden caches can fly from cache to cache for racking up the finds Quote Link to comment
+wildearth2001
inspector gadget comes to mind Quote Link to comment
+Gizmo & Brazin
Sherlock Holmes is another one who comes to mind. He would never waste his time looking in the wrong area. He would simply spot a broken twig and deduce where the hiding spot was based on the direction of the break. And he would never even have to do the actual work to retrieve it...that's what Watson was there for! Quote Link to comment
uperdooper
how about the character tom cruise played in the mission impossible movies? Quote Link to comment
+Team Grizzly
I would have to nominate Superman: Super-man's 5/5 = Kryptonite Crystal Cache, placed by Lex Luther. Quote Link to comment
+RichardMoore
Professor Xavier, founder and leader of the X-Men. He could use his mental powers to make the cache owners think that he found the caches, then he could log them and the cache owners wouldn't delete the logs. Quote Link to comment
+GrizzlyJohn
Oh yea Superman. Close second would be the Invisible Man. He would not have to wait around if there are non-geocachers in the area. Quote Link to comment
uperdooper
Oh yea Superman. Close second would be the Invisible Man. He would not have to wait around if there are non-geocachers in the area. oh yeah. i can see the muggles now. OH NO! IT'S A FLOATING AMMO BOX! WHAT IS OSAMA DOING NOW! CALL THE POLICE! +SBPhishy
I'll second the Indiana Jones nomination. Where's Indiana Cojones? Quote Link to comment
+Mastifflover
How about Steve the Alligator Hunter. "look theres another ammo box, isn't she a beauty. Krikey!!" Quote Link to comment
+Darkmoon
Thanks guys, I just woke the wife as I am laughing so hard at these posts! I would vote myself for the girl who played the Relic Hunter, growlllllllllllll...I would go caching with her anytime! Darkmoon Quote Link to comment
+robert
I'll second the Indiana Jones nomination. Where's Indiana Cojones? Logging his DNF's. Quote Link to comment
+RockyRiver
I think Danial "The Cacher" Boone is the man to beat. Or how about That caching team Lewis and Clark the Cachers. Or that other team The Three Cacheteers. The only problem with Superman is that people would start using lead containers and Superman would be back to a normal person like us. I can see it now on the rules section of Geo caching " No Food, No Kryptonite, No weopons are allowed in caches". Edited March 14, 2004 by RockyRiver Quote Link to comment
polar69
Never wondered what Saddam was doing down that hole in Iraq ? Quote Link to comment
+Salvelinus
Lewis and Clark! They actually hid some too! ...or Macgyver Indiana Jones would mostly be caching in cache poor areas. Salvelinus Edited March 14, 2004 by Salvelinus Quote Link to comment
+TeamJiffy
I have to believe it would be the characters from Star Trek. Checkov: Okay... the tricorder says the cache is exactly there! We got it captain! I'll just sign it and put it back. Kirk: Good work, Chekov. Sulu, where is the next cache?" Sulu: Captain, it's at 37 23 mark 201 and -122 55 mark 465. Kirk: Thank you, Sulu. Kirk pulls out communicator, and speaks to Scotty, on Enterprise Kirk: Scotty! Scotty: Aye, sir? Kirk: Scotty, beam us to 37 23 mark 201 and -122 55 mark 465. Scotty: You'll be there in just a wee moment, Captain. Energize! The crew fades out, ready to find another cache... Quote Link to comment
+aka Monkey
I'll second the Indiana Jones nomination. Where's Indiana Cojones? Looking for fortune and glory, kid. Someone mentioned Star Trek, but failed to mention Q. Being omnipotent, he could simply sign every log book without leaving the comfort of the captain's quarters. And I realize he's not fictional, but Theodore Roosevelt came to mind. Quote Link to comment
uperdooper
Never wondered what Saddam was doing down that hole in Iraq ? sometimes. his hands were free, weren't they? Quote Link to comment

+welch
Some Jedi off star wars. They can convince cache owners to notify them of new placements right away. "you will call me with the coords. as you are done, you will call me with the coords. as you are done" And one of those sabers would make quick work of any thorny plants Quote Link to comment

+Prairie Dog
Guys, who better than Laura Croft? She's a total babe and can come up with any cache. She would would laugh in the face of "the Tube Torcher". "Tube Torcher" Cache Edited March 15, 2004 by Prairie Dog 76 Quote Link to comment

+Johnnie Stalkers
So many come to mind. I'll have to second Indiana and Lara ( I like Angelina but I thought she was a poor Lara Croft ) Not fictional: Hemingway. Fictional: Roland (From the Stephen King's Dark Tower Series) Quote Link to comment
+Johnnie Stalkers
God I'm confused. Is this a fictional or nonfictional entry? Quote Link to comment

+the8re
I think Dirk Pitt would make a great cacher and his side kick Al. He did find the Titanic. OMG. I was just scrolling through to the end before posting this choice! w00t for Cussler! The hardest cache ever: The Promised Land. Took over a million people 40 years to find it! But the best cacher ever has GOT to be Bruce Almight. Heck, if he can dig up Hoffa... -T Quote Link to comment

+Team Grizzly
Okay, now what about the best fictional cache hider/placer? I'm thinking One-eyed Willie off of the Goonies, but I guess maybe Lex Luther would be up there too. Quote Link to comment
+Divine
God I'm confused. Is this a fictional or nonfictional entry? Best Fictional Geocacher? Quote Link to comment
+boulist44
I propose non other than "Pink Panther", why you may ask ? I don't know, just like the colour Quote Link to comment
+GEO*Trailblazer 1
JESUS He has the birds eye view. He knows where all the Treasures are. And has more Treasure cached in Heaven than any other. And has laid down his life for ALL Geocachers. What more could you ask from another Geocacher than for him to lay down his life for all the others.. Mel will probably thank me for this Quote Link to comment
+sept1c_tank
I think Dirk Pitt would make a great cacher... Well, Dirk Pitt would certainly be a good choice, but how about Team NUMA? Some of the members would include Dirk, Al, Kurt, Joe, Admiral Sandecker, Gamay, and St. Julian Purlmetter (a must for puzzle caches). And don't forget Clive himself. Although he's a real treasure hunter, he usually appears, fictionally, in his own books. In case you're not familiar with Clive Cussler, he's a real life treasure hunter (and I'd bet he geocaches). +Snoogans
I can't believe no one has said Dirk Gently yet. If Douglas Adams was still alive.......Dirk Gently: Holistic Geocacher. Sn gans Quote Link to comment
