knowschad
Considering that actual polls need permission to post here, I will assume that you are simply starting a topic of conversation, and not actually taking a poll. You ask a very difficult question, but generally, any cache that elicits a pleasant surprise, be it a surprising view, a surprising bit of history, a surprising style of camo. Quote Link to comment

docsigma
I haven't found many caches, but so far, the best way I can describe my "favorite geocache type" is any geocache where I literally say "Whoa!" outloud when I find it. Quote Link to comment
dfx
The one that gives me a smiley Quote Link to comment
Mick-n-Nick
A cache my family will seek with me...without complaints from the little tykes! (Believe me, these can be few and far between at times ) Quote Link to comment

Spraginator
Thanks for your responses. I was more looking along the lines of "traditional, puzzle, muti, etc". Quote Link to comment
L0ne.R
What is your favorite geocache type and why? When it's done right I'd say the Letterbox Hybrid is my favorite cache type. But most are done incorrectly - no stamp in the box. Or done poorly - a stamp that has no tie-in to the theme of the box or the location, just something the kids didn't want anymore so they threw it into a cache and called it a letterbox hybrid. If done right they are my favorite - a stamp that matches the theme, ideally a one-of-a-kind handcarved stamp image, next best thing a commercial stamp that matches the location or theme. My second favorite cache type.....the Traditional - large enough to comfortably fit at least one small travelbug, in a watertight container, in a nice location, D/T levels not more then 3.5, with a CO who cares. +Ecylram
My favorite is probably the "Event" type. Second favorite would be the Traditional. Quote Link to comment

the4dirtydogs
Thanks for your responses. I was more looking along the lines of "traditional, puzzle, muti, etc". I like traditionals the best, especially when the camo is well done. I like event caches too. Edited April 11, 2011 by the4dirtydogs Quote Link to comment
bflentje
I suspect the OP wants to know what TYPE of cache you prefer. While I agree with others that I do like any type of cache that gives me a smiley, I am particularly fond of webcam caches. Edited April 11, 2011 by bflentje Quote Link to comment
Sharks-N-Beans
Hands down, a good multi. It's fun to see a CO "work" an area and use the saturation flexibility. We also like the traditional series leading to a mystery cache for the same reasons, but on a grander scale. A good multi can offer an afternoon of fun w/ the best finds per gallon. +StarBrand
Take me somewhere [scenic, historic, little known, interesting, otherwise cool] and include some kind of [walk, hike, ride, drive] and then tell me why you brought me there. After that any cache that is nearby becomes a bonus. Quote Link to comment
gsmX2
A virtual because I can always find them. Quote Link to comment
lamoracke
A virtual because I can always find them. I don't know, I DNFed a virtual in Idaho once. Learned you had to find a physical thing to give you the coords of the actual virtual. We could not find the physical thing. Personally I like Wherigos best. Quote Link to comment

Thrak
Ammo cans in the country with a great view or other reason that makes for a great location. Virtual caches with a "Now THAT'S cool!" factor. Quote Link to comment
teamtnt60s
Mrs team and I both like the old cemetery caches. I know we've been having some issues with these, but to us, we love'em. Quote Link to comment
KBLAST
I actually love the Wherigos. I have to be honest, though, that I like the one I created more than the ones I've found. I love the idea behind them and see lots of cool potential. Too bad they are so hard to create and execute well. Quote Link to comment
WRASTRO
A nice walk, a well thought out placement and an appropriate container. I am pretty easy! Quote Link to comment
teamajk
My favorites are puzzle caches, particularly the "solve at your desk type." I get almost as big a rush out of figuring out a hard puzzle and getting "success" on a geochecker as in finding an actual cache. It's just a different type of "I found it"! The possibilities for solving puzzles are endless ... it doesn't bother me to work on puzzles for caches I'll probably never find. I can work on puzzles in countries all over the world that I may never visit, puzzles for caches that have been archived, or have terrain levels I'd be incapable of managing. I can work on puzzles when there is a foot of snow on the ground, or it's pouring rain, etc. I'm very happy when I am able to make the find on a puzzle I've solved, as it means I've had to go that extra mile to get it. Thanks for asking! Quote Link to comment
Michaelcycle
I think the name might give you a hint The kind I like best of all are multis that take you on a nice journey (bikable, of course) and show you interesting things along the way. We did one Sunday that took us past multiple examples of a local woodcarvers work, including his workshop, and ended with a decent size container hidden in a Wildlife Management area that we had never stopped in before. Great 25 mile ride out and back, one "smilie" but lots of smiles!! Edited April 13, 2011 by Michaelcycle Quote Link to comment
