  1. We cached in Bermuda on a cruise. We had a blast! The first day we rode buses and walked. THAT was a long day, but we saw things that we would have never seen. The second day we rented a scooter. Now that was an adventure. Besides driving on the "wrong" side of the road, the way they drive there makes Atlanta seem like a cakewalk. We could not have had a better time. Why go there if you're not gonna cache?
  2. Nope, don't see us doing many, if any of these. Seems kind of pointless to me. This seems more like an idea that a government bureaucrat would dream up on a slow day to justify his existence. Have fun if you want. We have better things to do than attempt to make a palace guard smile.
  3. I carry a Maxpedition Versipack (medium). Plenty of room. It contains the camera, a bag of log replacements, two rechargeable Streamlights, a lensatic compass, extra AA batteries, small SWAG, extra pens, and a SIG 245 with room left over. Easy to carry, although the better half of the team calls it my purse.
  4. Mrs team and I both like the old cemetery caches. I know we've been having some issues with these, but to us, we love'em.
  5. As another caching cop, we found out about geocaching because I got out with a "suspicious vehicle" and learned of it. As a consequence, most of the cops in the county dept. I work at now know about geocaching from my involvement, so we're a cache friendly bunch. I also get calls from the local narcs to find out if it's a drug drop or a cache. If you're confronted by the locals while caching, just tell them what you're up to. The vast majority of us are just normal folks doing a job they make TV shows about.
  6. We found out in a kind of left-handed way. As a police officer, I was on patrol and found a car with out of state plates in an unusual place. I called it in and got out to check out the car. As I was looking through the window, a family walked out of the woods nearby. I talked to them and they explained about geocaching. After they left, I called my wife and asked her to get on the computer and check it out. That was a little over a year ago and we found our 1000th cache last month. I'd like to meet them again to thank them.
