Rupert2 Posted February 14, 2006 Posted February 14, 2006 I want one! Ah, the good ole days of jamboree... Quote
Thorny1 Posted February 14, 2006 Posted February 14, 2006 I'll want a several of this one, too. There's a lot of interest in my family for this one T1 Quote
ChileHead Posted February 14, 2006 Posted February 14, 2006 A coin that I'll actually release (and keep one in my collection)! Just some caution though to those who want to use these with your dens/packs/troops ... there was another thread opened recently by someone who released a TB with his scouts. They were having fun watching its progress until somebody used it for their own agenda. A person who had issues with the scouts policies posted anti scout notes on the bug page and held the bug 'ransom' until their demands were met. As with any internet related activity, please be prepared to explain this type of activity if it happens to you, or be prepared to filter it. There are a lot of jerks in the world and unfortunately some of them geocache. Quote
Eartha Posted February 14, 2006 Posted February 14, 2006 We don't need to draw that negative thread into this thread too. It was moving along so nicely. Let's keep it that way. Thanks Think happy thoughts. Quote
maya112 Posted February 14, 2006 Posted February 14, 2006 my whole family would be interested. I'll take a few. Quote
Kealia Posted February 15, 2006 Posted February 15, 2006 The coin features a vintage scout saluting with the USA Flag in the background. The reverse of the coin features the Scout sign along with the Scout Oath which all scouts live by. Am I the only one who thought this was funny? Quote
KSWader Posted February 16, 2006 Author Posted February 16, 2006 Just a reminder that the coins go on sale tonight. See the first post for information. Quote
AtlantaGal Posted February 16, 2006 Posted February 16, 2006 I predict these are sold out in a minute Quote
footTRAX Posted February 16, 2006 Posted February 16, 2006 I won't be by my computer in a couple of hours! Will somebody buy 2 for me? I promise to pay you back! PLEASE! PRETTY PLEASE! Quote

IceCreamMan Posted February 16, 2006 Posted February 16, 2006 Is anyone else having a problem accessing the geocoinstore sight? Quote
Team Weathergirl Posted February 17, 2006 Posted February 17, 2006 Is anyone else having a problem accessing the geocoinstore sight? I've been logged into it since last night Quote
KSWader Posted February 17, 2006 Author Posted February 17, 2006 I was jut able to get into the site. Seems to be working now. Quote
ChileHead Posted February 17, 2006 Posted February 17, 2006 (edited) what happened? They never showed up for sale! Edit: nevermind. They disappeared from the top and took a while to show up on the bottom (at least a minute) Edited February 17, 2006 by ChileHead Quote
nicolo Posted February 17, 2006 Posted February 17, 2006 Woohoo! Got 3, it took a while for the coin to drop. Quote
AtlantaGal Posted February 17, 2006 Posted February 17, 2006 Got mine. They were a little late to drop. Quote
sawblade5 Posted February 17, 2006 Posted February 17, 2006 The coin dropped a few secs late, but I got 2 of them. I wonder if this a load balancing practice. Quote
Flooded Tree Posted February 17, 2006 Posted February 17, 2006 I got 5.... anything for a good cause! Quote
ParentsofSAM Posted February 17, 2006 Posted February 17, 2006 I got 2, I had to support the scouts. Have FUN at Jamboree! Even though I DO NOT LIKE buying coins form that store! Quote
GrnXnham Posted February 17, 2006 Posted February 17, 2006 5 minutes and some are still available. Quote
tokencollector Posted February 17, 2006 Posted February 17, 2006 I got a bit worried when it didn't drop, but I got a half dozen. I hope they package them properly so they don't get loose in the mail. I'm also a bit surprides that they lasted at least a few minutes. I expected them to disappear more quickly. Just checked back they ARE gone now. Still, available for more than 2 minutes is better than thing have been! Quote
bickhart814 Posted February 17, 2006 Posted February 17, 2006 Got 5 that was weird how that works? Glad to get them though. bickhart814 Quote
TeamHopewell Posted February 17, 2006 Posted February 17, 2006 Got 5! I know some geocaching scouts that will love them. Quote
prntr1 Posted February 17, 2006 Posted February 17, 2006 Got mine in, got throttled at the last minute and had to run to a different computer, but I had it ready!!! Quote
KSWader Posted February 17, 2006 Author Posted February 17, 2006 Thanks for everyone that has purchased so far. There is another chance for some coins tomorrow during the day. This is to help some of the international collectors have a chance. Thanks for supporting our scouts! Quote
AtlantaGal Posted February 17, 2006 Posted February 17, 2006 What happens when you get throttled? blank screen? Cause I had a little icon in the corner, but that was there after 1 refresh. Quote
prntr1 Posted February 17, 2006 Posted February 17, 2006 What happens when you get throttled? blank screen? Cause I had a little icon in the corner, but that was there after 1 refresh. The way I "think" it works is that the site won't let you reload if you have it refreshed too much?? I hit it with 2 minutes left, waited minute 45 seconds hit it again showed 6 seconds left, hit it again and got a blank screen. Quote
Team Weathergirl Posted February 17, 2006 Posted February 17, 2006 Got 5...good to hand out to boys making Eagle...first time I did "combat ordering". Got anxious when it disappeared for a couple minutes....thought I lost the chance. Good cause.... Quote
trippy1976 Posted February 17, 2006 Posted February 17, 2006 Throttling is set to limit your refreshes to 30 per minute. Some people just hammer the site prior to a sale. It contributed to the hamsters having to be changed out this afternoon. Unless you're refreshing too fast, you'll see a warning notice when you hit the halfway mark. That should give you a heads up to calm down on the F5 key Quote
ParentsofSAM Posted February 17, 2006 Posted February 17, 2006 When you are throttled the screen goes blue and a message in orange is at the top saying you have hit the throttle limit and you have to wait 1 minute to refresh again. Quote
Ladycacher Posted February 17, 2006 Posted February 17, 2006 It dropped for a sec and I got one. Thank goodness! I also got my 300th cache today!!!!!!!!!!!!! YYYYEEEEAAAAHHHHH!!!!! Quote
bickhart814 Posted February 17, 2006 Posted February 17, 2006 Itchy F5 Finger A new phenomenon that presents itself just prior to a sale. We reserve the right to restrict the number of refreshes you can do on the store to preserve our bandwidth and improve store performance. Watch the F5 key! When sales are really hot, we throttle page loads. If you exceed the set throttle you will be temporarily unable to see the listings. bickhart814 Quote
Big JohnP Posted February 17, 2006 Posted February 17, 2006 Got a few also. No problems with the refresh. Stopped my firewall for a couple of minutes so I could order. Screen came on instantly. Then I turned on the firewall and shut the backdoor. Quote
xfalcon1 Posted February 17, 2006 Posted February 17, 2006 (edited) whats up with the break in the store hours, i wanted two coins and it wouldn't let me click on two coins,it gave me one so i went back to try for two and then its closed until 12 pm on the 17th? Not everyone can be ordering coins at 12pm on a Workday! why would you be open in the evening ( a good time) and the go to the middle of the next day? Edit: oh i read KSwader's note, Sucks i missed these Edited February 17, 2006 by xfalcon1 Quote

Blue Canary Posted February 17, 2006 Posted February 17, 2006 Sigh, Wanted one, but by the time the website let me in none were available Quote
amagrud Posted February 17, 2006 Posted February 17, 2006 I got an extra, and would be willing to trade it for a Mississippi LE. E-mail me if interested. (Made this offer for my Bigfoot extra also, only want 1 Mississippi LE, so 1st trade offer gets taken.) Quote
The_Proffens Posted February 17, 2006 Posted February 17, 2006 I knew that my chances of getting this coin were close to none, since I had to work when the sale started this evening. I was checking the store to see if any of my orders had shipped out yet, and what do you know there was 1 coin in the drop area. So I had to support the scouts . I guess I just got lucky Quote
HerrK & Friends Posted February 17, 2006 Posted February 17, 2006 There is another chance for some coins tomorrow during the day. This is to help some of the international collectors have a chance. This is a good thing! Thanks for this beautiful coin.... Quote
