+Snoogans Posted July 28, 2005 Posted July 28, 2005 (edited) So, I keep hearing this rumor about locationless caches making a comeback.... My question is: Would my Nude Cacher locationless cache fly when GC.com begins testing the notion of allowing LC's again? It's wildly popular on terracaching.com, but I would archive it over there to be able to offer it to a bigger audience..... It IS family friendly. Here's a look: I was very honored that one of the more original geocachers out there (Nudecacher) chose one of my caches (The FrogStar: West) to hunt. Now, you have a chance to claim an extra find for being different too. As the example above illustrates, ya gotta log this one in the buff. You must show the cache container, or the cache log book in the photo AT the actual cache location AND you must artfully mask any "naughty" parts, or at least black them out. This isn't a porn cache. THIS IS A GEOCACHING DARE! Are you up for it? Sure, you could wear a Speedo, or a thong and Photoshop, but you would be cheating yourself. Rules: This goes without saying, but still.... THE SUBJECT(S) OF THE PHOTO MUST BE AT LEAST 18 YEARS OF AGE! 1) You MUST be nude with the exception of shoes or a hat. No porn shots. (You can't use a previous photo from before the date that this locationless cache was listed.) The more artful the shot you can get, the better. 2) You must give the cache title and TC, or GC, number of your "Nude Cache." 3) The cache container or the cache log book must be in the shot. 4) You must SHOW at least most of your face. You can still wear sunglasses and a hat, but NO anonymus shots. We hafta KNOW it's you. (As of 2/10/05) I would prefer that you mention this Terracaching locationless find in that cache log as well, but I'm not going to require it. NOW, I double dog dare you to claim a find on this cache! Don't MAKE me start kluckin' at ya...... Snoogans NUDE CACHIN' Hall of FAME: Cybercat Edited July 28, 2005 by Snoogans Quote
+Ambrosia Posted July 28, 2005 Posted July 28, 2005 Well, now. I did that at one cache, and have the pic, but I never actually posted it to the cache page! Hmmmmmm..... Quote

I would like to hear from those who have done it. I have had nothing but positive feedback from those who have "DARED" to do it. Quote
+Ambrosia Posted July 28, 2005 Posted July 28, 2005 I could do it fine, but I don't think that I could dare to actually log it. Quote

+sept1c_tank Posted July 28, 2005 Posted July 28, 2005 I would do it. Not sure if it will fly here, though. Quote
+Snoogans Posted July 28, 2005 Author Posted July 28, 2005 I would do it. Not sure if it will fly here, though. I'm testing the waters over here for that one. Actually, most of my LC's would be archived on TC.com to bring them here. Ya know, you can log it on the other site until it comes here....If it ever does.... Quote

+1stimestar Posted July 28, 2005 Posted July 28, 2005 Oh my gosh! Does this mean I couldn't use my collection of nude hiking pictures? Darn. Oh wait, It just gives me the opportunity for more. Why do some people find nude hiking weird? LOL. *hunting for caches that require no bushwacking* hahaha Quote

I had to remove some wilderness caches I hid a couple years ago and then couldn't list. Quote
+1stimestar Posted July 28, 2005 Posted July 28, 2005 (edited) Since we only have a couple of months up here that it is warm enough, it makes it that much better. I do have a plan though for when it hits -50F this winter. Some friends and I are planning on doing a "coat drop" in front of this sign. Of course saying you are going to do and actually doing it are two different things. Let's see how many of those friends are "too busy" that night. At -50 it hurts to even breath, much less expose skin. I don't even know why I want to do this, but I do. Edited July 28, 2005 by 1stimestar Quote

Would only need a film canister and could log it as the locationless, and still have all the "naughties" covered at those temperatures! Quote

+Mudfrog Posted July 28, 2005 Posted July 28, 2005 Hey Snoogans, you get it approved here and i'll bet i can talk Chicken into logging it with me. Im just glad that i have a BIG unit, a Garmin 76s that will provide good adequate coverage!!! Quote

+Shawn&Holly Posted July 28, 2005 Posted July 28, 2005 I might be wrong, but I thought a locationless caches was find something and log where it is. Once you have done this one and posted it, no one can go there and find you still there. Not sure if this can be considered a locationless, more of a do something or a dare. Quote

I never ran nakid, though I did try to see if the trick of hot water off a balcony at 40 below never hitting the ground worked when you were trying to write your name in the snow after a few beers. It didn't. 98.6 isn't quite hot enough. Quote
+Team GPSaxophone Posted July 28, 2005 Posted July 28, 2005 Personally I don't see a problem with it. All "naughty bits" must be covered up to post the pictures, so it's no worse than any of nudecacher's logs. I've been nudecaching several times, just haven't logged the TC locationless for it yet. I think that it would not be a specific cache, it would be: find any cache, log it nude, and you get the requirements for a locationless. It wouldn't have a specific place, you can log it anywhere in the world. Quote
+Kit Fox Posted July 28, 2005 Posted July 28, 2005 Moon Amtrak This location would be great for a "Nude LC. " SAMPLE PHOTO Quote
+Sagefox Posted July 28, 2005 Posted July 28, 2005 Humm... We've been to that frog. We found the Frog cache with all its frogs inside and one lizard. Kept our clothes on though. We traded to remove the lizard and it has been riding on our SAGEFOX dashboard ever since. I'm not convinced your proposed LC would qualify though I guess a misclothed person is as good a subject as a misspelled sign. (I liked the misspelled sign LC.) Quote

It wouldn't have a specific place, you can log it anywhere in the world. Of the locationless we have done, find a mural, post the co-ordinates, take a photo. Now you can go and find the mural with the co-ordinates I provided. With this one, it is more, do something at any cache location, but if I take the co-ordinates, I might not find a nude cacher when I visit, just did not think that was what a locationless cache was. I understand the concept, just not sure if it is a locationless, suppose it is more so as with the mural is at a location Quote

+Dread Pirate Roberts of TX Posted July 29, 2005 Posted July 29, 2005 Looking forward to completing this cache. I am a little concerned that the cache owner or other local cachers might be offended by this locationless activity. Quote
+Joe Smith Posted July 30, 2005 Posted July 30, 2005 (edited) I "half logged" this one on the other site. i went out and took the pics, and it was exciting to say the least. The only problem was that I didn't want any naked pictures of myself floating around because I will be a teacher in less than a year. Imagine getting called into the principal's office for something like that So I removed the pics, and got the log deleted. Would I do it again? well, i could write the log right now. but i'll hold off. On GC.com, maybe. But ONLY if an exception is made where I don't have to show my face. Being the owner is under no obligation to do so, we'll see. i may find more caches in the nude, just without the pics. Joe Smith Edited July 30, 2005 by Joe Smith Quote
+1stimestar Posted July 30, 2005 Posted July 30, 2005 I'm going on an all girl back country trip to Denali next weekend and will see about logging one of these on a cache on the way down. Quote
+tabulator32 Posted July 30, 2005 Posted July 30, 2005 My biggest concern with these types f caches is that the cache owner check to ensure there is no poison ivy or thorns in the area. Quote
+Snoogans Posted July 31, 2005 Author Posted July 31, 2005 (edited) Looking forward to completing this cache. I am a little concerned that the cache owner or other local cachers might be offended by this locationless activity. There's plenty of folks that will get their panties in a bunch over pretty much anything. Nudecacher has found 3 of my caches so far. I think what he is doing is pretty cool. If you look at the address on Cybercat's pose you'll notice that it is a GC.com address. A few of the others are too. The fact that the cache owners haven't deleted them should pretty much answer your question. You will see more on Jerry Springer than you would on this cache. It's just plain fun when the realization that you are actively participating in something that is out of the ordinary hits you. Many folks chicken out, or have other reasons for not posting a find and of them, many still email me thanking me for the fun they had in the attempt. The whole concept of a nude cache is about fun and creativity. There is nothing sexual about it. Edited July 31, 2005 by Snoogans Quote
