+John & Hazel
Thank You All Many thanks to you all for the kind Get Well messages. Hazel is very touched. She has in fact fractured her right Tibia & Fibula midway between her Knee and ankle. In addition she managed to fracture two Tarsal in her ankle. The surgeon has managed to manipulate the bones back to where they should be without pinning or fixing a plate to them and she now has a full-length plaster cast over her leg (Graffiti free at the moment) Hazel is still in hospital and will probably stay there for the next few days. Although I gave the emergency services our grid reference in WGS84 and OS British Grid, it was no use as they do not carry maps or handheld GPSr's, they could only get as near to us as road mapping would allow. Air Ambulances do but this was not an option as there was too much tree cover but it was considered. Mobile Phones on the other hand were a Godsend not only in alerting the Emergency Services but also allowing me to keep in contact with Hazel whilst meeting the Ambulance and guiding the Paramedics to her on foot. Again many thanks for your kind words John (John & Hazel) edited for poor spelling Edited February 6, 2005 by John & Hazel Quote Link to comment
