Captain Chaoss
I'm 32 years old. Two weeks ago I went to the ER from work because I was dizzy. I'd been working soldering water pipes at home earlier, figured ok, the ventilation wasnt as good as I'd thought, I inhaled too much. One hospital stay on the cardiac floor later, I spend a little more time browsing than talking or doing. I have had time to reflect on things, and I just wanted to say thanks for some things. Thank you to TPTB for the work they've put in to make this game and website what it is. Thank you for all the forum goers who have given me distraction from dark, brooding thoughts. My favorite thing lately has been your pictures. Caching in the snow, clever containers, cache vehicles stuck, "you write the caption", all these have given me a window across this world, to share in the adventures I'm temporarily restricted from. If anyone has a photo they just like, and haven't found a catagory to place it under yet, please feel free to post it here, in this thread. I would like to see it. Thanks everybody. So what exactly happened to you? Did you inhale too much fumes that affected your cardiovascular or was it another type of cardio problem? You are way too young to have heart problems. I hope the Doctors fixed you up good. Edited February 7, 2004 by clearpath Quote Link to comment

Tahosa and Sons
Sorry to hear your not feeling so well, just take it one step at a time. They told me about 30 years ago to get used to that wheel chair, you'll never walk again. Well I was pleased to stuff it up their !@#$ to say the least. Here are some pictures for you to browse thru. My Gallery Aand there are lot more pictures of mountains in these HIKES View from one of my Caches: On the way to the above Cache, and I have a Cache on the hill in the background on the right side. Captain Chaoss
So what exactly happened to you? Did you inhale too much fumes that affected your cardiovascular or was it another type of cardio problem? You are way too young to have heart problems. I hope the Doctors fixed you up good. They quickly disproved my "fume theory" by drawing large amounts of blood. ER room doc failed to see the humor in my comment regarding his archaic medical practice of bloodletting. My heart-rate was 235 at rest, and blood pressure kept going high and low. A cocktail of drugs, battery of tests, a cardiologist duo, a lung specialist, and a gaggle of other doc's later; they told me I had a heart Arythmia - the aorta at the top of my heart was irregularly quivering. No heart damage or blockage though. More than 24 hours of IV meds later that quit, but they still didn't have a cause. After another night amidst patients 2-3 times my age, I had an athma attack, and they came up with a new idea. Asthma puts strain on your heart. That along with the meds I've been on for years (they can cause the arythmia apparently) and the pollutants I breathe at work, finally just pushed something over the limit. They also found I have sleep apnea; I quit breathing in my sleep, preventing REM sleep. Yep, leads to the heart trouble too. good news, heart is ok as long as these other problems get fixed. Bad news, the medicines mess with my memory and moods. I still get out of breath really easy, have to use oxygen at night, and have more tests still to come. Off work, and can't go caching, sometimes can't drive, get confused easy. 32 going on 90, lol. Thanks for all the awesome pics guys. Can't wait for all this crap to be done with, so I can get back out there and see this for myself. Quote Link to comment

Captain Chaoss
My goodness ! I honestly cannot believe the pics that everyone has taken ! My wife and I have had the greatest time browsing through all these. We ooh and ahh like the crowd at fourth of July fireworks. I can't begin to express my appreciation to everyone who has taken the time to search their collections and post here. These really do help lift my spirits. Thank you all so much. It has also occured to me as I look at these, that the views and quality, combined with the diversity, would make a fantastic coffe table book. With all the talented people who use these forums, I think an effort should be made to combine these pics (with permission of course) to make a geocachers picture collection. I can say that I would most definitely be interested in purchasing a copy. Again, thank you all for these images, your well wishes, and the encouraging e-mails. P.S. I found the ladybug in Uperdoopers pic, and then went back and looked again at Natureboy44's pic. See the GPS and hand ? LOL. I didn't till I went back.
