Broncoholics Posted December 17, 2003 Posted December 17, 2003 I have a New Year's resolution. I will do a lot more caching and less time in the forums. My wife thinks that is a great idea. LOL I really do want to set a goal of finds, but I'm not sure what that goal is yet. When nice weather hits, I will probably be very busy at work. I think maybe a cache or two a week might be a safe guess. Duane Upinyachit Quote

+Team Og Rof A Klaw Posted December 17, 2003 Posted December 17, 2003 To minimize the number of times I go looking for caches in nasty places. To place a new multi, if it ever stops being flooded around here... Quote
+Wulfster Posted December 17, 2003 Posted December 17, 2003 Not really related to Geocaching, but I lost 35 lbs last year (from Jan. 1 to Jul 1) and enjoyed the new me for the last six months of the year. This year I plan on losing another 20 lbs. A couple weekends ago, I was on a trail around a lake (doing a cache) that had been much longer than anticipated. At one point, I got a clear view of how much further I had to go, so I jogged for a quarter mile or so (pack and all). I couldn't have done that 35 lbs ago... Quote
+Webfoot Posted December 17, 2003 Posted December 17, 2003 I resolve to hide at least two new caches in the coming months, with at least one being a multi-cache or one of the unknown varieties. Quote
+JMBella Posted December 17, 2003 Posted December 17, 2003 Let's see... I've found about 225 caches in my first 6 months. So I guess I need to find 500 caches in 2004. Quote
+Renegade Knight Posted December 17, 2003 Posted December 17, 2003 I'm going back to my old forum ways. Quote

+Johnnie Stalkers Posted December 17, 2003 Posted December 17, 2003 Well it is 30 degrees outside right now......where is the fun in actually going out and finding a cache if I have to work at it? I like those Park and Logs. Even managed to do a virtual yesterday at 70 mph, didn't even have to put down my coffee. Resolutions: Find a sig item that I really like. Do some historically related Cincinnati virtuals. Do a 5 / 5, successfully. Do some caches in States I have never been to. Quote
dsandbro Posted December 17, 2003 Posted December 17, 2003 Lay on the couch and watch more TV, eat more, do less work around the house, and exercise less. I believe in making resolutions I know I can keep. Quote
+Sparky-Watts Posted December 17, 2003 Posted December 17, 2003 30 some years ago, I made a New Year's Resolution to never make another New Year's Resolution, and have stuck with it! Quote

What's bad about that? It was the same here last weekend and it was lovely! Oh. Fahrenheit. That makes a difference. I resolve to thoroughly test my next complicated multi, rather than treating early searchers as beta testers! Quote

+cachew nut Posted January 2, 2004 Posted January 2, 2004 (edited) I found this to be interesting, and oddly enough somewhat on topic, although perhaps not totally PC. Edit:typo Edited January 2, 2004 by cachew nut Quote
+Ferreteer Posted January 2, 2004 Posted January 2, 2004 I made 2 resolutions this year which is weird because I usually don't make any. 1 is to get off my hiney to go caching - hard one. I am new. 2 is to use my brain so I have decided to study ufos. That should wake up some brain cells. Bets anyone? I will keep track on how many days I last on #2. I'm Starting tomorrow. HaHa Quote
+New England n00b Posted January 2, 2004 Posted January 2, 2004 cachew nut, as an overweight person... I concur... My new years resolutions are: 1) Kittynap Sparky's cat and use a hair dryer on it. Or a laundry dryer. Whichever is handier. 2) To MAKE the time to go geocaching. Quote
ghOzt Posted January 2, 2004 Posted January 2, 2004 and find the Myotis 100 (Irish Wilderness) cache with my cachin buddies. I wanna see a bear too. That looks like the perfect caching experience! When initially hearing about geocaching, this cache was how I imagined them all to be. Good luck, I really hope you do it! Are there other, similar caches out there??? For now, I can only dream... +The Weasel Posted January 2, 2004 Posted January 2, 2004 My resolutions are to find 100 caches and to continue on my workout plan. I started Oct 15th of 2001, and have not had pizza, fast food, pop or sweets since. I'm finally back down to my old wrestling weight of 125!! Quote
+mozartman Posted January 2, 2004 Posted January 2, 2004 here's mine: 1. to make more time for caching, every weekend, if possible! 2. to find a traditional, tupperware or ammo can geocache in the wilderness (so far I've done only urban micros). 3. to do one truly unique cache that will put a big smile on other cacher's faces. Quote
cool_and_the_gang Posted January 2, 2004 Posted January 2, 2004 (edited) I will follow up on my plans to place what I think will be two cool multi-caches: 1) A model solar system (done before, I Know, but not in my area) 2) An architectural style tour I will also make more time for caching. Someone should save this thread and re-post it in December so we can all see how successful (or unsuccessful) we were at keeping them. Edited January 2, 2004 by cool_and_the_gang Quote
+Snoogans Posted January 2, 2004 Posted January 2, 2004 1) A model solar system (done before, I Know, but not in my area) Hey Cool, I thought about doing that too. Only, I figure that the way I would want to do it (using scale distances) would take over a year to set up and it would be ultra hard to maintain. My geocaching resolution is to double my hides and finds from 2003. That shouldn't be too hard. I'm sure I'll attend at least a dozen more events too. Geocachers really know how to throw a party. Bifter Posted January 2, 2004 Posted January 2, 2004 I don't make resolutions but i AM gonna find 100 caches before this new year is out (bearing in mind i'm a very busy person)...Bifter Quote
