S_Acc-Risk_048.jpg

Obligatory sunflower shot. Except mine are dying...

S_Acc-Risk_060.jpg

Feather on a lake. There's a story behind this. It was a pita shot to get...

S_Acc-Risk_082.jpg

End of summer...

S_Acc-Risk_086.jpg

Fountain, shot at 1 second. I had to use 4 neutral density filters to allow that kind of exposure. I'm really happy with this one...

First rain we've had in months. Apparently Aspens are waterproof...

All of the above were shot with A Sony 707 with just a polarizer. Except the spider I think, I believe I shot that with a Kodak 3mp. I don't remember for sure.

This is not a great photo, it is a sub megapixel Sony mavica and a closeup with me kneeling on very hot asphalt. (i.e. it was a hasty shoot).

This beast challanged me for the pathway back from a cache. I gave way, hoping he would get across before he fried.

This tressle is part of the Virginia Creeper Trail. A rails to trails program. There are several nice caches beyond the far end of this tressle.

Here's one that I took last weekend when we went caching. It was the view we had from the cache. It's also the "Picture of the Week" on my site. BTW if anyone wants to submit their pics for the picture of the week thing, contact me.

These pictures you have all posted are incredible! Right up there with Ansel Adams and the like. I am awed and humbled by some of the talent here. (and here I thought we were just a bunch of computer geeks with a passion for hiking...)

Thanks for the scenery moment.

My kids and I encountered this catepillar while out on a trek. It is the most brightly colored and biggest catepillar that I have ever seen. I love the way it's color make it look bigger than it is (it's about 2-1/2" long) with the big fake eyes and fake mouth. I would love to know what kind of catepillar it is.

Awesome sunbeam shot Criminal. And I can really relate to the kayak shot Dagg -- is that in the Broken Group?

I followed this Great Blue Heron for quite a while in my kayak to get this shot:

This is one of my favourite 'trail' shots -- taken at about 7:00 on a cold morning in January on the way back from a cache hunt:

Nothing to do with caching, but I'm rather proud of this one taken last weekend. I'm not even a yank, but felt all patriotic when this came down at the Winston Salem airshow

just because you're paranoid, it doesn't mean they're not out to get you

Congrats to Team Tecmage!!!

I have lots and lots of pics I would like to share, does anyone have a good site to host them for free? One that will not limit the amount of times they can be viewed per day? Maybe include a slideshow feature? Thanks!! icon_smile.gif

Webshots is free, but I believe they limit you to 25 pictures per album, and 10 albums, I pay the small 2 year fee (I think $19) and am very happy with it, you can't (or at least I haven't figured out how to) link directly to your Webshots picture and have it display on this website, But even the free service doesn't (or didn't, last I heard) limit how many times you can view the pictures.

For the fee, you get 60 pics per album and as many albums as you want.
