  1. No it won't put the maps on your gps. I have a windows desk top and use usaphotomaps at home. I want a mac version of similar software because I have an apple notebook that I want to take on the road with me. When I'm in the field, I don't have an internet connection for google earth.
  2. I've been using usaphotomaps ( http://jdmcox.com/ ) for a few years for geocaching and hiking and love it. It works well with a gps. It even reads lock files. Unfortunately, it's windows software. I'd like to bring my apple notebook on the road. Does anybody know of any free software similar to usaphotomaps for use on a mac?
  3. Been using Sawyer Duranon Permethrin with great success.
  4. USAPhotoMaps Another good one is http://local.live.com/
  5. Found this distroyed disk at N42 03.713 W071 17.171 on the top of a large rock formation in the local state forest. I can't find any bench marks listed for that location. Anybody know what it is? Also, is that a Star of David on it? Thanks for looking.
  6. Did Ozzie Osbone achieve geek hood when he bit the head off of the live bat?
  7. Bees already have enough to worry about. This is an amazing video Bees under attack.
  8. I'd go back the next day with several large cans of bee killer. I would thoroughly spray a ten foot radius. around the cache.. OMG! Geocachers are killing thousands of innocent bees so they can dig up their coded messages left in the forest! I hope homeland security is keeping an eye on this thread.
  9. Are you kidding me? You're going back?? You're a braver man then I am. If I had that experience, it would be mid February before i went back there.
  10. Some people don't log their finds on line on the same day that they find the cache. You could e mail the last finder and ask when they found the cache. It's possible that they found it in the past week and just got around to logging it on line. If that is the case, it really could be missing. If they found it right after you, you'll know it's still there waiting for you.
  11. You can't blame a cacher for making a false find log based on your inability to find the cache. What are you going to do when there is another find? Accuse them too? Maybe you should wait and see if there are more finds on this cache before making allegations. An apology to the cacher in question may be in order too.
  12. I'm assuming you've been to Tools --> Options --> Web Features and made sure the "Load Images" box is checked? If load images box is checked, click on the Exceptions button on the right and see if you have forums.Groundspeak.com blocked.
  13. I would ask why they continue to make the etrex line with a known defect. (the rubber gasket problem)
  14. How about giving a free trial of all the premium benefits, for a limited time ,to new people when they sign up . Maybe if i knew what i was missing, i'd pay up.
  15. I'm not a paying member and I never will be. I'm not interested in any of the premium benefits. If geocaching.com shut down their servers tomorrow, I'd still be out tramping around happily in the woods with my GPS and camera. I'm mostly interested in finding caches that require at least a one mile walk one way into the woods, anything else is just boring. There ain't many caches like that around here.(people complain about my hide because they had to walk a mile to reach it) So i choose not to pay for something i don't enjoy all that much. I realize that I'm in the minority here . Just my honest response to a simple question.
  16. I did it to my venture using a program called MeMap. MeMap

  18. My parents gave me mine well over 50 years ago.
  19. I'm getting the same error with a couple of caches. I either get that error or i get the cache does not exist.
  20. I ran into these guys early one morning last month. Before i knew what was tramping around in the woods with me, i was completely surrounded by the whole herd. I thought i was being attacked by G-d knows what untill they started to moo. This was in a wildlife management area with a farm about 1 /4 of a mile away. There is an old barb wire fence , but it needs mending.
