Of course, they had recalled the first one and we'd only bought it a month before but... But it was on one of the SD threads here that I first heard about their generous warranty coverage, so hopefully that person(s) will chime in with their real world experience. On edit: Here's their warranty - seems pretty open-ended: "If you're ever dissatisfied with an item, you may return or exchange your REI.com purchases at any REI store or through mail order." That is a painful picture to look at because it looks like the same model Palm I have. Now you can add your story and picture to the Palm Graveyard. A few years ago, I found a hard metal case for my Palm -- for cheap -- at BigLots! Since I have dropped the Palm a few times while juggling it, my walking stick, and the GPSr, I have been very thankful for that now-dented and scratched case. The good news is, you can get a new Palm on eBay for a relatively-small investment -- less than an insurance deductible for replacing more expensive units. Quote Link to comment

In the past two weeks I've set up paperless caching for a neighbor and for a relative. Both of them bought a Garmin 60CSx GPSr. One problem is that GSAK hasn't been updated to support the modified USB protocol of the CSx. Result is that GSAK can't transfer data to the CSx. The problem is acknowledged on the GSAK web site. Quote Link to comment

+Miragee
You can Export your filtered caches from GSAK to Mapsource format, then open that file in Mapsource and send the caches from Mapsource to the CSx. I did that from my laptop to fisnjack's new CSx and was suprised it worked because I thought I needed an updated USB driver. It takes less than a minute to do that, and you can preview the caches on the map to make sure the filter is correct. Quote Link to comment
