Does Dr. Loppitoff perform both loppitoffomys and addadicktomys?

Just be careful what doctor you go to....

That's a riot! :D I guess you shouldn't put Cialis in your Gatorade! :o

Whuts that round, stickery thingy down in the rocks?

Not sure but it must be chilly down there! :)

You might want to really careful when you walk around that area or you get pricked! :D

Honk if you know where this is.

Wow!

What lesson of yours will teach me how to do that?!?

The good news is that everything you need to know is covered in the posted lessons. Well, that and a tad of imagination. Of course it helps to be inspired by the Geobabes. As you can see they do the darndest things.

Here's a starter kit. First y' must get rid of the car.

It's interesting to see the contrast in the photography posted on this thread...

You guys are posed so nicely along the river while in a previous shot Russ is raising hell in the desert!

This one of Russ cracks me up everytime I look at it! Way to go Russ!! B)

Oh yeah...nice photos Dave! :P

I was looking at an old cache that Vagabond mentioned in a post on the main forum and I noticed some cool cache camera photos that were posted way back in 2002.

On the positive side there's probably a new model on the market. So glad that you didn't crunch yourself.

Let me see now, one crunched truck, one crunched PDA, and one crunched pair of sunglasses. That leaves your cell phone, your GPSr, and your laptop to go. Maybe a new thread is in order for crunched Geocaching equipment.

... but are y' havin' fun?

See now, if you had bought that from REI for $199 instead of on E-Bay for $29, then you'd be able to take it back and get a new one for "free!"

Edit: REI sells Palm Pilots?

I'm afraid not - but if their warranty is all it's cracked up to be, I'd probably pay an extra $100 to buy my next GPSr there. It would have been nice to simply trade my 60cs in for a 60csx! :)

I still find it hard to believe that they would do that. Have you talked to them directly and been told they would. If so, is it a one time thing?

No, and I find it hard to believe too. However, I did take one of our kids's bikes back and traded it in for a new one. Of course, they had recalled the first one and we'd only bought it a month before but... :P But it was on one of the SD threads here that I first heard about their generous warranty coverage, so hopefully that person(s) will chime in with their real world experience.

On edit: Here's their warranty - seems pretty open-ended:

Bummer. That is a painful picture to look at because it looks like the same model Palm I have. :P Now you can add your story and picture to the Palm Graveyard.

A few years ago, I found a hard metal case for my Palm -- for cheap -- at BigLots! Since I have dropped the Palm a few times while juggling it, my walking stick, and the GPSr, I have been very thankful for that now-dented and scratched case.

The good news is, you can get a new Palm on eBay for a relatively-small investment -- less than an insurance deductible for replacing more expensive units.

In the past two weeks I've set up paperless caching for a neighbor and for a relative. Both of them bought a Garmin 60CSx GPSr. One problem is that GSAK hasn't been updated to support the modified USB protocol of the CSx. Result is that GSAK can't transfer data to the CSx. The problem is acknowledged on the GSAK web site.

That's a big OUCH! :P

You can Export your filtered caches from GSAK to Mapsource format, then open that file in Mapsource and send the caches from Mapsource to the CSx.

I did that from my laptop to fisnjack's new CSx and was suprised it worked because I thought I needed an updated USB driver.

It takes less than a minute to do that, and you can preview the caches on the map to make sure the filter is correct. :P

I have had the same problem with my StreetPilot 2610. Not sure why GSAK has this problem when every other program on the planet work just fine with all my GPSs including the StreetPilot -- but there it is....

In any case, I use the same technique as the other responders. GSAK to MapSource to StreetPilot. It's almost as fast unless you get wrapped up in studying where all the caches are in MapSource... :anicute:

The author of GPSBabel, the program that translates the .gpx files, is working on the fix. His program is what Clyde uses "under the hood" in GSAK. I think it has been hard for him to get the necessary information from Garmin in order to make the progam changes.
