dboggny Posted January 7, 2004 Posted January 7, 2004 (edited) on January 23rd, 2004, a few of us, as we have done previously, are getting together for an all you can eat steak dinner. We will be gathering at Greenfields in Hackensack, NJ for this one (for those who are far and can't/ don't want to do that driving we will plan one in the Queens or Nassua area if you would like. AND DON'T FORGET, IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO HAVE A GET TOGETHER NEAR YOU, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE FEEL FREE TO HELP PLAN IT. I DONT KNOW THE WHOLE AREA. Even a buffet breakfast and cache hunt near where you live would be cool... it would help cachers from other areas see geocaching in your neck of the woods and maybe give them confidence to return since they have seen the area and terrain with a local guide). Here is a link for the adress info for greenfield restaurant. I say we meet at 7:00 pm. please indicate if you are going to attend, so we know who to hold a seat for/ wait for. if you arrive late, i dont think it matters. this isn't a formal event, people can come and go as they please and sit with whomever they please etc. The place closes at 10pm... this is a buffet/ all you can eat steak place, so get there early. cost is approx $30. see you soon. danny Edited January 7, 2004 by dboggny Quote
+Mopar Posted January 7, 2004 Posted January 7, 2004 I should hopefully be there, the last one was great. If anyone has a pregnant wife, make sure to bring her. She can be seated across from me to to help induce labor. Worked for Danny's wife, Becky. Quote
+IV_Warrior Posted January 7, 2004 Posted January 7, 2004 (edited) Save me a seat Edit: January 23, 2004 is a Friday Edited January 7, 2004 by IV_Warrior Quote
+bldebabe Posted January 8, 2004 Posted January 8, 2004 Sounds great... I'll be there! Bldebabe Quote
dboggny Posted January 8, 2004 Author Posted January 8, 2004 Is that a Thursday? Hope not. its a friday so it wont interfere with your bowling Quote
+HartClimbs Posted January 8, 2004 Posted January 8, 2004 I'll be there as long as DBoggNY guards the dessert table like last time! "Hey - if you TOUCH the piece of cake - you TAKE the piece of cake" Funniest thing I've seen in a while. This random guy is right in front of us and he's TOUCHING all the desserts (but taking none). Luckily, DBoggNY was there to "edumacate" the fellow in basic courtesy and food sanitation! The food's good - great skirt steak, and there's a huge sushi bar also - but watch around the dessert table. I'll be there - steak knife a'flying! Quote

I am usually 99% wrong so you could ignore me but last time I was over there I could have sworn it changed names and don't know if it is still the same.. This was a couple of months ago tho so I am most likely wrong. Quote

+Planet Posted January 14, 2004 Posted January 14, 2004 Gee, I wish I could go. I maybe heading up to NH for yet another memorial. It seems the older you get the more people pass away. My uncle passed away in Hungary and the memorial will be in NH. So count me out, sorry. Quote
+Team Shibby Posted January 16, 2004 Posted January 16, 2004 (edited) Team Shibby will make every possible attempt to make this one! How could we pass up a chance to meet so many great people and eat a nice steak dinner!! Kar of TS!! Edited January 16, 2004 by Team Shibby Quote
+Harrald Posted January 16, 2004 Posted January 16, 2004 Well it looks as if My wife, The Bardmin and I will be there. In fact there is rumor of a pre-dinner cocktail nearby. Since my bride will be driving us home I guess I will have to attend the pre dinner cocktail hour (or 2) also. Maybe we can start getting a count on how many people are planning on being there. I could stop by the resturant on the way home from work and make sure they are ready for this crowd. 3 of us. Quote
+briansnat Posted January 16, 2004 Posted January 16, 2004 (edited) I'm 90 percent certain I'll be there so count me as 1. Skigirl is a maybe. That makes 4, maybe 5. Edited January 16, 2004 by briansnat Quote
+HartClimbs Posted January 16, 2004 Posted January 16, 2004 I'm flying solo that evening - so just put me down for one, but I'm hoping to make it a little early for the cocktail hour! Quote
+Mopar Posted January 16, 2004 Posted January 16, 2004 Pretty sure Geo Ho and I will attend, not yet sure if we'll have the boy or not. So, add another 2-3. I dunno, I wasn't even invited to the pre cocktail cocktail hour Quote

+IV_Warrior Posted January 17, 2004 Posted January 17, 2004 Don't feel bad Mopar, I'm driving in from about 4 hours away and I wasn't invited for cocktails, either. Currently it looks like I'll be driving in by myself. Quote
+JMBella Posted January 17, 2004 Posted January 17, 2004 Hmmm... I.. I have this... Strange erg to buy dinner for everyone. It doesn't make sense. I haven't even met some of you but still I feel compelled to... <wife comes in room> THWACK!!!! Ouch what the... holy crap did I just write that?! Quote
dboggny Posted January 17, 2004 Author Posted January 17, 2004 two of us... harry doesn't eat steak as he has no teeth and since mom doesn't eat meat, he is a veggie by definition. we wont make the pre dinner hour, infact, depending on traffic we might be a bit late as becky wont be out of work until around 630pm or later. db Quote
+Harrald Posted January 17, 2004 Posted January 17, 2004 QUICK IVWarrior!!!!!!!!!!! Get him to buy us drinks before dinner too!!!!! (the way Hart and I drink, we'll put him in the poor house for sure) Quote
+HartClimbs Posted January 21, 2004 Posted January 21, 2004 (edited) I'll be there for dinner but will (unfortunately) probably not make any cocktail hour earlier. I've been fasting for the last 2 months in preparation for this feast (got to get my money's worth out of the buffet, right?) Just steer clear of the salad. p.s. No, that's not me (it's just a picture I lifted off some website). Edited January 21, 2004 by HartClimbs Quote
+fosterbass Posted January 21, 2004 Posted January 21, 2004 Just steer clear of the salad. Hey! I said I didn't like steak, but I never said I'll eat something just because it looks like lettuce! Quote
+HartClimbs Posted January 22, 2004 Posted January 22, 2004 Putting it back on top. They have rice too..... Quote
+briansnat Posted January 22, 2004 Posted January 22, 2004 So what time is the cocktail hour crowd gonna be there? Quote
+fosterbass Posted January 22, 2004 Posted January 22, 2004 Mapsource MetroGuide pegs this place at N40 54.613 W74 01.990 Can anyone confirm or deny? Quote
