I have found conflicting information on his whereabouts, but California seems much more likely then Nevada. Try small claims court.

That would sound alot more believable if he hadn't resurfaced in 2010, trying to scam more people out of money.

Mr.Yuck Posted October 23, 2011 Posted October 23, 2011 Well, I got the geocacher magazine website taken down for a couple weeks, but it was apparently just a coincedence, and had nothing to do with the fact that the magazine doesn't actually exist or anything. After it was put back up, I got this reply from his web hosting company: The site was initially frozen not for content violations but for inactivity. We need specific explanations why, based solely on the content of the site, it should be suspended. Please reply. And then, when I didn't reply within 24 FRIGGIN' HOURS they closed the case. At 3:00 PM on a Saturday afternoon, no less. Nice to see he has such a hard working web host that they have people working and closing cases on a Saturday. (I'm sure they don't, and it was an auto response, but still). So I'm throwing in the towel here. His website can continue to advertise the Fall 2010 issue which was never published, and he can still take people's money through Pay Pal.

I just ordered your ipad app and have made it through the first 3 issues. I was pleasantly surprised to see how professionally done this was and of course entertaining. I think the best way to put this Geocacher Magazine business would be to support FTF Geocacher and at some point there will be no question as to what THE geocaching magazine is. Keep up the good work.

+JKMonkey Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 Wow, I'm glad I was told to only subscribe to FTF Geocacher, its considered the best geocaching magazine, at least by most of the cachers I've talked to.
GeocacherMagazine Posted May 15, 2013 Posted May 15, 2013 Greetings all- Just to clear things up. GeoMag has been stalled for quite some time, since right after my hospitalization, and all subscribers who have requested refunds have received them. Several individuals claimed to have subscribed, but never did, (no monies changed hands), and those requests were obviously denied. Although the web presence is still active and we hope to go back into print at some point in the future, there is no active subscription / donation / or fund-raising effort in place. Indeed all the PayPay & Payment links have been disabled. One recurring matter is subscribers who requested PayPal charge their cards annually, which results in a charge being automatically posted to their credit card, 12 months after their initial inquiry. Any such fees are set to automatically refund the user and per our vendor agreement with PayPal, there are NO outstanding issues ... because everyone's been refunded. To the majority of you who have been so supportive with this effort and my medical struggles, I humbly thank you for all the emails and cards. The geocaching community is indeed, for the most part, a wonderful family and I love being a part of it and sharing it with new friends. To the few remaining voices of dissent, I hope this clears it all up for you and you can move on. Best Regards to all- Michael Jacobus / GeoMag
4wheelin_fool Posted May 15, 2013 Posted May 15, 2013 Wow, it took 5 years before you stopped accepting money, but managed to pay to keep the site up. Amazing. Somehow I doubt everyone has gotten their money returned.
+The_Incredibles_ Posted May 15, 2013 Posted May 15, 2013 Sorry for your medical issues, but you should have taken your site down years ago. The fact that you didn't and kept accepting payments doesn't look good and I still think people should be reporting you.
4wheelin_fool Posted May 15, 2013 Posted May 15, 2013 Several individuals claimed to have subscribed but never did I find this hard to believe. Someone apparently contacted the authorities, so only then he disabled the pay pal link and refunded recent payments, with the belief that the older payments would be forgotten.
+FTFGuy Posted May 15, 2013 Posted May 15, 2013 I believe Mr. Jacobus overlooked the PayPal link at http://geocachermagazine.webs.com (linking from geocachermagazine.com) which is still active.
+FTFGuy Posted May 15, 2013 Posted May 15, 2013 Just to clarify, the link is in the "Featured Products" section at the bottom of the left sidebar.
GeocacherMagazine Posted May 15, 2013 Posted May 15, 2013 While I don't plan to reply to every or any ongoing accusations; 1. The few complaints to "authorities" were Better Business queries (3 total) which were responded to immediately and refund documentation was provided. 2. Payments we "kept accepting" were set as automatic and were refunded immediately. 3. Please refresh your page ckpetrus - there is no active PayPal link anywhere. So, like I said, I'm sure the static will continue, but we've done right by everyone concerned and are looking forward! Cheers!
4wheelin_fool Posted May 15, 2013 Posted May 15, 2013 3. Please refresh your page ckpetrus - there is no active PayPal link anywhere. After 5 years, it was disabled a few minutes ago.
