  1. Thank you for all the info everyone. I will try to figure this out.
  2. Good Evening, First off I want to say thank you to anyone who is willing to give me some helpful info. Secondly, I have looked over the pinned topics for geocoins and unless I completely missed it....I didn't find what I was needing help with so thank you again if I missed something there. Back in 2012ish I bought a few geocoins and since then I think a few have been given to me as gifts. I am pretty sure I activated them all and some may have been discovered here and there. I have been trying to declutter my life a little and have decided to try and sell the few coins I have. I have never sold anything online and if I don't have to figure out a selling site that would be great. My main questions are: 1. How do I figure out what they are worth? For instance, the first coin that I have I cannot find a price anywhere online. (Certified Geocaching Bike Coin) I can't even find the receipt for when I bought it. I will be doing a little more searching but for now I have no idea what it is worth. 2. If I have already activated it, how would it get transferred to the new owner? Would I use the "adoption" feature or is there another way that I did not see? For now those are my two main questions as I get started on this project. Again, any and all help would be greatly appreciated.
  3. +1 My first choice would be for every log to be unique and detailed. Second choice would be hybrid logs, with a copy-paste overview of the trip and some content that is unique to that specific log. Third choice would be identical copy-paste logs describing the trip as a whole. And a distant fourth choice would be terse, nearly content-free logs like "TFTC" or "Found" or "DNF" or "". I agree completely with these choices and their rankings. I'm writing to suggest one other option, in between one and two, that I use when logging a busy trip. I take care to note who are the owners of the caches I found. For the first cache owned by niraD, you would receive my copy-paste summary of the entire day/roadtrip, plus a sentence or two specific to the hide. For each subsequent niraD cache, I skip the copy-paste summary and only write the sentence(s) unique to that cache. I figure you would appreciate reading the long story once, but that it would become annoying if pasted over and over again into ten of your caches that I logged on the same day. And to the OP, don't you dare tell me how to write my DNF logs. They tend to be my most interesting and entertaining logs, often poking fun at myself, speculating about why I failed, describing the muggle problem, etc. See the link in my signature line, below, to access all the caches where I have unresolved DNF's. Even the bookmark summaries tell stories that are way more entertaining than "didn't find it." I love the Leprechauns idea!! "For the first cache owned by niraD, you would receive my copy-paste summary of the entire day/roadtrip, plus a sentence or two specific to the hide. I have copy and pasted many logs when there were just simply to many caches in one day to remember everything. I am heading out to the Mojave Desert here in California in less than a week. We are hoping to pull off over 1000 caches in 3 days. This idea will work great! THANK YOU THANK YOU!
  4. I have an Oregon 450t and I have never seen anywhere that you can set it to operate or gps mode. If there is such a place I would love to know about it. If I plug the gps into the computer and it turns on, all I do is turn it back off. Unplug it from the computer and plug it in again and it corrects itself and the folders pop up on the computer for me to load my caches.
  5. I reposted your link in one of my caching groups on Facebook.... It might get you a little more exposure. Happy caching! Buka2
  6. We don't always go that far....But This Is A Special Cache. I will keep you in mind
  7. A few of us are going to hike to the oldest cache in California on May 25th if you are interested. We are leaving about 6 am. It is about 10 mile hike round trip and we plan on grabbing all the caches on the loop we are going to hike. It will be an all day adventure! Cachers going so far are: Myself (Buka2) Smoochersmom rkliman & his girlfriend and one other cacher...I can't remember his name. Let me know if you are interested.
  8. There's a cache page so I sure hope so. And I have it on my watch list and lots of people are logging their will attend.....it's on August 17th if I remember correctly. I'm not on my computer but I can look up the code in a little while.
  9. Hi all.... Not really sure where I should post this so if it needs to be moved... please do. I really would like to go to the Block Party this year. I am sure somewhere there has got to be info on where to look at staying, things to do (geocaching related or not) in the area, etc. but I can't find it. Can anyone help that has any info on where I should start with my planning.
  10. me too! at least get back out there after not having cached awhile. having a reliable vehicle would help that goal. right now i don't trust my car not to dump me in the desert somewhere and the caches i want to find are out a bit. lara I'm not exactly sure where you are Lara because the Mojave Desert is so big but I go to visit my dad in Bullhead City every so often so if you are anywhere near there I can look you up when I go! I have no one to cache with out there! Roxane
  11. Hi all! I just wanted to let anyone interested know that a fairly large group of cachers is heading out to cache the Route 66 Geoart on Saturday, December 8th. We are also having an event right near the beginning of the art in the morning before we get started to hopefully meet any local cachers, others that would like to do the Geoart, and traveling cachers that might be passing through. It would be really great to meet new caching friends and if anyone has been wanting to check this beauty off their list but doesn't want to cache it alone.....Now is your chance! Donuts in the Desert Event Route 66 Geoart
  12. I have the regular sticker kind. I get mine from Here because they are customizable in different sizes and colors. I like mine huge because I hate it when I see one driving down the road and I can't see the darn code!
  13. Boy do I feel stupid telling you that I got two FTF's last friday....haha
  14. I agree. The Needs Archive s really a flag more to the reviewer than the CO since the CO should have gotten many other messages to fix by then. Our reviewer has even asked we post a Needs Archive to point these types out as they would not ther wise get this notice. Not a fan of automatic account closure. +1
  15. I found a few caches in 2007....Got divorced, he got the GPS and I totally forgot about it and how fun it was until I found out about the app for the smartphones....I was so happy...started caching right away bought a "real" GPS a few months later and I have been a caching nut since then.
  16. I give these...Most think they are pretty cool
