Hey look, I planted my first LPC!

Recommended Posts

Umm... Isn't there supposed to be a lamp post? Or some part of a lamp???

Well, the post is there. And the post is meant for a lamp, so it's a lamp post. And there's a cache there, which makes it a lamp post cache. Sounds right to me.

Well yeah. But sometimes they end up "under the weather", so to speak.

P.S. There was never a cache there. I just noticed that in a movie theater parking lot a couple years ago, and snapped a pic. It's since been repaired.

I see it, but I can't reach it to sign the log. Can I claim a find?

Remind me...what was the difficulty? And where did you hide the lamp post and light - I bet that's the real cache!

I hunted for this cache a couple of times but I don't think I should be required to post a DNF log since there was no lamp post so I didn't know where to search.

Hmmm..I thought LPC meant Lamp Post Cover...

[newbie]

In my area, at least, LPC means Lamp Post Cache. The cover is called a skirt. We usually just call these caches skirt lifters.

I own a skirt lifter cache, although it's not a LPC.

It appears that the post was installed with the intent of a lamp being added to it. What happens to the cache when that happens?

Obviously, then it will become an LPCWLIOTP (lamp post cache with lamp installed on the post).

There's an acronym for the acronym thread!

The CO notes in the listing that the cache requires a wrench (special equipment) to remove the lamp.

But would that make it a D5 or a T5?

Not a skirt and the cache isn't under there.

I'd like to find that one!!

Give me the GC number and I'll book a flight where ever it is.

And you don't even have to give me a special icon!

I planted my first LPC today!

Nice hide, but without the thrill of having to avoid live wires, dodge cars, and basically look like a freak lifting up pieces of metal in a public place, I'll have to pass on this one. Talk about lame - it's not even placed on private property - what were you thinking?!
