Groundsqueak announces Self-logging Cache Support

Recommended Posts

In an effort to expand the Geocaching Experience and make it enjoyable to a larger population Groundsqueak have teamed up with AT&T, Verizon, Sprint Nextel and T-Mobile for the Auto Logger device. When placed in a Geocache and which is then found and opened it will record the reaction and facial expression of the finding Geocacher. Data will then be transmitted wirelessly, converted from speech to text and recorded in the Geocache Log on Geocaching.com. To keep it family friendly certain words and phrases will be translated to friendlier ones. So when you find an Autologging Geocache on your next outing, open up and smile!

Self-logging Cache Support But what about self-solving puzzle caches?

It is my understanding that this is in beta. Still some bugs to be ironed out. At present they work as follows:

when you open the final cache container the coordinates are automatically displayed on the inside of the lid.

For some reason beta testers have not been enthusiastic about this version...

They should develop a feature that allows a cacher to log a find just by selecting the desired caches straight from the website. Just think, do whole 100 cache power trails in just minutes and no more pesky going outside or driving around first. 5/5s would be a piece of cake. Call it 'Catalog Caching'!

We done a few 5/5's today while Hampster caching. I really is a 5/5 when they all bite and you are reaching around in the pile to get a good one. Seems most people have NOT been trading up or even today!
