+Birdman-of-liskatraz
Time for another gloat - 300 logs on my peach jar. Wayhay! Not according to the official leader board, which I take it is the last word in the competition? Did I not mention a log from Birdie on your cache resets it's find count to Zero? Seriously.. I've been away for a week - I'll get the leaderboard updated tomorrow Quote Link to comment
+*mouse*
Did I not mention a log from Birdie on your cache resets it's find count to Zero? Nooooooooooooo! Quote Link to comment
+Birdman-of-liskatraz
Well I'm back from my week away "up country" and i've updated the "Official" Leaderboard.. Numbers on some caches have increased slightly (eh? peach)... I think I've added all the BPJCs but please giv eme a shout if I've missed anyone or got your total wrong - anyway, for anyone interested have a peek here Thanks to all the entrants for joining in the fun. +welsh_gal
I'm so disappointed that I couldn't get a plastic jar in time for this going to look forward to following this one though. Just seemed that everything out here is made of glass at this moment in time! ggrrrrrr Quote Link to comment
+Birdman-of-liskatraz
Sorry Welsh Gal! There's always next year and watch out for the new thread in which everyone can join in - Plastic peach jar or not. I've just updated the Leaderboard here I see *mouse* is hanging on to her 1st and 2nd positions rather well and suspect the Least find cache will be much harder to predict the winner in advance. +Delta68
We had planned to set a BPJC but ran out of time. However, our latest caches will be using peach jars. Many thanks for introducing this type of container to us. They are great! Mark Quote Link to comment
+welsh_gal
A bit funny how a cache containing tenners goes missing just as a group of steak and kidney lock openers moves in just by........ sorry couldn't resist that after watching the last episode of top gear Quote Link to comment
+Birdman-of-liskatraz
and the latest updated Leaderboard is here.. sorry there, not here... Nice to see muttoners least found entry has been found - now he must praying its not found again till the end of the year! The local cachers who think they're getting close to finding my entry are threatening not to find it yet.. but to do a mass find on December 31st.... *peach* is still holding on to her top two spots - obviously close to the Mega Event location was a good spot. and for those who haven't entered but think they know who's going to win, then why not have a look at the "Predict the winner" thread and win yourself a Geocoin. +The Blorenges
It's time to congratulate robnrsheils for being the second finders of our "BPJC - Seek and Hide". (I'm muttering this through only slightly clenched teeth because their find means that our cache is no longer in the lead group of three for the 'least found' prize. ) I guess we'd better go and try and solve the other 'least found' caches now... MrsB We don't go on the forums much and I have been having trouble with reading this particular one - inexperience I guess. Thank you for mentioning us in this way! I have looked at the others but am struggling. Good luck in your quest. Quote Link to comment
+Mustards
It looks like our cache at eden has been muggled, we hope to replace it next week. Quote Link to comment
+Maple Leaf
Tweet, tweet Birdie... Any chance of an updated leader board ? I am wondering if there are going to be queues at some of the caches on New Years Eve Quote Link to comment
+Birdman-of-liskatraz
Yep - shiny new PC sorted out and software loaded... so here in all it's 64 Bit glory is the new leaderboard.. Here <---- There Miss Peach holding on to her top two places, The Blorenges creeping past the captain to take 3rd spot. The least found category is more entertaining with four caches currently in the running causing me to frantically check for a "In case of a tie rule"...! So it would make my life a lot easier if you could could all just pop out and find all those least found caches a few times... and if someone (Just the one though) could pop out and find mine it would be much appreciated! The prize winners coins have been ordered and should arrive this week. Quote Link to comment
+robnrsheils
Thanks for update, Birdman. I'm trying to do the others - but they are too ****** hard for me! I'll have another look at yours. Cheers. Edited November 28, 2009 by robnrsheils Quote Link to comment
+reddeeps
Same here, I have tried the others and have nearly sorted to be named.. just one bit of the puzzle left Quote Link to comment
+muttoneer
I wouldn't recommend a drive up the M6 to find mine - it's not a very good cache at all really. The hiding place is very ordinary and you'd just end up being disappointed. No, it's best left well alone... until January of course Quote Link to comment

So it would make my life a lot easier if you could could all just pop out and find all those least found caches a few times... The answer is obvious. There is only one fair way of doing it. In case of a tie the prize is divided evenly between the winners. So, for example in the case of a four way split and a Geocoin prize, each get a quarter of a geocoin. Quote Link to comment

Or you hide the prize in a cache at coordinates equidistant from all tied teams and then make it findable only by using a combination of the techniques used in those tied caches. +Delta68
I feel really bad that no-body's found one of mine yet....if only there were some way to give a bigger hint Hmm... looks like cheating to me! I spent far too long on this one in preparation for a visit to the area a few weeks ago How? Well I knocked up a little computer program to write a gpx file containing all the points within 1000m with the correct checksum (about 4000 or so) I then opened the GPX in google earth and looked for places that matched a 4.5 terrain Tried a few in geochecker until it complained so I gave up then We actually drove past along the M4 West -> M5 North earlier today... Mark 4* terrain - Will have one or more of the following: very heavy overgrowth, very steep elevation (requiring use of hands), or more than a 10 mile hike. May require an overnight stay.) Curious to know how you did your search with google earth... It should have had 5*'s, as specialist equipment is required - but I didn't feel it was really a 5* cache.... Quote Link to comment
+Birdman-of-liskatraz
Well peeps the time is up - the competition is over - However I'd like to wait for 48 hours for any last minute logging, before I publish the winners of the three classes - though I suspect they know who they are! Can I have it from June to September please, with maybe a weekend out of season...? Very happy to have won, just waiting for the deluge of requests for hints to start! Thanks for organising this challenge Birdie! Quote Link to comment
+sonatellas
You have just reminded me that ours is still out there it has not been published let alone found lol. Congratulations to the winners and a happy 2010 to all To be honest myself and Hugh Jampton had a good old go at it as well, but we couldn't quite get the coordinates to work in the checker. We cleared the rest of Clevedon anyway! Good fun! Mark Quote Link to comment
