+dlgps
We interested in attending the GPS Adventures Maze Exhibit when it comes to Iowa in May. I have been looking to see if there is an "event cache" set up for this one like there was for http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...83-f332304df3ef I would like to log a "will attend" so I can keep an eye on it and not miss it. +Parabola
I'm wondering where you saw it's coming to Iowa in May? I would love to see it come here but need to see where they said it was headed this way. Thanks for the info and I sure hope it does come to Iowa. Quote Link to comment
+Parabola
I found the info on the website. Thanks again for the head' up about it!!!! Quote Link to comment
+DeRock & The Psychic Cacher
Wow, I haven't been back to the GPS Adventures website in a while. That's quite a line-up of locations for 2009. I would imagine they will have an event - I believe they have had one for each exibit location to date. The only way to know would be to email directly to Groundspeak and ask: contact @geocaching.com Or ask Signal the next time you see him. +wimseyguy
Sheesh you would think that a psychic cacher would know when the event is too?!? I work in a museum, and also enjoy visiting them a lot. This is a first rate exhibit and is very well done. Even if you don't make it to the opening day event, you really want to see the exhibit when it comes near you. It's great to see 2009 already fully booked! Quote Link to comment
+trainlove
When it came to Connecticut last June there was an event. I don't think it was published till about a month before the Maze Exhibit. Jeremy and Shauna came, and that's why there was an event planned. Unless it's going to become a mega event don't expect it to be published more than a couple months beforehand (check the guidelinies). Quote Link to comment
Dinoprophet
Does anyone know why the exhibit at the Cranbrook Institute of Science in Birmingham, MI, was canceled? It was listed very shortly after the Adventure Maze was created but was later removed. I was looking forward to it. Quote Link to comment
+trainlove
Does anyone know why the exhibit at the Cranbrook Institute of Science in Birmingham, MI, was canceled? Please supply GC number or name of cacher who 'owned/created' the event. Quote Link to comment
Dinoprophet
There was no event. I just meant the exhibit was supposed to come here. It was the second or third location the site listed when it started, then later it was removed. Quote Link to comment
+NYPaddleCacher
I got email on a local mailing list about the maze coming to Rochester as well. I may try to organize a group trip for some of the local cachers here. It might be fun to schedule an "Event" cache for one of the weeks when some of the geocachers in my area, up in Syracuse, and from the Buffalo area could all meet. Quote Link to comment

Just a guess, but the contractual negotiations between the maze exhibit owners and the museum may have broken down. From what I am told they can be quite complex at times. Or the timing didn't work out as planned for one of the parties involved. Quote Link to comment
+benh57
They sure do choose some odd small cities to do this in... I'd think for the most publicity, they'd want to focus on larger cities... Los Angeles, San Diego, Denver, Dallas, Miami etc.. Redding? Rochester? Kichener? I suppose the rates for space are cheaper there. But Redding is a long drive from civilization. At least Kichener isn't far out of Toronto. -Ben Quote Link to comment

I'm pretty sure that the museum that wants the exhibit is the one that negotiates for it...the maze doesn't go looking for a place to go. Quote Link to comment
+J-Way
What are the odds of setting up the GPS Adventure Maze at GeoWoodstock VII? Quote Link to comment
+MissJenn
J-Way, The GPS Adventures Maze goes to museums for usually a 3-month stay. Quote Link to comment

I'm pretty sure that the museum that wants the exhibit is the one that negotiates for it...the maze doesn't go looking for a place to go. Well that's not true. I was in contact with someone from Minotaur Mazes- I suggest a few locations here in Florida, and got a respond back with comment that I just suggested a couple of places they were sending a info package too about getting the maze there. I'm sure if you really want it bad enough at a location- email/write/call the location and if they have enough people buggin them about it. They will look into maybe getting . Quote Link to comment

+steve p
I'm puzzled about the part of the OP that says "many 2009 locations now listed." Their website shows only four locations for 2009. Edited January 7, 2009 by steve p Quote Link to comment
+MissJenn
There are 4 locations for this year because each stint is about a quarter of a year long. Quote Link to comment

+ChileHead
Looking forward to the new icon just miles from my house! And ... there's a micro in the parking lot that I'm pretty excited about too! Quote Link to comment
+fox-and-the-hound
Totally worth a drive to see this project. I made a quick detour while out of state to see it in Minnetrista and was blown away. They put in some serious time and effort to put together a very high end display and fun time. Learned a lot, had a lot of fun and scored a funky icon. What not to love? Quote Link to comment
