Here's a list of KillerB (a local caching legend) caches in western NY, and one for Letchworth SP. Must-do's if you're ever in the area.

KillerB's Caches

Letchworth Caches

25 Other Recomended WNY caches

The above bookmarks lists are neither public nor shared, and cannot be viewed by anyone other than the creator!!! You'll need to choose "edit" for each bookmark list, and check the boxes to make them shared, public, or both. Email me through my profile if you need any help

Sorry about that. Thanx Brian.

I looked at my email WatchList today, and remembered again about this thread that I posted.

I said to myself how sad it was that no one had replied to this thread yet. I guess no one liked the idea, since no replies had come in via email. So, I figured what the heck: *I* like the idea. I would post another bookmark list. So, off I go to this Forum, and look.

Voila! Replies! I guess the Forum subscription code isn't working so well, eh?

Thanks for the replies so far! And for those forthcoming!

You've got a friend in Pennsylvania!

These are some of the recurring events around Pennsylvania. Some repeat monthly. Some are annual events.

Here are some of mine in The North East

Philadelphia area followed by Caching in my Backyard, Covered Bridges & NJ lighhouse caches

I started putting together a list of caches near abandonded railroad stuff.

Slowly I started added other historic things, like canals and then old building foundations.

I would love to see some links and book marks to other old train & railroad artifacts, and old foundations and ruins.

If you have anything to contribute please do. Finding old ruins and foundations is one of the things that make Geocaching so interesting for me.

Thanks

Pinning thread. Please confine your posts to just links and descriptions of bookmark lists that include caches in the Northeast Region. If someone wants to discuss one specific list, or a cache on a bookmark list, please start a separate thread. As a pinned thread, this will be closely moderated so that only the useful reference posts will appear here. If it becomes too much work, I'll unpin it.

I hope this is the correct place to post. My daughters school won the Creative ticket award given by the Kennedy Center for the Arts and part of this honor was an invitation to perform on the Millenium Stage in Washingotn DC. I was wondering if anyone had a boookmark of caches near touristy places in DC. I know alot of them are virtuals but I would love to be able to grab at least a couple while up there. Thanks so much!

If you go to The Mall, you have to visit the west side. If you can, go at night. It is absolutely beautiful. Here is a bookmark list I found for the west end of The Mall.

The museums are down on the east end though, so it is a tough choice.

Here is a great list by JPatton of caches near Metro stations.

Here is another list. I need to put one together for my favorites in DC!

I have some night shots on my site, but I need to add some. I will try to add some additional shots tonight, but here is a link to my page. I have some great shots of the Vietnam Wall that I have not posted yet.

MissJenn suggested that I should share this over here:

Hello, friends! I have recently created, and am expanding, a shared bookmark list called "Black History NoVA & DC." My goal is to inform anyone who may be interested in geocaches deliberately highlighting local Black history or at least hidden close to important Black history sites. I'm posting this note to the forums in hope that other geocachers in this area, or geocachers who have visited this area, might have even more geocaches to recommend for inclusion in the list!

While I am most interested, for the purposes of this list, in geocaches that deliberately highlight local Black history, many caches on the list are simply near important or interesting Black history sites. The geocache closest to Jones Point in Alexandria does not mention Benjamin Banneker in the cache description, for example, but Jones Point is nevertheless significant to local Black history and therefore worthy of inclusion.

Most of the geocaches on the list are located within 50 miles of DC (a radius that allowed me to include the John Brown Museum in Harper's Ferry), but I have made an exception for a geocache at the first Virginia state park created for people of color. I might be willing to make other exceptions as well.

Please let me know if you would like to share any suggestions! Thanks. :D

I maintain a series of "A List" caches in my local area. To make the A list a caches needs to have at least 5 favorite points and be favorited by at least 25% of the eligible finders (premium members). You can't but notice the inverse relationship between quality and popularity.

A List: SE Mass Marshfield to Wareham

A List Central SE Mass: Paddles & Puzzles
