  1. That's disturbing. Watching that made my stomach turn. I'm not sure what game they're playing, but it's certainly not Geocaching. I wonder if the driver logged those "finds" as well.
  2. Yes, the LIGO Summer Picnic Event would be a great way for you to meet local Geocachers. BTW, LIGO stands for the Long Island Geocaching Organization You can also check out the Long Island Geocaching facebook page.
  3. Signature stickers can be pretty handy, but to me they should only be used as just that... a signature. They shouldn't be used in place of writing something thoughtful about your experience in finding the cache. WAY too many people these days just simply sign the log book without sharing something about their hike, the hide, what they traded, etc. Seems like in the early days of Geocaching, people put much more thought into what they wrote in the log books. I love reading through the old log books when I find an old cache!
  4. In a member's profile, when you click to see all the caches they've found, there are hotlinks next to all of the different types (ie: traditional, multi, virtual, etc.) and when you click them you can see a list of all those types of caches the person has found. However, there's no hotlink for "Geocaching Challenges". Why?
  5. I'm very happy the log dates are back, but now the find totals of each player are gone! On a cache page you used to be able to see how many finds each player had, even with the silly avatars, but now the avatars are gone and the find totals are gone. For me, seeing the number of finds a player has is very helpful. For example, if a noob cacher logs a dnf you take it with a grain of salt, but if a more experienced player logs a dnf there's a good possiblilty the cache is gone. Is this just a glitch or are the find totals gone for good?
  6. I really don't like not being able to see the log date. The other changes are kinda meh. I can take 'em or leave 'em. PLEASE BRING BACK THE LOG DATE!
  7. Oldest Caches on Long Island
  8. Well, I got it to work by drastically resizing my photo. Is there a size limit now?
  9. I haven't been able to upload a photo in a while. I keep getting an error message that says "An Error Has Occurred Your request has resulted in an error. Please return to this site's home page to continue." Does anyone know what is causing this? I've tried resizing my pics but the same thing happens. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  10. There seems to be a problem with the notification system. Does anyone know what's up? I had a new cache published last night and no one I spoke to today got the notification about it. Nor did I.
  11. Hi, I posted a link to this thread in the forums of www.ligeocaching.com (LIGO) which is the local Geocaching group here on Long Island. Hope that helps. Good luck!! RED 5
  12. Thanks! I've seen people upload them as a .jpg to their cache logs. That's what I'd like to do.
  13. You won't find another cache on Long Island like this one: Jimi
  14. Ok, not sure if this is the right spot for this, but I'll give it a shot. I have a Colorado 300 and I would love to know how to download my tracklog from a cache hunt, then upload it to GC.com after logging my finds. How do I do this?? Thanks! Btw, I'm not a geophyte, I've been 'caching for almost 6 yrs now, it's just that I've never tried this before.
  15. Prosser Pines County Park is just one of the great places to go caching out here, but I highly recommend it if you're bringing the kids. Great place for a picnic lunch, too! Start with this cache and work your way around the park. You'll love it!
  16. Thanks for the help! I didn't realize that there were two different download formats. I just got a Colorado so I'm new to waypoint downloading. I used to just input everything manually into my old unit.
  17. When I download a cache into GSAK, sometimes the all of the fields (ie: "last found" and "last log") are populated, and sometimes not (yes, the caches I'm downloading have in fact been found and logged). What can I do to make sure that info comes over every time? Help!
  18. Awesome. Thanks for the info.
  19. When you post a "Needs Maintenance" log does the local Admin automatically get notified (as with a "Needs Archived" log), or just the cache owner and anyone else who is "watching" the cache?
  20. Yep, same here. Tried it again and it's activated. Cool!
  21. Same here. Glad to see it's not just me. Has anyone gotten one yet that is activated? Hey Pete! Try it again, looks like they're activated now. At least mine is.
  22. Hmm. This year it is the same, they should already be activated. Perhaps they won't be activated until July 1? Wait until you see more people post, and see if theirs are already activated or not. BTW, how did it arrive? Regular US mail, or what? It came regular USPS in a padded envelope. No paperwork or anything else.
  23. I got a Red Jeep TB today, too. The only problem is that it's unactivated and they didn't send me an activation code. I remember the Green Jeep TBs were already activated when they went out and you just had to "grab" it when it came in the mail. Anyone know what I should do now?
  24. I got a RED Jeep in the mail today! Yes, it's as ugly as it looks in the pictures. Only problem is that it's unactivated and they didn't send me the activation code! Now what do I do?
