Don't know what it's been like elsewhere, but down south it's hardly stopped now for days & days. We were hoping it may have eased a bit by the weekend, but apparently not! Quote Link to comment

+Haggis Hunter
I thought you peeps in the South would be glad for several days rain. Aren't the water authorities worried that you don't have enough water to see you through the summer? As for caching, Gortex is a worthy investment. Quote Link to comment
nobby.nobbs
southern drought. we need about three weeks solid rain to start to bring the levels up to a safe amount. rain makes caches fun. nice pair of wellies and a drizabone full length, and tilly hat. what more do you want? might look silly but you stay dry. +CANTOR CLAN
I think to much time in all that sunshine on holiday has made some people soft, put your waterproofs on and head to Dartmoor this weekend, nobody said caching has to be fun all the time just think about those numbers!!! NickPick
Speaking as someone who works for the water industry, we could do with some more rain (about 3 months solid would be nice) Speaking as a cacher, I wish it wasn't raining so much - and that this mud would dry up (and that the nettles won't grow this year, but that's really for another topic) Quote Link to comment

+Paul and Max
Lots of showers in the Swindon area today, we got caught in a spectacular one on our last cache, one minute there was sunshine and 20 mile views, the next we where being hit by sideways hailstones. (This was of course on the top of a hill at the furthest point from the car) and all on the first day of the hosepipe ban! But what the heck, we haven’t shrunk and we can go and do it again tomorrow! Nediam
The rain is fine by us, keeps the muggles away !. That's a good point . I went caching over the weekend in an area that's usually full of muggles! . The heavy rain showers kept most of them away (although there were a few other cachers about ). Bit gutted about the weather today though! The weather forecast last week said today would be very wet, so I cancelled my days holiday....It's now lovely and sunny outside, with very little wind and just a few clouds about.....D'oh! +Optrex
If anyone is caching in and around the midlands, you can always check out the weather conditions, weather warnings and reports at www.midlandsweather.org.uk There are several members who have their own weather stations including Hereford, Wolverhampton, Solihull, Leicester, Derby and Tamworth (amongst others) and they can be found on the site too Quote Link to comment
+The Cache Hoppers
Well .... we had sunshine every day when we were in Devon - hope you all enjoyed it LOL! We came back a day early (last night) and very sorry to hear that it is now raining in Devon, awwwww. If it's any consolation ... today in Berks started with glorious sunshine and it is now bucketing down Edited April 7, 2006 by The Cache Hoppers Quote Link to comment

+The Hancock Clan
Absolutely gorgeous down here in Devon this morning! Quite a hard frost but not a cloud in the sky (yet!) - Fingers crossed it won't be a "sunny at 7, rain at 11" day! Quote Link to comment
