  1. Congratulations from us as well, nice to meet you on the Kennet & Avon on Saturday, When you said you where doing all 37 we thought you might be joking, you weren’t!
  2. Congratulations from us, it was nice to meet you Saturday as we passed in opposite directions, we knew you’d done a few caches but strewth!
  3. Lots of showers in the Swindon area today, we got caught in a spectacular one on our last cache, one minute there was sunshine and 20 mile views, the next we where being hit by sideways hailstones. (This was of course on the top of a hill at the furthest point from the car) and all on the first day of the hosepipe ban! But what the heck, we haven’t shrunk and we can go and do it again tomorrow!
  4. It’s on OL6 (South Western Area) We’re off to the lakes in June so have been buying the maps in readiness, really looking forward to it.
  5. Do whatever it takes but get a Garmin 60CSx! I got a 60CS in December and it was excellent, better than any previous GPS’r I have had, and I was quite happy with it, although it would lose the signal every now and then if there was any tree cover, unlike my sons PDA with a separate SiRFstar 3 receiver. When I discovered the CSx in February I had to have one (It’s essential Max, must have latest technology or world will end, etc etc) so ordered one and sold the CS on eBay. It really is a huge step forward, I can’t believe how sensitive it is, it hasn’t lost Satellite reception once in 20 caches, and on open ground usually has all 12 at good strength, something I have never seen before. It usually acquires a 3D fix in seconds, and will hold it in my pocket, or even sitting on the stairs of my house, (nowhere near a window), although the accuracy does drop a bit! The only slight downside is that it does “wander a bit” when you are standing still, which the CS didn’t, apparently my computer and house have moved 300feet in the last ½ an hour. Regards Paul
  6. 2 Round ones just ordered by us, we where afraid we'd get hooked on coins! Thanks
  7. Another place you may find useful for batteries is here: www.7dayshop.com They do 4 2500mah Nimh’s for £3.99 in a case, I’ve had a couple of sets from them and they last well in my 60CSx. They do good prices on Maglite torches as well. Regards Paul
  8. Our Pengy & Tigger coin has arrived today, many thanks. However Max says it is far too nice to send out into the wild, so we have just filled the form in for a second one, hope that's ok. I agree with Max and Freespirit1402 above, it's a lovely coin and we also have been converted! Thanks again, Paul
  9. Our latest obsession started from 2 directions, The first was that as I used to be a glider & light aircraft pilot with a dodgy sense of direction I have had a few GPSr’s, starting with an early Garmin that was nearly the size of a house brick! I also used to do a bit of jogging, but when my back started to complain it was time to change this to walking, this also meant Max was able to join in, as flying and running where never going to be on her list of likely pastimes, and as the kids had left home we could spend more time together (and I would get nicer packed lunches). So we started walking with the GPSr, as I sadly have to log every possible thing in every possible way and know exactly where, how far we have been and how long it takes us. Then our son told us about using it to find boxes in the woods, so we started to walk with a bit of added Geocaching. This has now changed around, and weekends now are a Geocache with a bit of added walking!
  10. Our first Geocoin ordered from Pengy & Tigger earlier this week, now our first TB tags, this is definitely becoming an addiction! Many thanks Paul and Max
