DocDiTTo Posted January 14, 2006 Posted January 14, 2006 I hope I get to see it some day soon. I also hope it doesn't disappear forever like one of my coins has. I added it to my watch list to see how it goes. Good luck! Quote

Marky Posted January 14, 2006 Posted January 14, 2006 I did! http://www.geocaching.com/track/details.aspx?id=248631 Good job on drilling the hole in the coin. I really think that is the way to go if you want them to keep moving since it removes a lot of the collectibility. --Marky Quote
pdxmarathonman Posted January 15, 2006 Posted January 15, 2006 So most coins are in books or coffee cans collecting dust. Considering I've traded for over 200 coins and placed only 50 or so, yeah, most coins are collecting dust. I am sure there are a few I've left in caches that collected a lot of moisture Quote

m_and_w Posted January 15, 2006 Posted January 15, 2006 We picked up the schmo's coin today and the curse was pretty bad (we feel like the worst geocachers already, sometimes) but I couldn't keep it because of the hole, an idea that I hope is ok ot use. Quote

Cornerstone4 Posted January 16, 2006 Posted January 16, 2006 In an actual cache? Yep! I must admit, I still have one in my collection, so I wasn't totally altruistic here, but it is the real coin, and it is sitting in a real cache...for now at least. Sunrise @ San Elijo Quote
LadeBear68 Posted January 16, 2006 Posted January 16, 2006 Hmm, there is no way I can get there within the next 7 hours to grab it. Tempting though. $1,575 or $600 for plane tickets. P.S. Yes, I did read the log for the coin, good work Cornerstone. Now if you want to get rid of that "SPARE" coin you have let me know. Quote

pdxmarathonman Posted January 17, 2006 Posted January 17, 2006 (edited) No log on the cache page? 3 hours later - still no log on the cache page... Yeah - I know you can click the TB history link... Edited January 17, 2006 by pdxmarathonman Quote
Cornerstone4 Posted January 17, 2006 Posted January 17, 2006 No log on the cache page? The cachers that grabbed it, logged the bug out from thier phone while they were at the cache. They wanted to make sure that everyone knew the coin was gone, and were still going to be doing some caching. The coin will be back in circulation. Quote
maggieszoo Posted January 17, 2006 Posted January 17, 2006 I have released two red handed coins, a USA coin, and a Coin Club FTF coin. Quote
pdxmarathonman Posted January 22, 2006 Posted January 22, 2006 I released one of my personal coins, coin #43 in This Cache yesterday. We went on a scouting to run to see if we could reach the 5-star cache via a different route than when we placed it 18 months ago. We did, and the route was harder than the 5-star route Ultimately the goal was to see if we would be able to go further upstream via the route we took. It's possible, but it would be wise to wait for days with longer daylight. We also rescued two travel bugs. Quote
tiki Posted January 23, 2006 Posted January 23, 2006 I am letting on loose on my trip to Hawaii this week. We are going to move it on a few thousand miles to New Zeland in a few weeks on our vacation. PS - Left Three TikiCoins in caches today: Studio Cafe Cache Coconut Valley Strangled Palm Now go get em!
