Rubbertoe Posted August 8, 2002 Posted August 8, 2002 I've read a couple good ones, but of course I don't remember how they went - or where I found them. Basically, I'm looking for a quote to add to my profile page. I've adopted the idea of caching without impacting the environment at all. I can't remember what the little saying was, though... something about going in, finding the cache, and leaving everything as it was. If you have any little mottos or sayings or quotes or mantras or whatever, please post them in this thread. I need something clever in my profile. --== http://www.bigfoot.com/~rbatina ==-- Quote

Rubbertoe Posted August 9, 2002 Author Posted August 9, 2002 Well, I couldn't pick just one... so at the bottom of each cache page I have, I've included this: TREAD LIGHTLY BE A STEALTH GEOCACHER LEAVE NO EVIDENCE OF YOUR SEARCH I know, not clever, not witty - but it took that many words to sum up what I wanted to say. If I had anything to say about it, people wouldn't even leave footprints. Not necessarily because I consider it damage to the environment - but more for the fact that a beaten path to a spot in the woods will eventually draw unwanted attention. Thanks all for your replies. --==< http://home.columbus.rr.com/rubbertoe >==-- Quote

While looking for the exact wording of that quote, I found: One day I undertook a tour through the country, and the diversity and beauties of nature I met with in this charming season, expelled every gloomy and vexatious thought. Daniel Boone I remembered it as "turned around" instead of "confused". I heard it as "a mite bewildered." And it was for "a few days" rather than several weeks.
