+Mar-elendili
Hunting High and Low A-ha Cannot Hide A-ha Two songs which would fit nicely into a Trailmix! For the story, I'll talk about a song you'll probably won't be able to find, it's a complete crazy song in French by Donjon de Naheulbeuk : A l'Aventure, compagnons! It tells about a guy who wanted to seek adventure and who ends up in a serious mess, failing the whole thing. It is really funny, in the spirit of the Dungeons and Dragons stories. So one evening after a very hard hike to find a geocache up a snowy hill (well, icy and snowy!), we were completely dead from exhaustion when coming back to the car. So we turned on the CD, and sang the silly and fun stuff all the way back to home. What a day! Thanks for the great project! Quote Link to comment
+Geo.Error
Hi d.j.j rock you never walk alone ...... lee towers. As you know i am dutch, so i know this song from lee towers. I think this song gives hope and power. And if you are geocaching in nature, you never walk alone, because the nature and animales are always with you. Sweet about me ......Gabriella Cilmi This is just a song who makes me happy. It makes me smile an i love to sing with this song. I turn the music harder when i hear this song on radio. Thanks for this fun cointest Quote Link to comment
+mfamilee
This probably won't count for the cointest, but while we are driving to rural caches we like to whistle the theme song from the Andy Griffith Show. Quote Link to comment
+LadyBee4T
title On the Road Again artist Willy Nelson My caching buddy and I frequently sing this song on our caching trips together. Its best if no one else heard us though! title Good Day Sunshine artist The Beatles The Beatles are one of my favorite groups and this seems like a happy song to me and and a sunny day is great for a lot of caching. These lyrics say it all with a only slight change. Good Day Sunshine by the Beatles! Good day sunshine Good day sunshine Good day sunshine I need to laugh, and when the sun is out I've got something I can laugh about I feel good, in a special way I'm caching and it's a sunny day Good day sunshine Good day sunshine Good day sunshine We take a walk, the sun is shining down Burns my feet as they touch the ground Good day sunshine Good day sunshine Good day sunshine We find it beneath a shady tree I love caching and its loving me The ammo can is hidden and its camoed fine I'm so happy that I'm first to find Good day sunshine Good day sunshine Good day sunshine Good day sunshine Good day sunshine Good day sunshine Good day sunshine Good day sunshine Edited April 15, 2009 by LadyBee4T Quote Link to comment

nebukatneza
my absolutely all time favorite song Nirvana - lithium (and then all the other nirvana stuff) other great ones for me are: otis redding - sitting on the dock of the bay norah jones - sunrise muse - new born dont know why, but most of them do i hear when i'm down. i often hear music when i'm down, when i'm happy i also hear music, but then i don't think about it, just hear it, like it. music is for me the best way to think of life, problems, good things etc, so thats my story... oh ok, only two, then: Nirvana - lithium Norah Jones - sunrise Quote Link to comment
+LadyBee4T
I have another song to add but I can't find it yet. Its written and sung by another cacher. I found a copy in a cache when I first started caching. I contacted him and he told me I could copy it and put it in caches too as long as I gave him credit. I will continue to look for it. Its called something like: "Don't Tell My Wife I'm Geocaching She Thinks I'm Out at the Bar" LOL Someone has already taked the ones by Queen I had thought of so how about these. Title Take It Easy Artist Eagles This one is good fro my caching friend. she has a bad knee but still thinks she can do everything. We have to tell her all the time to take it easy. maybe I'll have to sing it to her and she will get the message. but knowing her probably not! Title Who Says you Can't Go Home Artist BonJovi How many times have you slid down a hill in the mud or fallen in the river or hiked in snow up to your thighs or some such thing and one of the cachers with you who has watched all this in amazement tells you that you better not go home looking like that cause you know what your spouse will say? Well this song is for YOU!!! Quote Link to comment
+GEO*Trailblazer 1
Doctor My Eyes Jackson Browne Doctor, my eyes have seen the years Through the slow parade of tears without crying Now I want to understand I have done all that I could To see the evil and the good without hiding You must help me if you can Doctor my eyes Tell me what is wrong Was I unwise to leave them open for so long? As I've wandered through this world As each moment has unfurled I've been waiting to awaken from this dream People go just where they will I never notice them until I've got this feeling That it's later than it seems Doctor my eyes Tell me what is real I hear their cries Just saying "It's too late for me" GUITAR SOLO Doctor my eyes Cannot be disguised Is this the prize for having learned how not to cry? +LadyBee4T
I have been sitting here listening to the tunes on my ipod and a couple others I think would work. These are also on my playlist that I have on cd so I can play it on long trips. Title Teach Your Children (Its pretty funny because as I'm typing this is is playing again in the shuffle!!) Artist Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young I think this is a great song because we can all teach our children about nature and the world around them through geocaching.. You, who are on the road Must have a code That you can live by. And so, become yourself Because the past Is just a goodbye. Teach, your children well Their father's hell Did slowly go by And feed them on your dreams The one they pick's The one you'll know by. Don't you ever ask them why If they told you, you would die So just look at them and sigh And know they love you. Title Come Monday Artist Jimmy Buffett Well we all know that come monday we will be at work again wishing we were out caching. I know it is a stretch but hey I love the song and sing along with it all the time. Nope I dont take the ipod caching but listen to the cd while driving Quote Link to comment
+Fiery Searcher
1. Red Dragon Tattoo (song title) Fountains of Wayne (artist) 2. Light in your Eyes (song title) Sheryl Crow (artist) Both of these songs have good driving rhythms and I love when they come on my iPod, whether it's caching or driving to one of my study sites out in the boonies! The first one (Red Dragon Tattoo by Fountains of Wayne) has quirky lyrics that are just fun to sing and funny when I think about them, and this song is perfect for starting out and a caching run. Good motivator. "Light in your Eyes", Sheryl Crow's tribute to George Harrison, is easy on the ears with moving lyrics, and a good consolation prize after I have a DNF! For times when I have been more successful, it just reminds me to have a greater appreciation for all things to be thankful for: a working GPS, good friends to go caching with, and the time and freedom to enjoy the outdoors in this way. Thanks so much for the cointest, DJ.J.ROCK! Quote Link to comment

SCYoli
Hanging Tough New Kids on the Block The climb Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus Song number one always gets me in a good mood and reminds me that any cache can be found or solved! Song number two is a recent one I did a hike in upper SC to a waterfall that had an earth cache at well one of us read the hike guidelines wrong and thought it said mild hike 1.9 mile. When in fact that was only straight line distance not over the 3 mountains and not the last 1500 feet that marked as strenous. I am not in shape the way I used to be and boy did that kick my hiney. But the whole time I'm grumping up and down that mountain all I can hear in my head is: I can almost see it That dream I am dreaming But there's a voice inside my head saying "You'll never reach it" Every step I'm taking Every move I make feels Lost with no direction My faith is shaking But I gotta keep trying Gotta keep my head held high There's always gonna be another mountain I'm always gonna wanna make it move Always gonna be a uphill battle Sometimes I'm gonna have to lose Ain't about how fast I get there Ain't about what's waiting on the other side It's the climb So there are my two songs with a story. +kini_ont
Ok DJ I'll throw in two I like, hope you Like them Family of Man – Three Dog Night This tired city was somebody's dream A billboard horizon as black as they seem A four level highway across the land We're building a home for the family of man Prices are rising The devil to pay, Moving the mountain that got in the way, Prayer books and meetings define the plan, deciding the fate of the family of man, And it's so hard whatever are we coming to, Yes it's so hard with so little time, And so much to do Memories replacing the loves that are lost Burning our bridges as soon as they're crossed Factories built where the rivers ran And time running out for the family of man You’re the Voice –John Farnham/Heart We have the chance to turn the pages over We can write what we wanna write We gotta make ends meet before we get much older We're al someone's daughter We're all someone's son How long can we look at each other Down the barrel of a gun? You're the voice, try and understand it Make a noise and make it clear We're not gonna sit in silence We're not gonna live with fear This time, you know that we all can stand together With the power to be powerful Believing, we can make it better We're all someone's daughter We're all someone's son How long can we look at each other Down the barrel of a gun? You're the voice, try and understand it Make a noise and make it clear We're not gonna sit in silence We're not gonna live with fear The John Farnham version was the first I heard but Heart do it justice Quote Link to comment

+ThePetersTrio
Ooo looks like I'll get in just a nick of time! Went caching today - gorgeous sunny warm weather - I've been looking forward to this all week!! So while at, turned off the radio and decided to see what songs came randomly to my mind for this cointest. So for getting to the cache today it was: A Walk On the Wild Side Lou Reed and for when we finally got to GZ and we were sweaty and tired but the view simply took our breath away... My Secret Place Joni Mitchell with Peter Gabriel I'm going to take you to My special place It's a place that you Like no one else I know Might appreciate I don't go there with anyone-but You're a special case For my special place For my secret place People talk to tell you something Or to take up space Guess I'm only talking To be talking to Your pretty face I don't talk much to anyone-but You're a special case For my special place My secret place I was born and raised In New York City I'm just getting used to Colorado- Oh street bravado Carry me Why did you bring me to A place so wild and pretty? Are there pigeons in this park- Muggers after dark- In these golden trees- In the secret place? I'm going to take you to My special place It's a place no amount of hurt and anger Can deface I put things back together there It all falls right in place- In my special space My special place Once I saw a film In New York City That was shot in Colorado- Girl meets desperado In the trembling mountain trees Out of all of the girls that you see In bleachers and cafe windows Sitting-flirting with someone Looking to have some fun Why did you pick me? +GATOULIS
ok.... Can I post and non English songs? these songs are or were quite famous in europe.. I hope in the states too! Some are probably not! Anyway...it will some different 1) Arash - Arash, (singer...I think arash! ) In case you want to listen it.. I love this song becasue when I hear it my mind goes in "paradise places!" I do not know why! maybe the music.... I just love this song! 2) This is one of the most beautiful songs and music I have heard! It was the Serbian song of Eurovision 2008! I REALLY LOVE this song becasue it makes Like I want to cry! It awakes memories of lost loves, memories of things I didn't do when I had to do, things I had done when I shouldn't had done, things that passed and will never come, will never get fixed... If a song or music makes my heart tremble like a lear in the wind.... No matter from where the song or the music is...it really speaks in my soul! I think the song's name is ORO and the singer is Jelena Tomasevic! In case you want to hear the song, here is a live performance! Unfortunatelly it didn't won, but it should had!!! Enjoy!!! +GATOULIS
ok, 2 more foreign songs! 1) an old but nice Arab song! the name of it: tamally maak and the singer is Amr Diab Nice song talking about love..I think! A love song is always a love song! even if we do not understand the words... our heart understands and gets the message! In case you want to hear it.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1dqHLLrvdvM 2) the Pulp fiction soundtrack, the song "Misirlu"!!! Believe it or not, this song is a very old Greek song!!!! The song was first performed by the Michalis Patrinos rebetiko band in Athens, Greece in 1927!!!! It had lyricks too! This song is a popular Greek song with a cult-like popularity in five very diverse styles of music: Greek rebetiko, Middle-Eastern belly dancing, Jewish wedding music (Klezmer), American surf rock and international orchestral easy listening (Exotica). I think there was one with lirics too, a new version, but I can not find it now... Quote Link to comment
