What is the largest cache container ever hidden or found?

I know this might have been asked already but I could not seem to find it so I now ask.

 

Whats the largest container ever used as a cache container?

Found: 20 gallon trash can and also a huge rubbermaid about the same size.

 

Hidden: Large ammo can.

I think you might want to specify what 'container' means. I think there was (is?) a cache that was hidden in a concrete WWII bunker in Europe somewhere. But it may be have been there was a smaller container to actually hold the logbook/trinkets. so does the bunker count, or only the thing holding the logbook?

Personally I found one that was in an old school bus... but same problem, there was a smaller container for the 'cache'.

A fellow cacher told us of finding one that was a 55gallon drum in the woods. He said there were other cachers near it, and he thought they found it, but they were still looking... he openned it, logged the cache, closed it. they were still looking... I think he asked "are you looking for this?" before leaving.

Seem to recall reading about a whole cabin used as a geocache somewhere in Europe. Biggest I have seen is an outdoor rubbermaid cabinet/storage bin.

That's not actually me with the cache. That's the cache owner. I would've been a couple of inches taller (I think), but wider as well.

i have one that approximately the size of a '54 cadillac fleetwood.

I've also seen large household trash cans, and have heard of (but never seen) a self storage unit used as a cache.

It's located... or was located in the owners driveway. He closed it down for the winter, but I suspect it will be back later in the spring. Eventually he plans to donate it to a MiGO auction I believe.

The biggest that I've had a chance to find was "Lawrence County's Largest Cache Container" (GCQZAX). It's a 7.5' long missile crate hidden in the owner's back yard.

I had on my hands on this one over the Halloween holiday but the owner doesn't want to give it up permanently!

We found this container this summer. It's been up since December of '05.

It's not quite Pathfinder size, but will sleep two nicely.

 

 

And yes, that's an open umbrella in it....

I just dropped in this forum topic to see what it was about and I am in hysterics looking at these caches...I went to the large green cache page resembling a large ammo can and loved the hint....written in code, of course..."if you can't find it, look under the basketball hoop...." and a picture of 2 small children inside of it! Now that's a cache....so where are these car caches? The Pathfinder?? The largest I had heard of before this is the APE cache in the tunnel in the Cascades...I plan to go there next Spring...the largest I have done is a fairly large ammo can, but of course nothing like this!

The cache VI Waypoint Hunters is referring to has got to be the largest one I have ever found. It constantly amazes me that no one has grabbed the tent since it's been up almost a year now. Fortunately it's hidden along a lightly used path.

I left a logbook aboard a 113,000 ton cruise ship. ... Does that make the ship a cache? Unfortunately, the thing is usually in motion so I can't give coordinates that last for more than a couple of hours at best.
