Pooling It To The P&C 1k Event

Looks like Andrew and I will be pooling it down for this in my Allanon-mobile.

I'm coming from Monroe and Andrew is in Redmond. We have room for one or two more if anyone is interested.

With the gas prices the way they are, this seems like a good way to save and conserve at the same time.

Oh, and I'm sure Andrew and I are not above riding with someone else if they have a bigger vehicle...

It's 130+ miles from Monroe to the event. Since I hate being late and would rather be early (especially if we want to cache on the way down), I was planing on leaving my place between 6 and 6:30...leaving Redmond no later than 7:00...earlier will definitely be better in my thinking...

Oh, and if the weather people are correct, we're looking at great weather next Sat.

I think there is a convient Park and Ride lot near Marcus' You can't get there from here, either cache.

Coords approximately 47 36.167, 122 11.167

How about everyone that want's to pool down to the event meet at the P&R at 6:30am. We'll decide who's going to go in which vehicle and depart the lot at 6:45.

If there is another lot that's more convienent, let me know.

Anyone else heading from the South King County (Auburn/Federal Way) area? I'm bringing my dad along, but we'll have room for a couple more in the car. Or we'd be happy to fill up the back seat of your car...either way.

I can accomodate 3 riders, maybe a couple more if you're willing to ride on the running boards , in/on the Land Rover from "Fish the Horseshoe" to "Mountain Marsh" and back.

I like the idea to have everyone meet up at a P-N-R lot. The one you mention would be ideal for me. Hydnsek also mentioned the next one south where the old Park-n-Hoot cache was.

Phil&Cathy emailed me about that one as well. We can actually make multiple stops, we may just need to adjust the time-table. I can even stop at someplace like Houghton/Kirkland if that is easier for Andrew.

I've already done the two caches up on St Helens, but that never stopped me before!

If there is room, I'l like to hitch a ride with someone... I'll even chip in for gas.

I'm probably the most northern of those going... I live in Lake Stevens, so I'll be watching for an appropriate place to meet everyone.

I've been playing a but with routing down I5 and it looks to be about 150 miles from Bellevue to the meeting place. What does everyine think, 3 hours long enough for that distance?

I'd say yes, but I've not driven that far south in awhile.

It is 1 hour 48 minutes from Federal Way (320th) to Fish the Horseshoe.

After you hit Olympia it's 70 mph the rest of the way.

Allanon- The PNR in Bellevue is fine. If it is the one off Bellevue Way I am quite familier with it.

Don't forget to hit I-5 Drive Break on the way down. It can be done from either direction, but it is well laid out.

Yes, I found that one to be fun. And of course, if you're doing that one (or even if you're not) don't forget the nearbySmile Mother Teresa you're on Caching Camera.

And the very first Road Rage #1 on the southbound Toutle Rest stop (the other 2 nearby ones are for the North bound rest stop.

A couple of other easy ones are Community Park and Northwest History Tour - Speechless (which I haven't done but Menagerie is a cool caching group so I'm sure it's good).

Yeah, I didn't list any of the one's between Woodland and Castle Rock. If there's time there are plenty in Longview or Castle Rock to hit.

Also, you left off

Carrolls Bluff and Kress Lake Beaver Work which are both on the same road as Believe on the Lord and Over the River. A quick 4 caches to grab when driving along I5. Just get off at one exit, take the road that follows I5, grab 4 quick caches, and back on I5 at the next exit.

MarcusArelius, Cruiser Guy, and I are meeting at the Park 'n Ride I mentioned [exit 9 off 405] at 7:00 am to carpool. I felt no need to drive a few miles north just to come back south. :unsure:

We may have a couple others with us, so we probably have a car-full. No need to stop for us necessarily, but comaraderie always welcome! We'll have FRS on channel 2 on the way down.

Forever Green cache used to be. Let's say 6:15 near the old cache.

Andrew and Kiersolvd, we'll meet you at the Bellevue/Wilburton P&R at approx. 6:30 and head out as soon as we're loaded up.

We'll judge caching on the way down based on time and progress.

The final meal has been moved to Longview from Castle Rock. Plenty of opportunities for caching at night so if you're interested bring a flashlight.

There are two new caches and 1 totally reconfigured cache in the Longview/Kelso area in the last 2 days. Might want to make sure your PQs are up to date or check out the new caches down here if you're interested in grabbing them. Two of them are just off the road to dinner for the event.
