Patudles Posted June 27, 2005 Author Posted June 27, 2005 I hid one yesterday but now I need to work on the cache page. Hopefully it will be up soon that should be the tying cache.
The Navigatorz Posted June 27, 2005 Posted June 27, 2005 I hid one yesterday but now I need to work on the cache page. Hopefully it will be up soon that should be the tying cache. Is it in the 20 mile radius used for the stats?
xy,xx,xy,xy,xy,xy Posted June 28, 2005 Posted June 28, 2005 I hid another today too, but it is 23 miles out.
The Navigatorz Posted June 28, 2005 Posted June 28, 2005 Hey, Patudles! Cool photo of Mt. Stewart you took from the top of Wenatchee Mountain!
Allanon Posted June 28, 2005 Posted June 28, 2005 Hey, Patudles! Cool photo of Mt. Stewart you took from the top of Wenatchee Mountain! Yeah! Be sure to enter it into the Win an El Diablo Hiking Staff contest!
Patudles Posted June 29, 2005 Author Posted June 29, 2005 Thanks I just might do that. Thanks for letting me in on it. I don't read the forums often enough to have known about it.
The Navigatorz Posted June 30, 2005 Posted June 30, 2005 With the recent cache approvals, the hide count for June is at 29 (on June 29). A new record.
xy,xx,xy,xy,xy,xy Posted June 30, 2005 Posted June 30, 2005 Woohoo! A new record! Way to go everybody!
Ambrosia Posted July 1, 2005 Posted July 1, 2005 Well, I hid my last cache today for the month. I almost did two, but we drove by one spot and my mom didn't feel like turning around on the highway. Oh, well. Maybe some other time. Anyway, can we still count that one cache that was archived? Can we count the cache event? Has anyone else put out a cache that isn't approved yet? If it is no for all of those, we hit 29. Hit a record, but not an even number. If we can say yes to the archived one, we have 30. Yes to the event cache, makes it 31.
The Navigatorz Posted July 1, 2005 Posted July 1, 2005 If Ambrosia's cache she hid today is the last one for the month, then the hide count for June in the 20 mile radius of Wenatchee is 30. I haven't counted event caches in the past, so to be consistent for comparison purposes, I wouldn't count the June event either. I think we can count the archived cache since technically it was approved and found. Unless there is more new ones hidden today I don't know about, the hides this month is a record for our area, 30 in a month. Thanks to all hiders for making this a fun and active mionth, including those from out of the area, like GeoRoo who hid 2 nice view caches up near Blewett Pass.
The Navigatorz Posted July 2, 2005 Posted July 2, 2005 Hid two new lookout type caches today for the month of July, in the hills between the Entiat and Chelan valleys. !!Somebody stop me!!
The Navigatorz Posted July 3, 2005 Posted July 3, 2005 Ok xy, save some of the FTF's for the rest of us. I'm curious, what percentage of your total finds are FTFs? Seems like it must be in the 25% range.
xy,xx,xy,xy,xy,xy Posted July 3, 2005 Posted July 3, 2005 It only seems that way. I've found 417 caches and only 35 of them were firsties. I'll bet your firsties percentage is higher than mine. And to answer your question from Friday morning... Aparently 7 finds is enough to overcome a firstie. I found 15 on Friday but only 7 were between E'burg and Wenatchee on the way home.
The Navigatorz Posted July 3, 2005 Posted July 3, 2005 Your 35 FTF out of 417 Finds is 8.4%. That beats my 80 out of 1206 which is 6.6%. I think you're the FTF percentage champ for our area.
Patudles Posted July 6, 2005 Author Posted July 6, 2005 Your 35 FTF out of 417 Finds is 8.4%. That beats my 80 out of 1206 which is 6.6%. I think you're the FTF percentage champ for our area. I know I have over 100 FTF's but I haven't counted them for a while. My goal was to have 100 FTFs and 100 TBs by the time I reached 1,000 caches. I know I acheived that goal but then I quit counting. Hmmmm
The Navigatorz Posted July 6, 2005 Posted July 6, 2005 Your 35 FTF out of 417 Finds is 8.4%. That beats my 80 out of 1206 which is 6.6%. I think you're the FTF percentage champ for our area. Hmmmm ok Patudles, if you got 100 FTFs out of 1000 cache finds, then your FTF percentage was 10%, so your the champ!! So now, who got the most FTfs in a day? I got 3 in one day a couple of years ago up by Manson.
Patudles Posted July 6, 2005 Author Posted July 6, 2005 I won't challenge you on that account. I won't even go back and look for that one because I don't think I even came close except when one time caching together ccmin and & I got 4 FTF's but she got two of them and I found two of them so you can remain king of the day unless challenged by another!
The Navigatorz Posted July 6, 2005 Posted July 6, 2005 (edited) For those interested, not only was June the best for number of hides in a month (30), but so far 2005 is the best year. In the first 6 months of 2003, there were 83 hides. In the first 6 months 2004 there were 77 Hides. In 2005, the number of hides in the first 6 months are 115. Edited July 6, 2005 by The Navigatorz
Mr. Gadget #2 Posted July 10, 2005 Posted July 10, 2005 The wife and I celebrated my B-Day by finding six caches and hiding three. Watch for the new ones: Wide Spot in the Road On Top of Grouse Springs Rooster Watching Over his Flock hmmm wonder what the Chicks Kick Butt will have to say about this one. I can hear it already, We were just there!!!
The Navigatorz Posted July 10, 2005 Posted July 10, 2005 Happy Birthday! Looking forward to going after your new caches.
The Navigatorz Posted July 12, 2005 Posted July 12, 2005 Rooster Watching Over his Flock. hmmm wonder what the Chicks Kick Butt will have to say about this one. That is funny.
The Navigatorz Posted July 12, 2005 Posted July 12, 2005 (edited) I heard dinosaurs may have existed in this area, and here's proof. Mr. Gadget took this photo last weekend of some petrified dinosaur pooh. Edited July 12, 2005 by The Navigatorz
robinego Posted July 12, 2005 Posted July 12, 2005 Rooster Watching Over his Flock. hmmm wonder what the Chicks Kick Butt will have to say about this one. That is funny. Sounds like he's getting a little cocky?
Barnabirdy(s) Posted July 12, 2005 Posted July 12, 2005 We had six FTF's in a row, but not all the same day. Not much competition here in the valley when someone hides some Our best in a day is three thanks to the CKB series. K&A
Patudles Posted August 8, 2005 Author Posted August 8, 2005 Yawn. Does this mean your to tired to hide anything?
The Navigatorz Posted August 8, 2005 Posted August 8, 2005 Yawn. Does this mean your to tired to hide anything? It means this quietness of thread is getting a little boring. The last post before mine was almost a month ago. No new hides for a while from anyone. Yawn...
robinego Posted August 8, 2005 Posted August 8, 2005 I am swamped with life at the time, the most important of which is sending the oldest to Europe for a year. Taking a lot out of me. Been kind of down and don't have much heart to even pick up my new GPS I got for my BDay... I'll get back into it since I broke down in a weak moment and accepted a day position starting in September. -R-
xy,xx,xy,xy,xy,xy Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 After missing the boat for July, I just finally posted my August hide:Hey Myrtle, hike or bike? Farther out than the 20 mile radius Nav is using for the stats, but definitely located here in Cache-cadia.
The Navigatorz Posted September 4, 2005 Posted September 4, 2005 Hey Myrtle, hike or bike? fan-freakin-tastic??? I've never heard that term before.
The Navigatorz Posted September 4, 2005 Posted September 4, 2005 Hey, I just hid my August hide too (a little late, but oh well). Its called Snap Crackle Pop. It contains one of our signature Navigator TBs, a White Jeep, and a 2004 WA state geocoin. The view is also fan-freakin-tastic.
Blue J Wenatchee Posted September 7, 2005 Posted September 7, 2005 This is my first in the Cach_Cadian once a month club. I put a cache in 'Recognition Plaza' on the 6th. The easist way to get there is from the parking lot at Douglas County Service building off of 19th. I guess this really isnt my first for once a month. I hid 2 last month. Blue J
Patudles Posted September 8, 2005 Author Posted September 8, 2005 Glad to have another hider. I hid mine on the 5th but it is up in the Steven Pass area on Mill Creek Rd. Don't go unless you have high clearance.
Mr. Gadget #2 Posted September 13, 2005 Posted September 13, 2005 Score two for me. One has been approved and one is in waiting. Willow Springs Rd Erratic Lenore Caves Both are interesting and Lenore Caves does have a view besides.
The Navigatorz Posted September 13, 2005 Posted September 13, 2005 Willow Springs Road Erratic is very interesting. I highly recommend it.
xy,xx,xy,xy,xy,xy Posted September 14, 2005 Posted September 14, 2005 My buddy Jacknapp told me he just placed his first cache in the sage hills area. Now if I only had a phone like Nav's that would let me know the minute it is approved. Ah, what am I worrying about. He still hasn't gotten the 4 caches on saddle rock that are less than a mile from his house... Game on!
The Navigatorz Posted September 14, 2005 Posted September 14, 2005 (edited) I would be worried if I were you XY. The caches above Saddle Rock can wait for cooler weather, but if there's a new cache out there, I'm all for beating you to the FTF. I've had several FTFs recently and there was no XY anywhere in sight. You're no competition anymore. But wait, did you say "Buddy"? You probably already have the coordinates then. +xy,xx,xy,xy,xy,xy Posted September 14, 2005 Posted September 14, 2005 Who do you think I am? Patudles?
Allanon Posted September 15, 2005 Posted September 15, 2005 Ooo, Oooo...Can I be an honorary Cach-Cadian?... I hid one on your side of the mountains on our way back on Saturday...not approved yet, but hopefully soon...
Barnabirdy(s) Posted September 15, 2005 Posted September 15, 2005 If anyone is in the vicinity of "Caught", (GCNABR) maybe going for "Recognition Plaza" could they take a look and see what is going on with it? We aren't sure what "damaged, but is still functional" means since it was never intended to "function". The log is full. We aren't sure when we will get to town to take care of it, probably not for at least a couple of weeks. K&A
Patudles Posted September 15, 2005 Author Posted September 15, 2005 Who do you think I am? Patudles? What's this, using my name in vain again? Besides I just try to save on gas money, so there! You'all know there are 4 up the Entiat the Ccmin put out that I haven't logged yet. Just wishin now that I had though. It's getting so I can't afford to go caching till I get a smaller car again. One that sips instead of gulping.
Patudles Posted September 15, 2005 Author Posted September 15, 2005 Ooo, Oooo...Can I be an honorary Cach-Cadian?... I hid one on your side of the mountains on our way back on Saturday...not approved yet, but hopefully soon... Allanon, you can be a Cache-cadian if you wish. You just live in wet foothills instead of the dry ones. Come hide a cache over here every month we'd love it.
The Navigatorz Posted September 20, 2005 Posted September 20, 2005 I hid one on your side of the mountains on our way back on Saturday...not approved yet, but hopefully soon... Got it! Thanks for hiding a cache on our side of the mountains. I wore the FTF button from the cache for about an hour, then put it in one of 2 new caches I hid today near Stevens Pass.
Allanon Posted September 20, 2005 Posted September 20, 2005 Congrats Nav!!! I saw that both you and XY looked at it today and thought it might go down. Thanks again for letting us join you guys the weekend ago and for the Campout and the Cache Machine...all in the same year!!! Cheers, BP
