Music to Cache By

Recommended Posts

I'm looking to put together a nice mix CD for driving out to the caches. So far, I've got

"To Track You Down" - Pat MacDonald, from "Sleeps with his Guitar"

"Lost Cause" - Beck, from "Sea Change"

I know there's an old song called "Lost in the Woods" but I don't know who it's by.

I am Arrowroot, son of Arrowshirt. I have many names, you know

Foo Fighters, All My Life

All my life I've been searching for somethin'

Somethin' never comes, never leads to nuthin'

Nothin' satisfies, but I'm gettin' close

Closer to the prize at the end of the rope

Done, done, on to the next one

Done, done, and I'm on to the next one

Done, done, and I'm on to the next one

Done, done, and I'm on to the next one

Done, done, and I'm on to the next one

Be careful...I recall Jeremy scolding someone for this a while back. I used to make some for trade items but after that I quit.

Erm... be careful of what? He said he was making a mix tape to listen to while driving. That's not illegal.

Stand in the place where you live

Now face North

Think about direction

Wonder why you haven't before

Now stand in the place where you work

Now face West

Think about the place where you live

Wonder why you haven't before

If you are confused check with the sun

Carry a compass to help you along

Your feet are going to be on the ground

Your head is there to move you around

Peace

These are my opinions and only my opinions, unless you share them as well, which would make them our opinions, but I am not of the opinion that I can express your opinion as my opinion without your prior expression of said opinion, and then my re-utterance of that opinion would, in my opinion, be foolish unless I were expressing agreement to your opinion, and then it wouldn't be my opinion but your opinion to which I only agree.

Making your own "mix" tapes or CDs composed of tunes you've copied from other recordings you've legally purchased is considered "fair use" in the United States (as long as you are not distributing the mix tapes or CDs - not legal for use as trade item).

Last spring, I burned 9 CDs of geocaching music, and over the course of the summer hid all but one in some of the better or more challenging caches out there. Since then, I thought better of it, and not wanting to get Groundspeak, Inc. into any possible trouble, am not planning on making any more. Here's the track listing, though:

1 - Kylie Menogue - Spinning Around

2 - a-ha - Hunting High and Low

3 - REM - Stand

4 - Alan Parsons Project - Hunting High and Low

5 - ATC - Around the World

6 - Tom Petty - Running Down a Dream

7 - Little Richard - Great Gosh a Mighty

8 - Blondie - One Way or Another

9 - Rockapella - Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego

10 - Dave Matthews Band - Satellite

11 - U2 - Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For

12 - Whitesnake - Here I Go Again

13 - Apples in Stereo - Signal in the Sky

14 - ZZ Top - Doubleback

15 - Dave Grusin - Jailbreak (Goonies soundtrack)

16 - Queen - Bohemian Rhapsody

17 - Hoku - Perfect Day

The photo I used for the cover of the CD case came from kbraband, and Anders provided the case's back cover art. The disk itself had a rounded version of the Geocaching logo on it. I thought it was pretty cool, if I do say so myself.

My last remaining copy is permanently in my car. It gets a lot of play, particularly as I'm pulling out of the driveway headed out for a day of caching.
