  1. Thanks! I appreciate the information. I can't wait to get there. Its going to be a blast. Add geocaching to the mix and I'm going to be one happy camper.
  2. I live in the USA and I am going to Australia at the beginning of March. I'd like to do some caching while I'm there, but I'm not sure how to set up my GPSr. I have a Magellan 320. Do I keep it set at magnetic North? When I get there, do I initalize it and will it then be set for using Southern Coordinates?
  3. Mine's kind of obvious. Dr. Beverly Crusher was my favorite character on ST: TNG. ______________ Live Long and Geocache!
  4. I placed a cache that took about 2 hours of driving to find. In this cache, I made sure I put some good stuff. I did this because I figured after all the driving they deserved to find something decent. So far, the cache has been found 3 times in a few months and everyone had TNLN. The caches I've placed here in town have had less expensive stuff and everyone seems to be exchanging. At first I found this kind of weird, but after reading this thread I realize its pretty typical. ______________ Live Long and Geocache!

  7. Welcome home. Thanks for your hard work and for serving your country. Your sacrifices were appreciated. ______________ Live Long and Geocache!
  8. Another reason some people place under heavy trees is because that's what's in their area. I live where there are redwoods. The reception sucks, but the redwoods make for some great hiding places. Don't get discouraged, just remember to look at every possible hidey hole. ______________ Live Long and Geocache!
  9. I'm sorry to hear about your cache. I'm very glad to see that you are all right. Hopefully, your downtown area will be rebuilt and someday you may replace that cache. ______________ Live Long and Geocache!
  10. Northern California wants some too! Those are too cool to pass up. When and where can we order? ______________ Live Long and Geocache!

  12. If you think you've got into it, before the rash breaks out, wash with a product called Technu. You can get it in either liquid or soap form. Its fantastic. ______________ Live Long and Geocache!
  13. I usually add a towel to my repair kit. That way I can dry things out that are wet. It's helped several times. ______________ Live Long and Geocache!
  14. That's an absolutely gorgeous horse! I don't have a horse, but I love the painted ones. That one is way cool ______________ Live Long and Geocache!
  15. Good Luck Cabernet. I know its hard. I quit 15 years ago. I did it like Jeremy. I put them down and walked away. It was really, really hard, but it was sure worth it. Things smell and taste so much better. Here's wishing you the best of luck! ______________ Live Long and Geocache!
  16. Hey Lysa, I've been lurking this thread for a bit now, hell..I've been lurking the whole board. I just wanted to add my congratulations! I also wish you luck at the lawyers office. ______________ Live Long and Geocache!

ENTER... scroll etc... ENTER.. you will see Save LMK..ENTER You now have a landmark entered....Now hit GOTO...USER..ENTER..find your landmark 001..ENTER GO find the cache.......I prefer the compass screen.....Found it...YE HA....Hit GOTO..MENU..you will see..CLEAR GOTO???..Yep HIT ENTER........hope this helps...basically each screen has it's own MENU options..ENTER for YES..QUIT for NO...NAV to go forward through screens...QUIT to go backwards.... R This is a much better description than is provided in the manual. Its clear and consise. I wish the manual had been this easy. It would have made my life easier. I'm a newbie too. I just got the GPS at Xmas and have been lurking on the boards. IMO, the people here, for the most part, are the best. They are great at answering questions and putting up with us newbies. Thanks guys and gals. ______________ Live Long and Geocache!
  19. We purchased a Magellan 320 this Christmas. I'm sure Awang is having the same problem we did. The manual sucked big time. It was poorly written. It was if the items were out of order. I finally figured it out by just going out and playing with it. I suspect that's what he should do too. ______________ Live Long and Geocache!

  23. I became a charter member primarily because the cost that is incurred in running this kind of website. I appreciate the work that Jeremy does for us and if I can help him with a little bit of money. Well, that in itself makes the charter membership worth the money to me. ______________ Live Long and Geocache!
  24. I did exactly what you said CR. I just placed my first cache yesterday. I'm using it as a learning experience. I hope to get constructive criticism from fellow geocachers. I don't mind that, I just hope I don't get slammed. I understand the view point of not wanting to hide them either. Everyone has their own likes and dislikes. To each their own. ______________ Live Long and Geocache!
  25. Wow! I wish I'd had this idea. My hubby's birthday was yesterday. It would have been a great way to hide a present. Good thinking fellow geocachers. Maybe I can do it for next year. ______________ Live Long and Geocache!
