Criminal
...bought something (funny-looking jar of pickles, cookies in a tin, etc.) primarily because of its potential as a cache container? Guilty http://fp1.centurytel.net/Criminal_Page/ Quote Link to comment
Ozarktroutbum
But I did see someone at work with one of the Crystal Light drink containers and asked if I could have it. Also been collecting those glass cigar tubes from a buddy who smokes em. When GPSr's are outlawed, only Outlaws will have GPSr's. Quote Link to comment

evergreenhiker!
Yep, from time to time, I'll go to one of those hand-me-down shops or goodwill adn look for unusual items. I found some tea bag holders whcih might be used in a future cache. Quote Link to comment
WaldenRun
I bought the following to use for a cache: After that cache was plundered (for the container?), I bought this to replace it: -WR "Besides physical caches, we have VIRTUal and VIRTUeless." Quote Link to comment

leatherman
No way freak! There's more in life than Geocaching. What's wrong with you? quote:Originally posted by Criminal:...bought something (funny-looking jar of pickles, cookies in a tin, etc.) primarily because of its potential as a cache container? Guilty OK, OK! I've bought ammo 'cause it came with a free ammo box. Do not extend your expectations unto others, you will not be disappointed by the stupid things they do. Mokita! +SherwoodForest
bought a tin of cinnamon altoids because I've thought about using the tins as preliminary stages for a three-part multi I'll be putting out... Of course now, I'm addicted to the cinnamon and citrus sours... and have a growing collection of tins... Cache well, and see ya round the bend... Quote Link to comment
Planet
La Voissiegne Candy tin for a micro, but have decided that unless it's a multi, micros are not my style. I figured a fat rubberband around the edge will keep it waterproof. With a spare inside. And a Harmony Bay coffee can. But decided it might not be waterproof enough. It might rust. Cache you later, Planet I feel much more like I do now than when I first got here. Quote Link to comment
RocketMan
quote:Originally posted by Criminal:...bought something (funny-looking jar of pickles, cookies in a tin, etc.) primarily because of its potential as a cache container? I haven't ever done this, but I sure find a lot of these types of wimpy containers used by other geocachers. I use only ammo boxes. They are cheap, stout, well sealed and they are the only way to go as far as I am concerned. There is no reason to use anything else unless you are hiding a micro. RM Quote Link to comment
Renegade Knight
I snagged a clear acrylic container from work. Decent sized about 12" x 8" and very cool looking. Plus it sealed. My wife saw that and snagged it from me for the kitchen. That was the end of that. Wherever you go there you are. Quote Link to comment
madapple
For a while I thought I might be alone in doing this!!!!! My son says I am addicted and need some help!!! I can find things to use for a cache everywhere I go!!!!! Exploring the world,,,one Cache at a time !!!!! Quote Link to comment
Geo-Johnson's
We recently purchased indoor house paint in the new plastic jugs. Once we've used all the paint, we can clean out the jug, cut the inside pouring lip off and it'll make an awsome cache......Now we just have to paint a room....... Jamethiel
We once purchased a tube of pony tail holders specifically for the 1.5 inch wide, clear plastic tube shaped like a pencil. It fit perfectly into it's current location. If only we had long hair! -J Quote Link to comment
majicman
Shoot fire, I even took the 6v battery out and trashed it to make my "Lite" (6V Lantern) cache container. --majicman Quote Link to comment
sbell111
I bought this tiny little nitroglycerin container, but I haven't figured out how to create a tiny, yet usable log. I've considered painting it a number on it or painting it a certain color and requiring email verification, but then it's really just a virt and doesn't make good use of the container. +Ltljon
I started buying powdered Gatorade just for the "Gott Cooler" looking containers. Learned about them on the forums. Quote Link to comment

sbell111
Must be. I did a quick and dirty Yahoo seach on 'Maccas'. McDonald's Australia was the top site listed. Quote Link to comment
ErSamin
Guilty also. The little Altoid Sours tins and others like that are especially cool. I also am constantly on the lookout for larger containers. Sometimes my husband can get some cool stuff from his work with computers. Another one that caught my eye lately are speed loaders for paintball. Looks like they have some possibilities. "Could be worse...could be raining" Quote Link to comment
