+L0ne.R
Just got my weekly GC newsletter. Here's the newsletter image: Is the scroll with the quill and ink pot a new attribute? I don't see it in the attribute list. What does it mean? Quote Link to comment
knowschad
Good question. I don't see that one on the attributes page. Same with the ammo can with the "+" sign. Quote Link to comment

knowschad
Maybe it was leaked prematurely, before an announcement that signing the log will be optional unless the cache has that attribute. You have to admit that it has a bit of a Puritan flair to it. Quote Link to comment

+St.Matthew
My guess: he attribute means that the geocache location is historical. As for the cache with the + sign, who knows.... Quote Link to comment
+the4dirtydogs
The new attribute means write more then TFTC on your online log. Quote Link to comment

+wiseye
It means the cache was placed by our founding fathers.....only found on the east coast. Quote Link to comment
+T.D.M.22
I'm sure I saw the ammo can with the + before. Maybe a multicache? Quote Link to comment
knowschad
I'm sure I saw the ammo can with the + before. Maybe a multicache? I dunno... its not an attribute onthe page that I looked at... unless I simply missed it, but I don't think so. Edited June 20, 2012 by knowschad Quote Link to comment
+Dan2099
Do they have a cache minus attribute too? Because if so that would make everything make sense. Quote Link to comment
+Harry Dolphin
I like the wheel chair being driven by the GPS unit! Quote Link to comment
+Isonzo Karst
Hmm, interesting. There are several new attributes there.....because: right now, you can't add NO Ticks, NO Thorns, NO Hunting. You can add Ticks, Thorns, Hunting, but not the negative version. They're either Present or N/R. "must sign log" yep, that's probably it Quote Link to comment
+tozainamboku
If I could vote - the ammo can with the plus sign would mean "cache has swag" and the scroll and quill would be "historic location". Quote Link to comment

Ooooo. I think a "cache has swag" attribute could be useful. I have several letterboxes that are stamp and logbook only (so that people won't confuse the stamp for a trinket). I've found some small caches that were stuffed full of logsheet that there was no room for a pencil let alone swag. Or ammo cans that are full of empty film canisters, one that holds the log - the CO does not want anyone leaving swag. Quote Link to comment
GOF and Bacall
Probably just more crap that marketing thinks looks good but the developers will never get to. Quote Link to comment
+The_Incredibles_
I'm sure it's not intended to be funny, but I find this image really hilarious, for a few reasons. I went for a hike the other day and saw a few signs 'no shooting' 'no hunting', right near a playground. I wonder what sorts of things happened in the past for them to need to put those signs up. +Don_J
The + cache attribute might be for "Series", something they were talking about last year. As far as "no ticks", there are always ticks... Quote Link to comment

7rxc
Could mean: Bring your own pen. This cache has a notebook big enough for a diary type log entry. or Toz may sign here. Perhaps that one is for certain areas of the world where "May involve Ransom Note" applies, or "May want to rewrite Will" for those more than minor hazard caches. As for the plus sign/container... perhaps a way to locate 'plus sized' caches. Ones regular or larger. OR maybe caches that have 'favourite' votes applied... as in +1. How about it's a subtle 'field acceptance' test to see what the regulars think before they are offered wholesale to everyone. A topic like this gets a lot of comments and thoughts, right?
