+hanando
Do you know of a Cache that you have to Swim to? Ideally anywhere in the south of England or South Wales and preferably close to the M4 corridor, but very happy to travel too? I am attempting a mystery cache called I Challenge You to Play...... CACHEBUSTERS! GC2JQNW. The fourth row is particularly tricky and I am opting for "Swim to a Cache" as I don't fancy the alternatives. I was thinking about swimming to this cache GC13GHQ, but I fear that the tides might be too strong. Weather still a bit chilly for me even with my wetsuit on, but I am hoping that by posting this message I'll be able to find a suitable cache just in time for a more temperate dip come May time. Thank you Quote Link to comment

+hzoi
Well, I swam halfway across the Rhein to Hatto's Schatz, because I didn't want to bother finding a boat. But I don't think I was supposed to, nor would I really recommend it. You're a premium member -- the easy way to find swimming caches near you (or in any given area) is to run a pocket query for the swimming attribute. (Assuming that the cache owner selected the "swimming" attribute, that is.) edit: messed up link Edited March 24, 2011 by hzoi Quote Link to comment

+Teuchters
I could recommend one but its in the north of Scotland. <_< Quote Link to comment
+The_Street_Searchers
It is my understanding that you would need to swim / paddle to this cache Cache Good luck! Quote Link to comment

+lodgebarn
I wonder if this would count A WALK ACROSS MORECAMBE BAY. You do have to walk across the river, probably thigh deep. You could always swim that bit . Quote Link to comment
+MartyBartfast
There's this virtual in Portsmouth Harbour and this trad in Chichester harbour Both of which are published as 'by boat' but if you're a srong swimmer.... usual caveat re "at your own risk" etc. Quote Link to comment
+abanazar
This one looks a particularly easy option Someone recommended this one to me once, and at least its south of the M4 corridor. Sorry I haven't been more helpful Quote Link to comment
+keehotee
..and either of these might just get you ticked off, too Quote Link to comment
+Simply Paul
You could try GC1DW1D Oh I Do Like To Be Beside The Seaside when it's up and running again. Two finders, two Favo(u)rite Points; tells its own tale Quote Link to comment
+abanazar
..and either of these might just get you ticked off, too I didn't know wading counted as swimming For me, swimming starts when my toes no longer reach terra firma. Heck, I was even wading for a pesky cache last Sunday Quote Link to comment

I think not. There are many easier (and drier) underground caches than those two Quote Link to comment

Heck, I was even wading for a pesky cache last Sunday It doesn't say it has to be a cache you can only get to by swimming.....there are thousands out there that anybody could swim to if they felt like it And if you go venture further past both of those caches you'll be up to your neck before too long Edited March 25, 2011 by keehotee Quote Link to comment

+The Blorenges
Not so much a swim, more of a plunge through an icy waterfall, judging from Zetetic's video which I've just seen! South Wales and not too far off the M4... "The "Extreme" Waterfall cache" MrsB Quote Link to comment
+maxkim
O is for Overboard... one of the WTF series in London, it can be done other ways but I swam across the Grand Union Canal to get it... so could you.. MaxKim Quote Link to comment

Thank you A bit further away and you would need a boat or plane ride but you could do this one in Northern Ireland GC283N8. Its also in a nice area in Northern Ireland and would make for a nice weekend break in the nearby seaside town of Bangor. Quote Link to comment
+TheSharpsUK
This is a Premium only cache:- http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?guid=20cab913-42cf-4051-93ee-db67fef2c090 Not been found since last Nov though. Not found it myself, but the description suggests swimming is needed. Quote Link to comment
+hanando
Thank you everyone for your suggestions and sagely advice. Portsmouth sound fun and being TTF on a cache that has been hidden for three years does hold a certain attraction - eek! Only the swim and a 5 mile walk to only one cache to go now.
