Unfortunately it was a year before we discovered geocaching, so will have to go back sometime Quote Link to comment
+The Forester
As the Dinged has thrown the game open, and as no-one has put up a new one: Time for some nightcaching, methinks. Name the city, and for techie qualification purposes, name one of the most central caches there. Quote Link to comment

+The Forester
Time for some wee clues. Northern hemisphere; Eastern hemisphere. That rules out 75% of the Earth's surface. A big city, very big. That narrows it down a lot. Quote Link to comment

+The Forester
Rjukan gets a double ding. One for getting the city right, the other for recognising my Norwegianness in naming the piccie. So far as I'm aware, Seoul is the world's only(*) eponymous city. Seoul means "Capital" in Korean language. It's the second largest metropolitan area, by population, in the world. (*) Schittsville, Arkansas isn't a city. Quote Link to comment

If someone would be so kind as to post a new one I'd be more then happy, I'm atm ok at finding things, working on hiding (cache related but applies here as well) Quote Link to comment
+The Forester
Just to keep the game going, lets have another one: What's special about this lighthouse? Norwegian speakers and native code breakers are excluded, as should be usual. Usual guff about nearest cache applies, as is de rigeur in these things. Quote Link to comment

+The Forester
Whoops! Good catch, HH. In forgot to answer H'Nicks question in a timely manner. I Nicked (pardon the unforgiveable pun) the pic from the NASA ISS page which Pimply Saul subsequently referred to, before the winner of the quiz won the quiz: which was:this one. Thanks for the reminder, HH. Cheers, The Forester Quote Link to comment

+Teuchters
And there was me thinking it was a Google Earth overlay... Interestingly, I have met Don Pettit, the NASA astronaut who took many of the high resolution pictures from the International Space Station and spoke with him personally for some hours about his experiences. I might have guessed he had something to do with the pictures! Quote Link to comment
+Simply Paul
Gurr, how did I miss that link to additional cities? Oh well. Lighthouse is the world's oldest, Hook Lighthouse, which dates from the early 13th centuary and is still working. I'll let someone else work out what the cache might be as I'm busy today Quote Link to comment
+Teuchters
Then it'll be By Hook or by Crook GCVGEJ....... Cheers SP!!! Try this one. Edited September 1, 2009 by HighlandNick Quote Link to comment
+The Forester
Pimply Saul was, of course, quite right to self-ding. I was amazed to learn that lighthouses were in regular use in the 1240s around the British Isles. Quote Link to comment

+The Forester
Yes, that was me on BBC4 just now Oh, go on, you tease. In threw my telly out two or three years ago 'cos I got so pished off with the fact that I was watching so many hours of shyte. I got my life back. I still have access to BBCiPlayer though and can watch good stuff if there ever is any. Looking at BBC Four's schedule for this evening on iPlayer I see: 8.00pm: The cell 9:00pm: Rich man, poor man 10:00pm: Les Paul Paul, please tell me you're not a Les. Pimply Saul being a Les would shatter so many illusions for me. I mean, I understand the sensible shoes and the severe haircut and all, but a Les? Should I perhaps watch all three programmes, but in reverse order to make sense of the sequence of your change of life? Quote Link to comment
+Simply Paul
Since I edited my comment at 9.30, and you ask, it was during Rich Man Poor Man. I'm actually in it twice, once waddling with a camera and once with a blurred head like I was up to no good. Ah well. At weekends, I am a Les. Back on topic... Seaside/lakeside/lochside Virtual. +The Forester
Yup. That's a ding. It not only ended Kopechne's life, but quite certainly scuppered Kennedy's chance of taking on the family business in the White House. Quote Link to comment
